We stayed in Espoo for one night,then stayed four in Helsinki. It was the best way of enjoying the snow (being Irish it is a novelty )and enjoying the peaceful forest surrounding the hotel. It was a great start to our christmas break before going into the city. It was magical and I did a morning hike around the grounds of the hotel. My sons and I loved it.

Espoo is the most prosperous and safest area in Finland. The reason for that is that 40% of Espoo's population has a university degree. The best area of the city is by the sea in the middle of nature.

For those who likes to be in nature. There is nearby two very good birdwatching places: Maarian lintutorni and Laajalahden lintutorni. I also recommend to visit Villa Elfin nearby. Also Gallen-Kallela museum is worth of visiting.

I had just a small walk way to do. I really appreciated the possibility to secure my bag even before the check in. The hotel is very modern with a nice architecture. A lot of well made Finnish wood furnitures are installed pretty everywhere. Coffee and other drinks are free 24h a day. There is of course a gym that is open at suitable times. In short, I really enjoyed my stay there. Hope to be back soon.EricGermany

I suggest all visitors to google 'taskumattitalo'. Location is next to Tapiola center, with plenty of services, and also Espoo Museum of Modern Art (EMMA) is just few hundred meters away. Tapiola itself is a unique suburban area with distinct history. The view from windows opened to the center (and Helsinki), especially nighttime it was spectacular.

The bathroom was clearly updated and I appreciate the shower doors so you don't have to splash water everywhere. The staff when we checked in at night were extra cheerful and nice and the crib was already set up when we arrived which was just awesome. The rooms are pretty basic so it's good to spend time outside on the Nuuksio trails. This time the in-house sauna was closed, but the lake-side sauna was wonderful. The restaurant is excellent! The staff was very kind and advised us on ways to keep safe during the pandemic.
