    Interesting town.

Interesting town. Very long commercial section boasts every type of food you can imagine. We had dinner in the Charles Dickens Pub. The food and service were very good. Our only critisim would be that it is not an accessible place for people withany kind of walikng or breathing issues.

Woodstock is an ideal base to explore the region, with a small but vibrant downtown area (including several pubs & restaurants, a casino, and a cinema), a strong focus on agriculture, and a nice city museum in the former Town Hall. The Stratford Festival, with its world-class theatre, is about forty-five minutes' drive to the north. Construction projects can make getting around town a bit tricky at times.

Didn’t like having to pay $200 deposit.

Didn’t like having to pay $200 deposit. It was refunded but i wasn’t expecting or aware that this was a requirement. It wasn’t on Booking.com when I made the reservation and I might have decided not to stay there if I had known prior to booking. Overall I was happy with the stay and would stay there again.

The location was central to the 2 golf courses we were playing - Innerkip and Craigowan Golf Club (approximately 20 klms away) plus was close to a local brewery - Upper Thames Brewery. Motel is a nice facility in a good location which has good service and is offered a good rate. I stay at this location every time I am in the Woodstock area and will again next year

i work at the hotel in vancouver, i think the front desk staff are not happy at there work. I came at the hotel at 6:30am on the 30 aug and the school of my cousin made a mistake on our booking instead of check-in 29 aug. we accept to wait because the agent say we might be able to check-in at 11am. I try my luck if i can get a room earlier than 11am. So, i went to the desk at 8:30 and the staff that just started who also was training someone told me that there are still dirty. So, waited until 9:45am to check again if there rooms that are clean already but she said there still guest in the room. She said earlier that the room are still dirty, lying to a guest will not make them happy. The room was very old and smell, the carpet was so stinky. I called the front desk, if we could change a room but they said the hotel are sold out. We stayed in a smelly room for 5days. The hotel should change old smelly carpet.

The breakfast is very good. Cereals, eggs, peanut butter, chees, cheezwhiz, toast, good coffee, juice and waffle are available which is very good for this type of hotel. We have see many hotels in this category offering only cheap coffee and banana and no chairs ... they called this Grab and Go breakfast (Very minimal breakfast) The room was clean, wipes were included for cleaning items if desired. The bed mattress was excellent, bathroom was clean all stuff in the room was working as it should.

Alida was an excellent hostess. The room was clean and comfortable. The place had the ambience and atmosphere that was advertised. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Overall, Chateau la Motte, met and exceded my expectations. I will definitely stay there again next time I am in Woodstock. If you want to stay in a beautiful old mansion and experience a bit of history and grandeur, Chateau la Motte is the place.
