Surrounded by the sandy Costa Blanca beaches and the crystalline waters of the Mediterranean Sea, Alicante has a rich heritage built over thousands of years. Alacant (as it's known in Valencian) has a deep history ranging from the first tribes that arrived at the slopes of Mount Benacantil to Greeks, Romans and Moors. Nowadays, this modern city features a bustling harbor, great Spanish nightlife, charming old streets and modern beach resorts.
Overlooking the city from the top of Mount Benacantil, the Castle of Santa Barbara was built during Islamic rule in the 9th century. Cascading down the slopes towards the center of the city, L'Ereta Park has terraced levels that offer stunning panoramic views of the city. The remains of the ancient Roman town of Lucentum are also just a few miles away.
Barrio de la Santa Cruz is the historic quarter, featuring narrow streets, old houses and cobbled steps. Framed by palm trees and covered with a snaking pattern of white, red and blue tiles, the Explanada de Espana is considered one of Spain’s most beautiful promenades.
After arriving at Alicante Airport, indulge yourself in a resort near San Juan beach, or enjoy the view of luxurious yachts moored at the marina from a cozy B&B: Booking.com has the perfect spot for you to discover the magic of Alicante!

It was the start of a fiesta period when we arrived so lots of parades going on. Lots of the usual cafes, bars, restaurants and shops. Added bonus for a city is the beach by the lovely harbour area. A castle a fort and a lovely church/ cathedral are all worth visiting. Also has a bullring but we didn’t go.

Alicante is a great place for a break.
Alicante is a great place for a break. The views from Castle Santa Barbara overlooking the city are amazing, and there is a lively Old Town (El Barrio) with a wide selection of bars and restaurants. It's great to have a drink in one of the bars by the port and the two main beaches, Playa del Postiguet and San Juan, are clean and spacious.

Underrated as a destination - most folks seem to fly into Alicante and go elsewhere; they are missing out!
Great beach, excellent bars and restaurants. Recommended bars: Austins (excellent value cocktails), Red Corner sports bar for beers after a walk around town, Restaurante la Taverna Dell´ Artista for gluten free meals. Cafe Al Carrtoccio (C. de la Virgen del Socorro) for excellent and cheap coffee with a sea view.
A big, big plus was gluten free food and beer - everyone was aware, and people really took care of my wife's celiac disease requirements.
The old town is great for wandering around, a great castle, and a great beach.

Alicante is quite a small city but it is beautiful.
Alicante is quite a small city but it is beautiful. There is so much to do and see and the beaches are stunning. The cost of food and drinks on average are ok however there are some bars and restaurants especially on the beach that cost double of those in the city centre. Don’t be afraid to ask the cost before you purchase.

Barbara Castle: walk up or get a lift (€3, over 65's free), historuc, good views. City walking tour by locals brought us to old town places we would have missed. MUBAG Art Museum had a Dali exhib, Portraits in a lovely old building. Trams are great for Costa Blanca beaches. Good bus services. Trains to Murcia. Music @ Teatro Principal as a Jazz festival was on (April). Very good restaurants - fish & seafood eg Dorada / Bream, Prawns; Tapas - we were happy with all our meals.
Location was ideal, just behind Alicante food market and five minutes walk from the airport bus drop off! Hotel was quite small, but nothing wrong with that. Room was fine and clean. Staff weren't particularly fairly and didn't really want to engage. Noone spoke much English. But then again it is Alicante, not Skegness, so fair enough. Close to the city centre, the train and to the sea front. Plenty of amenities in the vicinity both shops, bakeries and restaurants. Not much not to like!
It was a very clean and well kept hotel. The staff were very friendly. There was a lovely pool area and the breakfast was mainly continental but lots of options and nice coffee. The area is not near many other amenities... However across the road there are some decent dining options and clubs.Everything else is a walk or a tram ride away. But if you don't want to be based in Alicante it is a good option
Nice comfortable bed good aircon and a spacious bathroom area.
Perfectly located between beach / harbour area and the shops/restaurants, this hotel boasts the best location to explore all Alicante city has to offer. The bus stop for the airport is a short 3 min walk away. The hotel is spotlessly clean and offers a fantastic breakfast. The rooftop bar is small but offers lovely views of the castle and the city lit up at nighttime. While this hotel is more expensive than others in Alicante it is worth paying the little extra
I had an amazing time at Eurostars Centrum Alicante. The staff was helpful and kind, the room was clean and comfortable, and breakfast was very good, offering a wide range of options for any taste. The hotel is situated at 5 mins from a bus stop which is very well connected with airport and other parts of the city, and it is a 15-min walk from the city centre. I definitely recommend it!
Location was the most important aspect when searching for Alicante accommodation & Balmis delivered fully . We wanted the Spanish feel to our break so chose apartment rather than hotel - the apartment gave us just that . A 5 minute stroll from both the City Centre & the harbour front but on a quiet peaceful square . A choice of places to eat beyond all expectation .
Good location if you don't drive a car, in the city center. I have stayed in Alicante before at other locations and Hotel Cervantes is so far the best. Always someone behind the desk and very polite. The room was very clean and comfortable for the price. Free coffee and crossiant in the morning. I know where to stay next time. Thank You.
The hotel is very nice, central to walking anywhere in Alicante. To beach, to Castle, marina and many restaurant options in the area. Took number C6 bus from airport and the stop was right across the street. We walked 10 minutes to the train station for our next destination. Breakfast was good, varied and continuously replenished.
location .. staff … breakfast superb.
C6 from airport stop very close to hotel.
it’s at foot of castle entrance .. easy 10 min walk to beach .. 10-15 to city centre going around castle.
lovely bar/food on way to beach with lively view over the sea. disability access to beach via lift as this area is elevated.
Located in the heart of the city with plenty of things going on around the area. We took a bus from the Airport to Alicante which dropped us very close to the Hotel late at night but felt safe walking in the area. Breakfast was very good and more than adequate to keep us going for the day.
Fantastic location, in the historic city centre but at the same time, very well connected with the airport. Hotel surrounded by the best bars and restaurants in town. Very nice breakfasts and amazing coffee. The Staff at the reception has been very nice and helpful.
Quiet, clean hotel, handy for Alicante`s main bus station, (a few minutes walk away) which is also a dropping off point for the bus from the airport.
Spacious room
Supermarket just opposite
A good little coffee bar on the way down to the bus station
The hotel staff is really helpful, they have changed one appliance the in room at our request. Also our check-in and check-out experience was very smooth, on the last day we even got couple of hours extra to enjoy Alicante as our flight was delayed.
Breakfast was plentiful and varied.
We had adjoining rooms
Proximity to the beach was excellent
Pool area was beautiful
Staff in all areas of the hotel were courteous and friendly
Proximity to Alicante city was accessible by tram or bus
I only stay at apartments when I travel. This apartment was by far the best one in Alicante that I have ever stayed at. It was so well equipped and comfortable. Excellent location. I have already booked it for next year.
Location very good, Personnel very helpful and friendly. Breakfast tasty and good choice. Laura from clients relations front desk is courteous and very helpful. In general the hotel is a good place to stay in Alicante.
very clean apt , tram to Benidorm or Alicante center across street! Owner very prompt and helpful for check in. Beach a few ft away. Best stay so far in my 30 days in Spain. This is my 5th apt stay.
Best view over the city, cosy and comfortable apartment, the landlord was nice talking to and he was highly professional in his doing. We can recommend this flat in this lively town of Alicante.
Excellent staff and impeccable hotel. Probably the best hotel bed I have had the pleasure of sleeping in. Location is also excellent, 5 minute walk from the beach. Definitely staying again!
Cheap and close to the city centre - we walked all around Alicante from the apartment. Near train station, which was very useful for us staying one night.
