Amazing place to visit.
Amazing place to visit. It was easy to get around by Bus and Taxi. Food was delicious and very reasonably priced. Butrint National park is also beautiful and a must see attraction. Some of the beaches are very nice.
Some of the beaches are very nice. The weather is very good and the food is very nice and very cheap. There are a few nice bars and clubs to go out in the evening but its not too loud. The village is still quite basic, lots of potholes and no road markings and many buildings are not permanant structures. Given the growth in the local economy I have no doubt this part of Albania will catch up very rapidly with other parts of Europe.

I loved Ksamil.
I loved Ksamil. The locals are so friendly and hospitable. Brilliant sandy beaches and the water was crystal clear. I loved Bora-Bora and Pasqyra beaches. The food is so delicious and cheap. I would definitely return soon.

If you are looking for the quite sand beach, this is not...
If you are looking for the quite sand beach, this is not your place. Try to stay in Sarande and take the bus to Ksamil just for the day. Ksamil is over crowded, every beach is a private one, and the music from the bars and hotels is too loud. Is not the quite paradise you are looking for.

About 15 to 20 years away from being what Greece and Croatia are now. The town is not set up to welcome the influx of tourists it sees. There is no real pedestrian area. It looks rough and unmaintained. It is generally very dirty (trash everywhere). It was marketed on Instagram as 'the Maldives of Europe'. It is more the 'Tenerife of the Balkans'. The water is indeed gorgeous, but every inch of beach is packed and rented out, sometime at extortionate prices. A couple of standouts: - August Beach (mostly locals, plenty of space, no overly loud music) - The Blue Water Hotel restaurant (and the staff is excellent) - Mëndra Traditional restaurant - The Mussel House restaurant Recommend renting a car and making Albania a road trip. It came with adequate size kitchen and a balcony. Beds had crisp white liens and towels, Wifi and air conditioner were excellent for us coming from Canada. The owners were always present and took very good care of guests. They offered us complimentary cold drinks when we arrived in the 3pm July heat. Eraldo speaks English, Italian and Albanian really well and we appreciated that as well as the fact that he went an extra mile for us and arranged check in at 11 am! The room was clean and had everything we were hoping for our stay. The area is very quiet and is close to the nearby beach, so you are in for a very good deal!

Paradise beach is very close - 5 minutes by walk. My wife and I chose the quietest beach - Last Bay Beach, there was no music. It takes 15 minutes to walk there. Albania is not a very clean country, but Noi Hotel is a piece of Europe in Albania. Very clean, great air conditioning, good breakfast, friendly staff - and all this for a good price.
