The Antigua Casona San Blas offers 26 rooms with in-room WiFi, radiant heating, a flat-screen TV, unlimited hot water, private bathrooms, a central patio with a fireplace, and an in-house bar. Staff were very helpful and went out of their way to make our stay perfect. We loved the fire pits in the evening and breakfasts were delicious. Location was perfect - and very safe. Highly recommended

Offering rooms with impeccable rustic style décor and garden views, this inn just 30 km off Machu Picchu, features red-tiled terraced Spanish galleries and views of the surrounding scenery. It was a fantastic place to get over the altitude sickness of the first days in Cusco area. We arrived here right from the airport, could check in early and spent the full day lying in bed with the headache. But it really was the best place for it! They have a very nice restaurant right on site, and their light quinoa soup was the best to not be hungry but also not overload the system either. They also serve come coca leaves tea. So we could rest nicely and feel great the next morning, and catch the train to Machu Picchu - which was right there :) By the way, there was absolutely no noise in the room, and a beautiful view over a mountain.

Amaru Colonial is a colonial inn in the artistic SanBlas district, 2 blocks from San Blas square. The charming central courtyard features soft lighting and a colorful flower garden. Excellent hotel. Only 8 minutes from the main square. Comfortable beds, the bathroom is neat and has a hair dryer. Suitcases can be left when you go on a trip.

I felt safe. We were able to leave our bags here after checkout and explore the city before our next trip. It seems the hotel is not from a chain, and therefore there is a more "homey" vibe. Enioyed the chandelier and the many many plants.
