There is so many things to see, you have to stop by every village to experience local beauty. Also its quite close to such a place as Oeshinensee, absolutely stunning lake and great hiking there.

Thun is a fantastic old town with a ton of charm.
Thun is a fantastic old town with a ton of charm. From river canals to castles and gardens, you can spend hours roaming up and down the town's historic streets and paths. Plus, you can find many adventures from the town into the surrounding mountains. Less busy, more romantic, and much more history than Interlaken.

Thun was so perfect for our family.
Thun was so perfect for our family. We prefer to stay outside of big cities, that way we can venture into the city, but then retreat to our quiet town in the evening. Thun was so wonderful that we didn't even attempt to leave, apart from visiting Interlaken, which was just a 30 minute train ride away. Thun was made for walking! There is so much to see just walking through the town along the canal. Definitely be sure to walk the river, and visit the castle. Instead of taking the elevator back down from the castle, walk down. Trust me, it's adorable.
I personally didn't care much for any of the bakeries in town. I think we were spoiled in France, so the breads in Thun seemed too sweet to me, and lacked the lightness of French breads.

Therefore, I cannot comment on it.
This is a fantastic hotel in a superb location on the lakeside that also has wonderful facilities such as the spa/sauna. The room was a reasonable size and had a small balcony with table and chairs to be able to enjoy the warm weather. The room was also well equipped and provided us with everything we needed. Guests of the hotel also benefit from a local travel pass that gets you free access to the busses to travel around the local area. Ideal for getting in/out of Thun, although it is only a 10-15min walk.
The location of the hotel was right in the city and not a very far walk from Thun SBB (>10mins). Staff here are amazing, super friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and beds are extremely comfortable and spacious. The views of the room are spectacular and the hotel provides welcome drinks at the restaurant opposite the hotel which is a great bonus!
It is a house in front of a small market and the bus stop that goes to Thun. You can take the bus every 30 min. Very easy to move around. There is a garage, heating in the house, kitchen with all utensils and it is comfortable. It also has a beautiful view from the living room balcony. The owner is very friendly and helpful. I loved it!
I stayed for one night on a bicycle tour. Hotel Restaurant Schwert is a small hotel located just off the Rathausplatz at the centre of Thun. Don't expect luxury, but do expect character, cleanliness and a friendly welcome. I ate in the hotel's restaurant which was surprisingly good.
I would gladly stay again.
My wife and I really liked our stay here as we celebrate our wedding anniversary. All the staff are friendly, courteous and have shown a great hospitality during our stay and the food in the restaurant is amazing.
We will definitely come back here to stay whenever we are in switzerland.
Perfect place, with a super cozy design. The host was very communicative and always responded in a very fast manner, there is a parking place so you don't need to spend another 20 CHF. It's good to know that you will receive a panorama card to use in Thun.
Beautiful spacious room. Despite being a corner room facing into the street there was very little noise. Hotel is centrally located, 10 minute walk from the train station. Very friendly staff. Wonderful Tex/Mex restaurant in the hotel itself.
Excellent communication with host. Wonderful space with great amenities including a washer and dryer. 10 min walk to train station - Thun is a great central location to explore Switzerland with the Swiss Travel Pass.

The location was great, an easy walk from the station, and also conveniently on the free bus line (passes provided at hotel). In the evening there were plenty restaurants in walking distance.
