This is a perfect base for exploring the Mosel river valley.
This is a perfect base for exploring the Mosel river valley. With 2-3 days to find all the sites up and down the river, from Trier, up river, or downriver to Cochem, every little town is worth a stop. I visited in early Nov. probably the visiting pick is already off (ie. no ship stop already). Treis-Karden has train station which almost all the trains from Koblenz to Trier stops (only 4-5 big stop, Treis-Karden is likely among them). Beautiful small town with slow speed and very local way of living. After sunset people go back to home. ^ ^ To Eltz burg, from Trees-Karden is possible. there is a burg bus (not so often). It is about 5-6 km, also walkable (200-300m up) with very nice view of Mosel valley.AAnonymousGermany - 6.0Scored 6.0

We were on a bike trip along the Mosel and this was probably our least favourite spot. That is not to say that it isn’t lovely just didn’t impress us like the others. We were only there one night, so hard to judge.

There is a lot to do in and near Treis-Karden.
There is a lot to do in and near Treis-Karden. There are castles nearby (a long hike to Eltz Castle runs along the apartment). In Treis you will find an interesting Church and a new playground. The shops are in Karden, at the other side of the river. There you can also find a great playground, a beer garden with minigolf and play equipment as well as the start of a boat trip. A great place!

The breakfast view is breathtaking, seems like you sit right on a river bench. All around is associated with famous German Riesling wine, all around are vineyards and small towns with rich wine culture. Cochem town is very near to the hotel, it is a great place to visit the 12th-century castle and take a tour inside. everywhere around you will find a good bottle of local wine.

The breakfast delicious and the dinner and the wine excellent. Nice swimming pool and solarium. For sure I will comeback.

Within a few minutes walk of the river. It was good to be able to eat dinner at the Pension, which has a nice menu. Friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable beds. Secure bike storage available.
