It is a rather stylish seaside town.
It is a rather stylish seaside town. Lots of good eating places and a world-class marina with many global yachting events taking place. The streets are clean and well-organised. The cycling infrastructure around the town makes it an enjoyable and healthy means of getting around. A lively town even in the middle of February with enough things to see and do to keep you busy. The esplanade is a wonderful place to walk on a sunny day with sufficient places open to eat to have a choice. The sea front is not a stunning example of architectural planning but the beach is amazing. Miles of flat clean sand even at high tide the water is shallow out to a considerable distance. A few nice bars and sea front brasserie style restaurants with good sea food; pizza burgers etc but not much higher end cuisine. You can walk around the town easily and there is a passenger ferry to the old town (1.10 euro each way). Great place to walk and relax. We stayed on a busy Ironman weekend so the town was full of bikes and athletes - would recommend hiring a bike to explore further.Guest review byMichaelUnited Kingdom
