Although known for the Nuremberg Trials, this Bavarian city has a stunning medieval core of cobbled streets and half-timbered buildings that wouldn’t look out of place in a fairy tale. Sitting above this is the castle, one of the most important in the Holy Roman Empire. Take the steep walk up here for fantastic old town views.
Hauptmarkt square in the old town is home to an unusual-looking church and a Gothic fountain, spectacularly lit during the annual Nuremberg Christmas markets. Selling everything from wooden toys to lebkuchen (gingerbread), these are widely considered the best Christmas markets in Germany.
Other attractions in Nuremberg (Nürnberg in German) include the Germanisches Nationalmuseum, the country’s largest museum of culture and art. Another highlight is the Heilig-Geist-Spital, a medieval hospital by the Pegnitz River.
A word must also be said about its relationship with Nazism. On the south-east corner are the immense Nazi Rally Grounds and Party Congress Hall, built in appropriately domineering fashion. The excellent Documentation Center here is a sensitive and unbiased portrayal of life under Hitler. It is also possible to visit the courtroom where the war trials were held.
Before leaving your Booking.com apartment, hotel or hostel to go to Nuremberg Airport, don’t forget to try the spicy local sausage!
Transportation was perfect and convenient. Stores and restaurants were wonderful. Museums, marketplaces, and other businesses were great. People were friendly and everyone we encountered spoke English and were very helpful. I love visiting Nuremberg - seeing the mixture of old and modern architecture is wonderful!

A very beautiful city with excellent options for everyone: long walks in the parks or on the river banks and beautiful bridges; historic sites, castle and interesting museums; beautiful streets and wonderful traditional houses; monuments and statues; nice shopping streets with low and high end shops and brands; lively restaurants and terraces with great food options. It really has everything you could want for a great holiday . Do not miss the castle, Dürer house, Germanisches nationalmuseum, Fembohaus. As well, take the train to Bamberg, a real jewel city, just 40 minutes away.

The Documentation Center at the Nazi parade grounds is a must see. Very well done and manageable. Only takes 30 mins to an hour. The Palace of Justice wasn't open when we were there. Would have liked to see that.

Nuremberg is a fantastic city with museums, churches and history. The Old town of Nuremberg is it´s heart and soul. An excellent place to walk and explore with fantastic shopping opportunities for all people. Nuremberg also has great restaurants. I also love Konigstrasse with all the boutique shops and vegtable market stalls selling fresh fruits and vegetables. Don´t miss the bratwurst restaurants near to the Tourist office at the end of Königstrasse.

I went to Nuremberg to research the National Archives.
I went to Nuremberg to research the National Archives. This went well leaving time to accompany my wife doing some tourism. The city is delightful and the people are very friendly. The only tourists we saw were of the more intellgent selective type. The town has much of its mediaeval buildings with very careful rebuilding in the 1950's. We ate very well in several restaurants. Fantastic street markets and museums. The Castle (Burg) is well worth a visit as is the National Museum.

Great public transport via the U Bahn and S Bahn.
Great public transport via the U Bahn and S Bahn. A spotlessly clean and safe city. Lovely food, coffee and beer to suit all budgets. Unique architectural styles in the old town. Wunderbar! Bierwerk is a must see place in the aldstadt near the river.
Good hotel, with an excellent location, right next to the Albrecht-Dürer-Haus, in the beautiful Old Town of Nürnberg.
Was there during a street music festival, at which it felt like the entire town gathered on the streets of the Old Town - great atmosphere and even better, it took 2 minutes to reach the hotel :) Plus, once the windows were closed, it was really quiet, so the partying on the street which kept going late in the night did not bother at all.
The fact that the hotel has its own parking garage is great!
This little hotel is a gem, tucked away on a side street across from the Old Town wall and just an easy 5 minute walk from the Hbf. It’s spotless, charming, comfortable, staffed by the nicest people and about half the price of everything else nearby. The only negative was that my room was not air conditioned, but that’s rarely a problem in Nurnberg. During the daytime, the room was still comfortably cool and nights with the windows open were Heaven. There was little traffic or noise from the street just below.
It was my first time at this hotel. I’ve stayed numerous times at the SORAT Hotel Saxx Nürnberg. Both are in the Sorat Family of hotels which I like very much. Consistent comfort, cleanliness and service is provided.
I really liked the breakfast buffet. It was obvious that the buffet team and especially its leader really enjoy their work and the customers. They took pride in the food and service.
(I stayed two separate times here during my May 2022 Germany vacation.)
This hotel is in an excellent location, literally just minutes from a lovely part of town. The very adorable little medieval town is just next door and old town is wonderful. Staff were exceptional and the bar downstairs was fantastic. Room was lovely, very clean and modern, albeit a bit small but we were only there one night so it didn’t really matter. I think if we were there for a few nights we’d need a bigger space. Highly recommend this hotel.
Comfortable rooms, although the carpets might like a bit more care while cleaning, the overall cleanliness was very good and I would definitely come back again if staying in Nurnberg. The hotel was around 45 min walking distance from the City Centre and there was public transport available as well. Good selection of food for breakfast.
It is located at the city centre. You can get whatever you need around the hotel. It’s next to the church, so it’s very quiet during our stay even though the Christmas Market is nearby. The breakfast is good. They refilled the food accordingly even though it is nearly the end of the time for breakfast.
The hotel is located under 5 mins walk from the main train station and also very walkable to the old town area. Room and bathroom was quite small but clean and comfortable. Breakfast was standard fare with enough options and quite tasty. Room was ready for early check-in for an additional charge.
Everything! The room was large, comfy, and quiet. Breakfast was great, with many hot and cold selections. The location was right in the middle of old town.
Parking was available under the hotel. If there hadn't been room, 2 public lots are adjacent to the hotel.
Great stay!
Excellent apartment, well equipped and comfortable. Warm welcome at check-in. Perfect location, short walk (15 min) to main train station where the old town starts. Lots of restaurants and grocery stores around. Secure parking at the back of the hotel (in a courtyard).
The hotel was conveniently located in the old town close to the main market, the castle, the walls and plenty of great restaurants. Our room was spacious and included a sitting area and mini fridge. Breakfast options were varied.
The Franconia city hotel is in a great location in the city. The room was laid out beautifully and breakfast was wonderful. The owner provided great travel advice and our time in Nuremberg was my favorite stop in Germany.
This hotel is located in a beautiful neighborhood in the old town and few minutes away from city centre. The personnel is very friendly, helpful and did more than enough to offer us a great stay.
Highly recommended!
It is perfect for one night. The room is very small, but has everything you need. The hotel is new. There is a metro station next to the hotel with a great connection to the city centre.
Nice hotel in a quiet location but only 10 minutes walk from the Old town. The rooms were large and comfortable with a lovely bathroom. Very family and pet friendly.
A good hotel within walking distance of transport and the old town. Lovely warm room, comfortable bed, good water pressure in the shower. Friendly staff.
