A 7,000 Year Old Mediterranean Jewel
Surrounded by the sandy Costa Blanca beaches and the crystalline waters of the Mediterranean Sea, Alicante has a rich heritage built over thousands of years. Alacant (as it's known in Valencian) has a deep history ranging from the first tribes that arrived at the slopes of Mount Benacantil to Greeks, Romans and Moors. Walking through the city is lovely. Beautiful city! Worth to see: the Santa Barbara Castle (the visit is free but buy the ticket for the elevator online upfront, €2,50, you save 45 min of cueing). Both Art Museums are worth seeing, both buildings are remarcable. Food is everywhere about the same, unfortunately, but affordable. It takes maybe two days to understand the whereabouts, after that you feel home in Alicante. And remember: the word "elegant" originates in this city's name!!

Not really my sort of place..
Not really my sort of place.. I was only there to hook up with family who were visiting from the uk - I live elsewhere in Spain. not much to do if you don’t want to go to the beaches. There are MANY bars and restaurants. Old town has some nice bits including g the town hall square and the castle which gives excellent views of the town and surroundings.
Service was hit and miss in quite a few places

I liked going to Santa Barbara castle.
I liked going to Santa Barbara castle. It was great to walk around.
I mostly ate at the restaurants in front of the promenade and had a good experience with all of them.
It was pretty easy to get around Alicante however I found some of the bus routes and times were incorrect on Google maps.
A great activity I recommend is to go to Tabarca Island by taking the ferry and snorkeling there.

Alicante is a beautiful coastal city with a wonderful atmosphere. It has lovely beaches, a charming old town, and a picturesque port. The weather is fantastic, the people are friendly, and there are plenty of great restaurants and cafés. Walking along the promenade and visiting Santa Bárbara Castle are must-do experiences. Alicante is the perfect destination for both relaxation and sightseeing.

Alicante had everything you need for a short or long stay , and it’s easy to travel along the coast using the Tram ,to explore other areas .
Good places to eat , Montiditos for lunch , the old town for dinner , we also ate in Ditalia ( pizza, pasta etc ) always very good .
26 floor of the Gran Sol for drinks and views ,also their restaurant is very good ,have eaten there twice.plus a few roof top bars in the old town, use google to find them .

We really enjoyed our short visit to Alicante to celebrate...
We really enjoyed our short visit to Alicante to celebrate my 60th birthday. It is a beautiful and vibrant city with lovely beaches, a picturesque marina and plenty of places to explore around the city centre. The seafront, Explanada de España and Puerta del Mar were particularly enjoyable and most attractions were within easy walking distance. We also found a good choice of vegetarian and Indian restaurants. Public transport was convenient and reasonably priced, including the C6 airport bus. Overall, Alicante is a welcoming and enjoyable city for a short break, and we would happily visit again in the future.

Excellent location, clean, good shower and very comfortable bed. This is a basic level hotel which we knew in advance and it therefore met our expectations. Do not stay here if you expect luxury. However, as a pitstop in a good location right in the city centre, near to the station, market, old town and walking distance to beach, it is a good choice. Breakfast was in the cafe next door (accessed directly from the hotel) and again it was basic but suffice (hot drink, juice and toast or croissant).

Hotel is located outside the city centre - 50 min walk - but has no. 23 bus service immediately outside which makes travel to/from the city very convenient. It is also a 20 min walk or 6-7 min bus ride to the nearest tram station and 20 min walk to Albuferta beach. Lovely informed staff. Very clean and rooms serviced daily. Pool and sun bathing area are good. Did not use restaurant but looked busy with good breakfast and dinner buffets.

nice hotel, nice breakfast on the roof. Of all the hotel options I considered, this one was the best - because there are no restaurants under the building, and this is quite rare for a noisy city that lives at night.
But in any case, you will sleep with the windows closed if you want to get a good night's sleep. However, you already understand this when you go to Alicante, which is full of life until 2-3 am :)

The hotel is very clean everywhere: rooms, pool areas, dining room, foye etc. The breakfast was really good, especially on the weekend. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. At first we were a bit consirned that we've booked too far from the historic centre and main attractions but the tram connection with the city centre turned out to be very convenient and quick.
