We liked that we were at the quieter end of Benalmadena.
We liked that we were at the quieter end of Benalmadena. We walked the 5 or so miles to Fuengirola and got the train back to the nearest station which is Torremuelle. To get to Torremuelle station from our apartment you have to climb up a hill but coming back by train meant an easier walk downhill.
We enjoyed the Yucas cafe which wasn't too far away.
We found it easy to get around, especially after we found out about the 'tap in and tap out with a bank card' for train tickets. That was handy because the ticket machine at Torremuelle doesn't work.
Having previously spent time in rural Spain where we visited lots of pueblos blancos we wouldn't return to Benalmadena Pueblo or Mijas which are now a bit too touristy. Having said that - the whole of the Costa del Sol is extremely touristy. I think what I mean is that I'm glad we've seen the more unspoiled, authentic white villages than the Pueblo or Mijas.

For me and my wife and dogs, Benalmádena was not the right place. I stayed at the Flatotel which was too far from anything useful and we were overcharged. We personally didnt find anything we were looking for in Benalmádena. We stayed 2 nights and were ready to leave the first day.

Benalmadena has shops and restaurants but not too busy. It's convenient for the train station and nearby resorts eg Torremolinos.
We like walking, so it's great for that, along the prom is great for wheelchairs etc, but some areas are up hill.

The beaches are nice and lengthy good for morning or evening strolls. The town is full of restaurants, beach clubs, shops... But everything intended to the British and Dutch mainly. The old town is typical Andalusian style but it is a bit far from the beach and not so pretty. Apart from the entertainment and tourist locations around the port and the beach, there is not much to do or see, it has great connections by urban bus to nearby towns and the city of Malaga though.

A Beautiful place, ideal setting with the large marina and lovely Sandy beach nearby.
We took a ferry across to Fuengirola one day which was very nice, and we also walked along the promenade into Torremolinos.
We booked the hotel very last minute and arrived one hour later.
The checkin was the easiest and most organised we have so far experienced.
The room was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed.
Breakfast serving has a great choice of foods.
We used the indoor, outdoor pools and the hot tub….. the sauna wasn’t running during our stay.
This hotel is a minutes walk from the port and is in an ideal location.
We won’t hesitate to book this hotel again and will definitely book for longer.
The room was big and the view from window of the sea was amazing. The breakfast had loads of options and quality wise I rate it really top. Price wise, it is a definitely better pick than competitors as I found the comfort for holidays. There are plenty of options inside and around the hotel for tourists. Parking may be limited at the hotel but the staff is very friendly and try to accomodate you to their level best. I will definitely come back again on my tour to Malaga and surroundings.
A charming apartment, both with its views and the amenities it offers. Very clean, it feels like home because it has everything you need from an iron to garbage bags. Easy and adequate communication with the host, with access code and key. You don't strain yourself to look for something else.
Great views of the sea, the Costa, the Pueblo and the Arroyo.
Close to bus stop, supermarket, center and train station of Benalmadena. Great location. I recommend!
Very large family orientated hotel with great facilities. You could spend your whole time here and the family would be very content. Loads of choice in the main restaraunt for all inclusive. Great facility across the road for younger and older kids in the various water features. Loads of space inside if the weather isn't great and it never felt too packed around the pool. Good security around the pool at night to keep small children safe.
Pleasant staff, nice extra touches eg cava when checking in & complimentary tea/coffee & drinks in room fridge. Luggage room available as too early for room & allowed to put luggage there for late departure flight. Excellent choice of food for breakfast & again cava & evening entertainment provided in lounge. Would definitely recommend this hotel as location also excellent-opposite Benalmádena Marina.
Just can't fault this hotel ,girls on reception very excellent very polite and friendly, was very surprised with our room very nicely decorated and spotless, and we also had sea view , we booked half board and food was excellent plenty of choice for evening meal, and also at breakfast choice and foot was excellent , would not hesitate to book this hotel again 10/10 very highly recommend 😁
Lovely hotel with a prime position by the Marina. We were lucky to get a floor 9 room with views of the sea and mountains (our son asked for). Huge bedroom with lovely bathroom. Great balcony. We had half board, food and drinks were very good. Completely satisfied with everything. Highly Recommended.
After paying 45 euros for one night I had no complaints with this hotel. I stayed in Benalmádena with a group of friends and this hotel was good for our weekend away. Staff were friendly and the room was clean. It was an easy walk down to the beach and the marina was not far.
It was our first time in Benalmadena and we stayed only one night. The hotel had a very beautiful garden, breakfast was complete and the quality was really good. Our room was clean and had comfortable beds.
The location is really excellent specially for summer trips!
Very attentive host, clean and cozy penthouse with a wonderful sea view in a very quiet area of benalmádena. The apartment is just close to everything you need, and the privacy of the apartment is a 10/10 with a private swimming. My family really enjoyed their stay.
Restaurant staff were very helpful. Hotel was in a good location . Staff were very relaxed about all inclusive which made the holiday feel much more relaxed. A big plus to be able to collect a glass of wine from the bar and take it back to your room.
Very cosily decorated (also with art made by the talented owner), great use of the space, sea views from the sunny balcony, comfortable and very well located to explore Benalmadena by foot. The hosts were communicative and speedy on response.
We came half board and the food was good with lots of choices
Very pleased with the apartment we had a beach side view. They also allowed us to check in early.
Would definitely book Sunset Beach Club Hotel Apartments again ⛱️ 😁
