avoid this place if you want to walk around Barcelona.
avoid this place if you want to walk around Barcelona. train ride is 1 hr., taxis cost around $60 to Barcelona, bus is horrible. Beach lovers - this place is yours. Limited good restaurants. Breakfast buffet is the same everyday- ok w fruits. Buffet dinner is ok but not your top notch selection. can be noisy - rooms are thin. However, shout out to the pleasant front desk representatives !! they were the best part of this hotel.

Calella is the perfect choice if you want to combine the visits to Barcelona with hanging out on the beach and swimming. There is a railroad by the sea, with frequent trains, that can take you to Barcelona in 45-ish minutes, or for example, to city of Figueras, where you can visit the Salvador Dali museum. The recurrent ticket costs 10 euros. You can use it to visit other places (other beaches) on Costa Brava, there are 10-15 beautiful public beaches and all of them look awesome. In Calella you have plenty of restaurants and bars, that offer both Spanish food (paella, tapas, etc...) or "classic" - burgers, pizza, fish plates. The place is not too big so you'll get around easy, as the people are willing to talk and show directions.

A busy tourist beachside town with plenty of choice for restaurants bars etc as well as the usual holidays shops. The main shopping area is pedestrianised so thats great but for me too crowded and busy, a sort of Spanish Benalmadena without the nonsense, clean, no drinks and no nonsense

Calella beach was very clean and stretches for a few miles before it joins the next resort and didn’t get overcrowded. Nice restaurants and bars and the town is much quieter than Lloret which was a pleasant surprise. Would recommend a visit and would definitely go back.
It is easy to walk around the narrow streets and along the promenade to the next resorts along the coast. We didn’t hire the free bikes as we preferred to walk but the offer of free bike hire is definitely a bonus offered by the hotel.
The best thing about this hotel was the location, close to the beach and bars and restaurants, one day the kids club organised for us to go to the beach for a foam party which was brilliant but apart from that there wasnt much of a kids club to entertain a 8 year old . Check in was fast and efficient and the reception staff were great and helpful when you asked for anything , the rooms were a reasonable size and modern and clean with everything you needed.
Hotel is located on the first line to the beach. The rooms are simple, but met our expectations as we enjoyed activities outdoors un used hotel room only for a sleepover. The value for the price in my opinion is exceptional as there were breakfast and dinner included into our room rate. The staff was very friendly especially security guy Jonas that worked during the nights and greeted me with a coffee every morning before I took off for my bicycle ride.
Great location, very central in Calella, only few mimutes away from the centre.
The breakfast is great.. very good and tasty!! The staff very polite, helpful and informative.
The rooms are big enough, I had a single one with a terrace and quiet. Cleaning status was excellent.
I fully recommend it.
Bus stop to Barcelona city/airport and near village locations: in only 3 minutes.
Train station: around 15/20 minutes walk.
I chose the hotel Colibri in Calella because of good price and location, very close to the sea and was very satisfied, the hotel is after renovation, so all is new and clean. The breakfast is included, very delicious and coffee is the theist I’ve ever drink. The beach is near, Calella is perfect place for the rest, near hotel there are : good shops, the park, church, fast train to Barcelona
So much to love about this hotel - it was very new & modern looking, pool area was lovely - the main pool area doesn’t get much sun but for €10 you can use the roof top pool & bar which is really luxe and well worth the extra money. Rooms were beautiful, stylish & clean. Comfy beds. Lovely balcony.
Nice budget hotel very close to the beach. The room was small but clean & had a big balcony. The staff were helpful and friendly &
The buffet breakfast was very good. Best part was the price. I stayed here during the Ironman & only booked it a few weeks before & it was exceptional value.
Very friendly staff, our hotel room was clean and tidy. We had access to the hotel roof which is superb and also the spa with sauna. On the beach we had free sits with sunshade. The location is great and we could use the hotel parking. The breakfast had many options.
The staff was extremely friendly and made everything possible to make our stay comfortable. I was there for the IRONMAN Barcelona and the location of the hotel couldn't be any better. On race day, they prepared an excellent breakfast for the athletes.
We had a really lovely stay. The view from tha balcony was quit nice. The breakfast was good and lot of options. And the beach was across the road from the hotel. The trainstation was also very close if you want to go for a quick visit to Barcelona.
The looks, proximity to town and beach, the restaurant buffets. Hotel lobby is gorgeous. Restaurant is loud but good vibe. Parking is on the street, but free! Room is spacious. And it smells good! Great pool too…
Price is very reasonable!
Second year in this hotel, it's perfect. The hotel rooms are getting cleaned every day, beds are comfortable, terrace is great. Location is just 3 minutes walk to the beach which is perfect. Food was amazing, very well served as a buffet.
Nice, clean hotel. Value for money and for a short stay was perfect for what we needed. It’s right on the beach and a 2 minute walk from town however we kept the door open all night and we couldn’t hear the noise from town at all.
Nice room, very good bathroom, everything is clean. 2 minutes to the beach and the restaurants. Friendly staff. Exceptional breakfast. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
Everything, nice staff, super clean and every day room make up, perfect breakfast, nice swimming pool & jacuzzi. I wold like to give 4* for the hotel services and staff.
Location is right by the beach within a walking distance so as Main Street. Hotel was able to accommodate a room right next to my parents room with free upgrade.
