We went to Kelowna for a wedding. Traveling through Kelowna is a chore. You are on the highway, but it has lights everywhere and despite 2-3 lanes, the traffic is busy. The city allowed businesses to come to the highway so it can take anywhere from 30 minutes to over 60 minutes to travel from W Kelowna to E Kelowna; poorly designed mayor/council/civil engineers!
I'm from Vancouver Island, so all the brown hills are not impressive to me. It was prettier at night. There is a nice board walk "downtown" and a section has been left for native plants/trees. There are marinas and lots of green space.
There are tons of vineyards and wineries; the wedding we attended June 2024 was at Off The Grid Organic winery. The views of the lake from up on the hill were lovely. It was a good place for a wedding and was sunny and warm.
We also went to Scandia minigolf (FUN) and the Kangaroo Creek Farm which was excellent! Many of the animals are surrender pets and they have lots of trained handlers that gave us tons of information and told us how to touch (or not touch) various animals. They have sugar gliders which are the most adorable creatures. The one we played with leapt from her handler to us and crawled up our shoulder and nuzzled in "spaces". Super cute and a highlight of our stay in Kelowna.

It is a hostel after all.
It is a hostel after all. The staff was incredibly friendly, but the other guests were quite loud, even during the supposedly "quiet hours".
If you get a top bunk, there are no outlets to charge your devices.
The toilet were ok but the bathroom was horrible: hair around and in the sink and drain, faucet were disgusting and not cleaned.

The city of Kelowna is beautiful and has everything a traveller should need. Beaches, many Restaurants and hotels down town with a great variety within walking distance, many shops etc. But prices are very expensive there for everything. A vehicle is a must to get to most attractions because it is spread out. Many vehicle rental companies at the Airport, and some bike rentals down town. I did notice some boat excursions trips offered but I didn't use. Taxi is available but I didn't need any because I had a rental vehicle

I personally live in Kelowna but my home was sold to developers and have been basically homeless for 4 months so that’s why I’ve been staying at hotels.
Kelowna is a nice place , just living here is tough . Years ago they called Kelowna “Canada’s Hawaii” because of our beautiful weather. Getting around Kelowna is easy I would say . Traffic is crazy in the summer with only one bridge in and out of town towards Penticton or Van .

Just an overnight stay on the way home.
Just an overnight stay on the way home. Airport a mess with expansion construction. Long walk to shuttle, need to improve this, I have a disability and made it very difficult. Also no airport restaurants open late, nowhere to eat if you arrive on a late flight.

Kelowna is absolutely beautiful and inviting it has all the right qualities and attractions to make anyone feel comfortable and welcome in our community. The views that surround you are breathtaking and there’s a beach or creek within a half mile to mile radius of you almost anywhere in the city. Walking paths and hiking trails are also of abundance here and there is no shortage of places to explore. Kelowna is a beautiful city and definitely worth putting in your vacation budget. Make it a big budget too a sit is a luxury that you pay for as prices are on the higher end of the markets
This was my 3rd stay at Hotel Eldorado and as usual, it didn't disappoint. We didn't even leave the resort for the duration of our stay since everything we needed was right on site - beach, pools, little bit of shopping in The Boathouse, restaurants (from casual to fine dining) and a pub!
The staff were, as always, extraordinarily, patient, kind and helpful, despite the fact that it was prime tourist season and there were a lot of people to assist!
I was thoroughly impressed. The modern rooms were spacious and clean, and the amenities were top-notch. But what really stood out to me was the exceptional customer service. Every staff member I encountered was friendly and helpful, making my stay that much more enjoyable. Plus, the hotel's convenient location made it easy to explore the city in my downtime. Overall, I highly recommend The Hyatt for anyone visiting Kelowna BC.
we always stay here when in Kelowna, ots always clean, always friendly and always great value compared to other hotels nearby. plenty of parking, the mall right across the street and just a great location. The manager is always great to deal with and friendly n real. definitely recommend if not looking for a fancy 4 star hotel n just need a clean comfy room with a big TV , plus there's a hot tub and pool both very clean!
The pet friendly vibe. 2 husky dogs and me. 0 issues even bringing them out past midnight to pee etc, wasn’t exactly quite and thankfully no complaints. Hotels in sick location , also fairly party/ bar friendly. We got back late and sure wasn’t silent. Just a good solid hotel for a good price, that legit welcomes your fur buddy’s
Location was great, super convenient with the shuttle service for our early morning flight. Pet friendly so our cat and dog were welcome and they even provide dog “scoop” baggies for when we took our dog outside. Very friendly staff. Super clean and modern room with a nice big shower. Very clean hotel and room and bathroom.
The perfect hotel! Spacious, comfortable rooms with stunning views of downtown and the lake. The included breakfast had a wide assortment of well thought out items which were all delicious. The waterfront, restaurants, shopping, and pubs are pretty much all right outside the front doors.
Very nice hotel. Reception was extremely friendly & check in was a breeze. We appreciated our room lights being turned on and the room being warmed up since we arrived at 8pm-very nice touch! We would most definitely stay here again when flying out of the Kelowna airport.
Great location in central Kelowna (note that Kelowna is VERY busy and traffic quite extraordinary). Room was quiet, comfortable, clean. Facilities at this hotel are great - pools, laundry etc.
Importantly, the staff are just lovely. A real gem of a find.
Conveniently located in the heart of downtown Kelowna, with wonderful views from the windows. Very clean and modern condo. A great indoor swimming pool with good temperature water. Very friendly and responsive owners. I would definitely stay there again!
Breakfast, rooms and hotel in general were very good. The location is fabulous and you can walk anywhere downtown in a breeze and for a long weekend it was very quiet. We appreciated the mickey pancakes that were brought out for our kiddos!
Convenience security and the only downside is the construction at the airport makes it a long walk to get the bus, but it’s beyond the hotel’s control, in the winter you will definitely need a coat. And the room amenities are excellent
Beware there is false advertising. This is not a pet friendly hotel. I specifically booked this hotel as it said it was pet friendly. We were thrown out on Saturday. It was my daughter and my baby grandchild and two small dogs.
located in the most gorgeous scenery spot in Kelowna, with all the facilities that needed in very clean condition. I can't even point out a weakness.
And you will never miss the warming pool on the top of the hotel.
Great spacious apartment and easy access to explore the campus. We did the university tour. Easy bus into downtown Kelowna from the bus depot a few minutes walk away.
The owners were extremely friendly and very helpful. They let us know where to park for the best value. They let my wife and I know about activities to do in kelowna.
