The Barcelo Sants hotel is a unique hotel with a futuristic space theme throughout. The rooms were clean and modern, and there were little touches and inspirational messages in the rooms and common areas that carried through with the space theme as well as green/environmental efforts. The buffet breakfast was excellent and offered a nice variety in addition to a cook-to-order egg station. It was a little expensive, but the agent offered a special price at check-in. The beds were comfortable, the shower was great, and the room was spotless. The location is great if you are traveling in or out of Sants Station, and the hotel was easily accessed from the station. The neighborhood around the station was okay, and there were several restaurants and cafes in the area. That said, if you are interested in overall sightseeing in Barcelona and want to walk (vs. using the metro), then there are other hotel options with more central locations.

We really enjoyed the architecture of Antoni Gaudi and in particular the Sagrada Familia. We found the gothic section very crowded. The transit system is amazing: efficient, safe, inexpensive and clean. Buy a month pass as it gets you to and from the airport without a surcharge.

Barcelona is a great place to stop and visit Gaudi’s buildings. This man is a genius and his work breathtaking. Barcelona has tapa bars, cafe’s, restaurants, bars, shops, pharmacies on every street. There are so many places to explore and the Gothic Quarter is more than I had expected in a good way. Everything is walkable and if you get tired of walking the metro is easy and cheap to use. I found eating out to be affordable, but the cost of hotels is pricer compared to Valencia. The streets are clean, we never had any concerns about being picked pocketed because we kept our valuables in zipped pockets in front; however we did meet someone who had his cell phone stolen from his back pocket during our tapa and wine tour so just be aware of your surroundings. Most people working spoke english and if they didn’t we used the google translator to help us.

Barcelona is a lively yet comfortable city. I enjoyed stopping at cafes to take a break from walking. I enjoyed the sites but found that meeting people and enjoying the city’s culture, food and history most enjoyable. The city history museum was absolutely wonderful.

Loved our three days in Barcelona and wished we could have stayed longer. Must-sees include Sagrada Familia, Gothic Quarter, Montjuic, and Monserrat. Do the "Taverns, Tapas, and History" tour by Devour. So much good food everywhere. Good metro system. Loved where we stayed on Ramblas Catalunya a couple of blocks north of the Placa.

Barcelona is a rather brash and noisy city very much...
Barcelona is a rather brash and noisy city very much oriented around tourism. It's main claim to fame is bars, beaches and architecture. I thought it expensive compared to Madrid although some things could be cheap.
The Metro is good although its layout can be confusing at times.
I liked "Sisters" cafe near Hospital Sant Pau for breakfasts and Bocine bar near Sagrada Familia for a casual beer and Tapas.
I particularly liked Gaudi's Casa Batllo house and the extraordinary Palau de la Musica Catalana for their architecture. The latter was hard to find but putting on some good concerts. The cable car rides were good fun and reasonably priced.
I got ripped-off by a doubtful ticket seller for the Sagrada Familia; I can only advice that visitors be sure to buy a ticket in advance from the Official website. Don't expect there to be any tickets available on the door!
The hotel has so many things to offer, so to me, the price was actually cheap (taking into account that we reserved for the same day).
Sauna, pool, nice restaurant and bar. The room itself was really comfy. The bed was SIMPLY THE BEST from my whole stay in Spain. Room service and food was ok, but I would recommend to go to the restaurant since its super nice and of course they have a better menu there. The wifi was working perfectly and we didn't know but the Best Western offers a free shuttle to the airport!! what a nice suprise.
The hotel is near the city center and all public transportation stations, including subway, bus and airport bus. It’s really convenient and safe. All places are super clean, modern and good-smell. The breakfast is so good that you can have everything you want as a buffet! All the staff are really friendly and kind. It was a heavy rainy day and the reception gave us a umbrella for free. Thanks a million! I’d like to recommend to anyone who wants to book a place in Barcelona! It’s worth it!
- we've been traveling to Spain / Barcelona for 7 years and saw many hotels and apartments. This one was the best.
- we live in apartments with 1 hall and 1 bedroom, it was quite spacious for the family with 2 kids.
- breakfast was great and placed in the 19th (or may be 18th) century designed hall in the main building.
- apartments have a great location - close to Goethic quarter and the harbor
- its was a bit expensive but I'm sure only due to high demand (July)
Modern clean hotel in very convenient location if using Barcelona Sants train station. Nearby metro only a few stops into the city centre and also to Sagrada Familia. Reception very friendly, with a welcome drink on arrival. Breakfast was excellent (cheaper on check in than if booked in advance) - large buffet with hot and cold food, juice, fruit, coffee, omelettes made to order. Room was spacious with large comfy bed, complimentary bottles of water.
The staff was great and helpful. they gave us useful tips and treated us well (shoutout to Jose, he was so kind).
The location is 5 minute walk from the metro and an airport bus station (placa espana), it is not in the town center and you do need to use the metro to travel but we were prepared for it and found it easy to use.
There is a nice coffee shop underneath the hotel.
It was a lot cheaper then hotels in the city center and served us well.
This hotel/hostel was just great for a quick trip to Barcelona! Super comfy, clean and modern room, with a person to receive us and hold our keys at reception 24/7, great security, and a nice common area.
The best part is the location - it's in a super nice and quiet part of the city, but close enough to walk to the center, super close to the main streets of Barcelona, and super close to the bus stop to the airport. Couldn't have asked for better!
Staff were incredibly friendly. I came in very late, but staff was able to advice me, greeted me with great energy and support me with the questions.
Safe and amazing location.
Great facilities.
Best hostel I have been!!!
Honestly this was highlight of my trip. Compared to staff in other proper hotels in Spain rude and staff of this hostel were the best people ever!!! Honestly would come back again 100%!
40eur per a night
Clean and large room
Really City center and close to Arab street and beach
Staff can be nicer if you say that we give you best comment on website with all 5 star rates
5eur for 2 persons each rental bike that was really good to rent for us.
Overall, this hotel is the best affordable place to stay in Barcelona for sure.
We will highly recommend it to other tourists.
This was a lovely hotel on a quiet street very close to the Arc de Triomf in Barcelona. The bed in our room was heavenly. The morning breakfast included just about anything you could want to eat and the staff was welcoming and kind. We came to find out that Catalonia is a chain of hotels in Spain. This one felt more like a boutique hotel. We enjoyed our stay very much.
Our first visit to Barcelona- this hotel exceeded our expectations. This well maintained facility and super friendly staff made our visit delightful.
The metro stop is right in front of the hotel. Perfect for getting anywhere in the city.
The hotel is in the center of so many shops and restaurants it’s easy to spend a day without having to go far.
Located in the city center this hotel was perfect for our family. Very clean and comfortable room. Pool was a bonus as it was very hot during our stay and we enjoyed cooling off after a day of sightseeing. The bar/snack bar next to the pool was very good. Breakfast was the best we ever had compared to stays at other European hotels.
The location of the hostel is very convenient: being very close to a metro station allowed us to comfortably reach the airport and the city center. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff was helpful. I would recommend this hostel for travelers on a budget who want to easily explore Barcelona.
The Hotel Derby is an excellent choice if you want to be in the city but away from the hustle and bustle in the city center. The hotel is very elegant with beautiful rooms. the customer service is excellent. I highly recommend this hotel and look forward to returning on my next trip to Barcelona.
Location is excellent! Super close to the Arc de Triomf and a bakery and a great restaurant next door. I have stayed in other hotels in Barcelona and this one really was the best! Saurina was extremely helpful with recommendations around the city and super friendly as well.
Very pleasantly surprised. Hotel very good value for Barcelona. We were only staying 1 night because we had a flight booked for next day ro Northern Spain but the hotel suited us perfectly. Good breakfast also. Would definitely book again.
Loved the hotel. Absolutely beautiful very comfortable beds and lots of Spanish charm. Perfect location near lots of great shopping and food with access to main roads. On a quiet street best sleep I had traveling Spain.
The hotel is modern and clean, and in a perfect location within Barcelona city center. Room is sufficiently equipped and the staff were helpful and friendly for both check-in and check-out.
Would definitely recommend!
