We stayed in Espoo for one night,then stayed four in Helsinki. It was the best way of enjoying the snow (being Irish it is a novelty )and enjoying the peaceful forest surrounding the hotel. It was a great start to our christmas break before going into the city. It was magical and I did a morning hike around the grounds of the hotel. My sons and I loved it.

For those who likes to be in nature. There is nearby two very good birdwatching places: Maarian lintutorni and Laajalahden lintutorni. I also recommend to visit Villa Elfin nearby. Also Gallen-Kallela museum is worth of visiting.

I had just a small walk way to do. I really appreciated the possibility to secure my bag even before the check in. The hotel is very modern with a nice architecture. A lot of well made Finnish wood furnitures are installed pretty everywhere. Coffee and other drinks are free 24h a day. There is of course a gym that is open at suitable times. An The apartment has a small desk for working, balcony for enjoying quite moments, fully functional kitchen and comfy lighting for a relaxing evening. The host Antii is super responsive. The instructions he sent for the check-in were detailed and clear.

The private sauna and access to the lake was our personal highlight. The host was very friendly and accommodating. You can use the sauna and pool until mid-night. And you can even hop into the sea in between your sauna sessions. You can borrow bikes from the hotel. We could have done it, although I didn't know how the bicycle parking should be done in Helsinki.
