Surrounded by the sandy Costa Blanca beaches and the crystalline waters of the Mediterranean Sea, Alicante has a rich heritage built over thousands of years. Alacant (as it's known in Valencian) has a deep history ranging from the first tribes that arrived at the slopes of Mount Benacantil to Greeks, Romans and Moors. Nowadays, this modern city features a bustling harbor, great Spanish nightlife, charming old streets and modern beach resorts.
Overlooking the city from the top of Mount Benacantil, the Castle of Santa Barbara was built during Islamic rule in the 9th century. Cascading down the slopes towards the center of the city, L'Ereta Park has terraced levels that offer stunning panoramic views of the city. The remains of the ancient Roman town of Lucentum are also just a few miles away.
Barrio de la Santa Cruz is the historic quarter, featuring narrow streets, old houses and cobbled steps. Framed by palm trees and covered with a snaking pattern of white, red and blue tiles, the Explanada de Espana is considered one of Spain’s most beautiful promenades.
After arriving at Alicante Airport, indulge yourself in a resort near San Juan beach, or enjoy the view of luxurious yachts moored at the marina from a cozy B&B: Booking.com has the perfect spot for you to discover the magic of Alicante!

It was the start of a fiesta period when we arrived so lots of parades going on. Lots of the usual cafes, bars, restaurants and shops. Added bonus for a city is the beach by the lovely harbour area. A castle a fort and a lovely church/ cathedral are all worth visiting. Also has a bullring but we didn’t go.

Alicante is a great place for a break.
Alicante is a great place for a break. The views from Castle Santa Barbara overlooking the city are amazing, and there is a lively Old Town (El Barrio) with a wide selection of bars and restaurants. It's great to have a drink in one of the bars by the port and the two main beaches, Playa del Postiguet and San Juan, are clean and spacious.

Underrated as a destination - most folks seem to fly into Alicante and go elsewhere; they are missing out!
Great beach, excellent bars and restaurants. Recommended bars: Austins (excellent value cocktails), Red Corner sports bar for beers after a walk around town, Restaurante la Taverna Dell´ Artista for gluten free meals. Cafe Al Carrtoccio (C. de la Virgen del Socorro) for excellent and cheap coffee with a sea view.
A big, big plus was gluten free food and beer - everyone was aware, and people really took care of my wife's celiac disease requirements.
The old town is great for wandering around, a great castle, and a great beach.

Alicante is quite a small city but it is beautiful.
Alicante is quite a small city but it is beautiful. There is so much to do and see and the beaches are stunning. The cost of food and drinks on average are ok however there are some bars and restaurants especially on the beach that cost double of those in the city centre. Don’t be afraid to ask the cost before you purchase.

Barbara Castle: walk up or get a lift (€3, over 65's free), historuc, good views. City walking tour by locals brought us to old town places we would have missed. MUBAG Art Museum had a Dali exhib, Portraits in a lovely old building. Trams are great for Costa Blanca beaches. Good bus services. Trains to Murcia. Music @ Teatro Principal as a Jazz festival was on (April). Very good restaurants - fish & seafood eg Dorada / Bream, Prawns; Tapas - we were happy with all our meals.
Pros: The location was great for us though it's not in the city center. There are two other Eurostar Hotels in Allicante but for us this was the best location. It's an easy walk from the rail station. Close to El Corte Inglés for shopping.
The room was very clean, check-in quick and easy, and the WiFi excellent. We liked our room on the 8th floor with lots of space - the terrace is huge but it was too chilly when we were there to use it much. The fitness room is small but has good equipment and mats for stretching or yoga.
I have been in many holiday apartments and studios but never one as outstanding as this. It must be the apartment with the most complete inventory in Spain. The location is superb, cross the street to the beach, walk 2 minutes tot Alicante center, sit in the sun on the balcony, 2 bathrooms and very comfortable beds, everything you seek on your holiday you will find here. Your gentleman-host Miguel can answer your every question and keeps in contact by whatsapp, he is one more reason to choose for this apartment
Hotel is located outside the city centre - 50 min walk - but has no. 23 bus service immediately outside which makes travel to/from the city very convenient. It is also a 20 min walk or 6-7 min bus ride to the nearest tram station and 20 min walk to Albuferta beach. Lovely informed staff. Very clean and rooms serviced daily. Pool and sun bathing area are good. Did not use restaurant but looked busy with good breakfast and dinner buffets.
This place is excellent both if you want to explore the historic center of the city and if you want to relax on the beach. The majority of museums and main sightseeing places are within comfortable walking distance.
The staff is very helpful and kind. Rooms are cleaned every day. Very delicious breakfast is served. Great variety of Nespresso coffee is available. The rooftop swimming pool and bar area are free to use whenever you wish.
B&B hotels are always reliable and at a very reasonable price. Great service by the friendly staff, who are multilingual. Great breakfast on premises, comfy rooms and beds. The hotel is out of the way from the city center, which makes it quiet, and it's also quite near to the beaches south of Alicante, where you can find nice little beach front restaurants and clean beaches. Would definitely stay again!
Breakfast It’s the perfect blend of local flavors and international favorites, ensuring there’s something for everyone. Room at the hotel are a blend of comfort and elegance. The hotel’s location is its biggest asset. It’s a stone’s throw away from key attractions and business centers. The convenient location makes it easy for guests to explore the city, whether they’re here for leisure or work.
Central location right on the beach and a short walk from restaurants and tourist attractions. Huge hotel complex popular with guests from all over the world. Example of mass tourism on an industrial scale. Our Junior Suite was high quality, bright, modern, comfortable and with breathtaking views of city skyline, beach and the ocean. Tasty breakfast buffet with countless choice
I loved the mattress, it was firm and great.
I liked the staff. They were all very friendly and the receptionists very accommodating.
The design of the lobby and restaurant + bar was great.
There's a bus stop right in front of the hotel taking you East. Another bus stop behind the hotel for Alicante city centre.
Great location of the hotel, close to the beach and city centre. The staff is really helpful and friendly. They tried their best to check us in earlier because we have a baby. The room was bigger than we expected and clean. Breakfast is good with lots of options Overall a great stay.We are definitely going back again.
The location was absolutely perfect. Basically on the beach and in very close proximity to many restaurants, shops and the city centre. The host was gentleman with whom we have nothing but good things to say about. The apartment did also exceed our expectations in terms of attractiveness, location and price.
Wow!
Excellent place to stay, close to the city centre, beach, supermarket and restaurants.
Stated in many places in Alicante and this is the best so far. It has everything you need and more. We stayed in the penthouse room. It
was big, spacious and clean.
Excellent location in the centre of Alicante. Easy access to restaurants, bars, shops, beach, galleries and beach. Perfect location.
Room of a high standard and very clean.
We only had hotel breakfast on one day but good breakfast food and drink choices.
Good location very close to the city centre and mushrooms Street, nice restaurants and caffes in the area.
Staff are friendly and helpful.
Very clean hotel.
Bus direct to the airport across the road.
Beautiful hotel. About 30min taxi from Alicante Airport cost us €45. Staff was very kind and accommodating. Please note checkin is at 4pm. Breakfast was plenty. Beach is a 10min walk downhill.
Very clean, quiet. Nice little common area with small outdoor balcony (one person at a time). Very helpful staff. Rooms are quite small, but decent for the price in Alicante.
After these many travels, I would say you can find something even inn5 star hotels, but I think here deserves more than 6.5. At least, I recommend for winter which I stayed.
