This region of Lazio has been hit hard in WWII. So if you are looking for medieval towns, keep looking. But it is a great place to use as a base to travel to Rome or Naples. It´s close to Montecassino and the abbey, which is a must see when you are in the area. Or visit Reggia Caserta. There is a trainstation nearby in Cassino with great links to Rome or Naples.

It is a small Italian town, fairly modern.
It is a small Italian town, fairly modern. The old city is up the hill as shown in my photo. They have a nice restaurant (La Taverna di Cupido), a pub (Veronique), a couple of Italian bars, and a weekly market. It is close to Monti Cassino which is worth the trip. There are also a few less known (& a bit father) abbeys in the area and a new winery (Palazzo Tronconi). Roccasecca is a nice old town nearby with strip of bars and restaurants. You really need a car to get around and to get here though there is a train station with local service to Rome and Naples. There is a hotel in town but just outside is a really nice B&B Casale Shanti.

Everything about this hotel was great. That staff were extremely helpful. The rooms were lovely, really modern and clean. The price was also very reasonable. I would definitely book this hotel again.
The staff were very accommodating and made me a vegetarian dish in their sea food restaurant as there wasn't anything that cattered for a vegetarian diet on the menu.
Everything was perfect for the overnight stay, on the way south.
The hotel is close to and ideal for a visit to the Abbey at Monte Cassino.
Giuseppe on reception was brilliant with his help ~ he is an absolute star !
The Kairos Hotel was so peaceful while we were there, though that may be because it was just out of season. It was comfortable and the staff were very friendly and helpful although we were not able to speak Italian.
Perfect location. Resort with large, modern and functional rooms. Restaurant, either for dinner or breakfast, highly recommended.
Private parking space for the hotel with facilities for people with reduced mobility
