Great transportation system around Berlin, lots to see and do. We didn't stay long enough to visit all we wanted to see. We didn't realise that a lot of the restaurants only take cash but luckily were close to a cash machine the first time we were caught out. We also didn't realise that most of the shops are closed on a Sunday in Berlin - I think this is useful info to know.

Berlin has a lot for everyone. History and monuments, nightlife and restaurants, strolls and picnics - whichever mode of passing your time you prefer, they have it there. Getting about is a breeze using the city's maginificent public transport and you'll feel safe virtually wherever you go. The area of Dahlem, where the hotel is located, is also charming and green, placed in the vicinity of the Freie Universität Berling (but those who wish to commute to the city centre should know this is quite a distance from Dahlem to Mitte; the U-Bahn connection is very convenient though). I enjoyed the breakfasts, which offered a variety of food and slightly changed each day.
