The family run MuziKafe - Home of Culture is set in the centre of Ptuj’s Old City, the oldest city in Slovenia. What is there not to like?! :) MuziKafe is 1) a very charming place, 2) run by great people, and 3) full of goodness. As to 1, the building is exceptionally taken care of, down to the very last detail - I have never sat in such a gorgeous internal courtyard, full stop. Rooms have personality and one feels immediately at home. As to 2, Stanka and Igor and the rest of the crew care about their guests and hence they know when to talk, what to offer and how to support their guests. Inspiring hosts! Finally to 3, breakfasts are a joy, the rest of the offer at MuziKafe as well - thought through and enjoyable.

The Garni Hotel Terano in Maribor is an idyllic family hotel and restaurant, located at the foothills of the Pohorje Mountains, with fresh mountain air near thermal baths and the Pohorje ski region. Wonderful family run hotel where you feel at home. Rooms was comfortable and breakfast was nice; better than what you should expect from this type of hotel at this affordable price (but don't expect a spa hotel). Private ski lessons with their son are highly recommended; he had our 8 year old beginner skiing down to the chair lift in an hour. Also arranged a 5 percent discount on rental equipment. We will come back!
