We stayed in Espoo for one night,then stayed four in Helsinki. It was the best way of enjoying the snow (being Irish it is a novelty )and enjoying the peaceful forest surrounding the hotel. It was a great start to our christmas break before going into the city. It was magical and I did a morning hike around the grounds of the hotel. My sons and I loved it.

Espoo is the most prosperous and safest area in Finland. The reason for that is that 40% of Espoo's population has a university degree. The best area of the city is by the sea in the middle of nature.

For those who likes to be in nature. There is nearby two very good birdwatching places: Maarian lintutorni and Laajalahden lintutorni. I also recommend to visit Villa Elfin nearby. Also Gallen-Kallela museum is worth of visiting.

I liked walking near the sea (the road noise was a bit annoying though), but the view is perfect. Food in the restaurant was delicious and not super expensive. I also liked the swimming pool with sea view (I had a problem with towels, couldn't find them in the changing room and didn't bring my own). Breakfast was great as well, I found different types of tasty food. I really liked the weekend there, definitely can recommend it!

Poppii was very welcoming and prepared for us an AMAZING salmon soup that we'll never forget. The cottage is very clean and feels very new. The fireplace is very warm and safe and easy to use. The sauna is perfect, and the ability to go sit by your own personal pier with a coffee ( or swim in the cold cold lake) is just splendid. The lake is beautiful. A real slice of paradise that we won't forget — thank you Poppii !

I also like the idea of a fabric bag to borrow from the suit. The hotel is about 10-15 minutes by metro from the Central Railway station in Helsinki, just remember to take exit G at Keilaniemi station. There is also social space in the hotel if you need privacy for a business meeting after checkout or before checkin.
