Surrounded by the sandy Costa Blanca beaches and the crystalline waters of the Mediterranean Sea, Alicante has a rich heritage built over thousands of years. Alacant (as it's known in Valencian) has a deep history ranging from the first tribes that arrived at the slopes of Mount Benacantil to Greeks, Romans and Moors. Nowadays, this modern city features a bustling harbor, great Spanish nightlife, charming old streets and modern beach resorts.
Overlooking the city from the top of Mount Benacantil, the Castle of Santa Barbara was built during Islamic rule in the 9th century. Cascading down the slopes towards the center of the city, L'Ereta Park has terraced levels that offer stunning panoramic views of the city. The remains of the ancient Roman town of Lucentum are also just a few miles away.
Barrio de la Santa Cruz is the historic quarter, featuring narrow streets, old houses and cobbled steps. Framed by palm trees and covered with a snaking pattern of white, red and blue tiles, the Explanada de Espana is considered one of Spain’s most beautiful promenades.
After arriving at Alicante Airport, indulge yourself in a resort near San Juan beach, or enjoy the view of luxurious yachts moored at the marina from a cozy B&B: Booking.com has the perfect spot for you to discover the magic of Alicante!
Plenty to see and do for all the family and of all ages.

Central Market is a must to wander around.
City Hall was closed for various reasons the 3 days we tried to go in.
Food was a good price, plentyful and a good varity of cuisine to suit all.
Distance to walk around seem alot but in reality are not long at all.

The walk into Alicante was about 8-10 minutes at most from the apartment. Following the beach towards the marina and lots of shops/restaurants etc. Just outside the apartment was a tramline with connections to Benidorm, which takes about an hour.

Alicante is a great city if you like a young and powerful vibe. The number and impact of tourist is (too) big even in February. However, as a mature couple we acknowledge the city is great with regard to service, transportation, climate, beaches, food, beverages, sights, hotels and a fair price level.

An impressive city and possibly overlooked by many who pass through en-route to other parts of the Costa Blanca. For us the highlights were the citadel and the old quarter. Atmospheric bars and eating places abound. There's a terrific market, a fine central beach and others further out. The city also has excellent public transport connections with the wider region. In many ways an ideal city break.

Found this particular place by chance and hoped it would be pleasant enough for a few nights for myself , my husband, one of my daughters and 2 of my grandchildren. I expected it to be out of the way, it definately wasnt, didn’t think there would be many shops, restaurants and there certainly were. It really had everything and then more. What a find.
Great breakfast, many options. I wished there were more plant based protein options, such as beans. There was beans one day out of ten, I ate alot! Speaking of which, i really like the variety in the breakfast buffet. They switch it up.
The location of the hotel in perfect in Alicante, close to the beach, and close to trams and buses that take you downtown. I prefer good air quality, so living in the city centre isnt for me.
Both gentlemen at the front desk were cheerful, welcoming and helpful with directions. This urban hotel is an older building with character. We were only 3 floors above city traffic but the street is narrow and not overly noisy. I have discovered that beds in Spanish hotels are not as comfortable as in the US or UK. They ranged from extra firm to hard. but this one was second best of the 6 hotels we stayed in Spain.
Hotel Cervantes had everything I needed for a quick stay in Alicante. Everything was clean and very nice. The staff were friendly. My booking also came with a free breakfast, which I did not even realize. It was not a buffet, but I got a croissant, orange juice, and a coffee, and it was lovely. Definitely an amazing place for the price. The location is right in the center of Alicante between the market and Luceros.
Location perfect... and the staff were very attentive and helpful. The hotel overall is amazing and my partner and I loved it. The Christmas/New Year period we spent at Melia Alicante was made extra special by your hotel. The restaurants, bars and service provided certainly warrant its four star rating. We can't thank you enough... and we had ring-side seats from our balcony for the 1st of January fireworks!!!
We had an amazing time here. The accomodation is located very close to the city center, close to several bus and tram stops. It's easily accessable from the airport as well. The main highlight in this accomodation is definitely the hot tub in the room - it made our stay really special. I'd definitely recommend this hotel for people visiting Alicante.
Cosy, reasonable priced hotel a bit outside of Alicante. We loved the authentic vibe of the area to get away from the touristey areas. The bus stop is just outside the hotel so easy get to/fro the city. The hotel is a bit on the smaller side so feels like a family hotel. We really enjoyed the breakfast at the terrace, and - they had cava too! :-)
It's a good location if you want to stay Away from tge Central area due to noise and crowded, it is almost in the middle of alicante airport and city with 7 kilometers each side. Hotel is sitting on the banks of sea but you can only see it as the sea side is protected by netwirs. When you check in ask for rooms facing tge sea for better view.
The location was great walking distance to the whole city. You had one side beach and the mountain with the castle and the other side the city that's alive at night with lots of bars and restaurant.
The hotel was comfortable. We had a great of the mountain from our bed. It was amazing I would recommend we definitely want to come back
The hotel is very nice, central to walking anywhere in Alicante. To beach, to Castle, marina and many restaurant options in the area. Took number C6 bus from airport and the stop was right across the street. We walked 10 minutes to the train station for our next destination. Breakfast was good, varied and continuously replenished.
A perfect location on the beachfront and within walking distance to Alicante town restaurants , hotel rooms were good size, clean and all have balconies. Hotel is opposite Alicante Marina. Food and drink were reasonably priced. Face masks are used throughout the hotel and guests not wearing them are politely reminded too.
The best thing about the hotel is the location, like nothing can beat 6-7 minute walk to the beach, and that's the highlight of the city in general. The room and the hotel is well decorated and equipped. Staff was so helpful and we have daily cleaning, so everything was great. There's a lift in the hotel as well.
location .. staff … breakfast superb.
C6 from airport stop very close to hotel.
it’s at foot of castle entrance .. easy 10 min walk to beach .. 10-15 to city centre going around castle.
lovely bar/food on way to beach with lively view over the sea. disability access to beach via lift as this area is elevated.
I had to book another hotel due to confusion about check-in, but I really do appreciate the owner of this hostel understanding the situation and refunding me and communicating with booking.com. I've stayed before about a year ago and it was fine a good hotel to stay close to the center of Alicante.
Cristian was so helpful, and prepared a homemade breakfast each morning!
In addition, the location really is a 10/10. I lived in Alicante for a couple months a few years ago and am very familiar with the neighborhoods, and this hotel puts you in the perfect location for access to everything!
The hotel staff is really helpful, they have changed one appliance the in room at our request. Also our check-in and check-out experience was very smooth, on the last day we even got couple of hours extra to enjoy Alicante as our flight was delayed.
