Brixham is a working fishing harbour, so if you like eating fresh fish it is a no brainer. The centre is based around the harbour and there are some short flat walks round the harbour and along the breakwater. There are several good restaurants (not all fish), two or three nice pubs, a wine bar and a cocktail bar. There are some wonderful views if you walk up to Berry Head and the old fort. You can of course walk the coastal path north to Paignton and Torquay or south to Kingswear and Dartmouth. Or instead take the ferry or book a longer boat trip. There is also the steam train from Torquay to Dartmouth which you can intercept at Churston.

Great choice for places to eat.
Great choice for places to eat. The walks around the area are so scenic but hard going if you are not used to hiking. Lots of places where you can just sit in peace and quiet. Worth a walk up to Berry Head and the forts. Some nice nature walks as well. Also walk up to the Battery and the coves just further along the coast path.

Beautiful harbour area and stretch of the South Coast Walk.
Beautiful harbour area and stretch of the South Coast Walk. It's a lovely town that does not have the winter shut down feel of some other coastal towns in the UK, probably because it is also a working port town so never really completely switches off.
We ate in La Petit Maison and Rock Fish; both fabulous restaurants that I can highly recommend and drinks/cocktails in Liberties on the Harbour front; also very much recommended.

Brixham is an historical fishing village with a great deal of character. There are many lovely places to visit in the area which are not too far from Brixham.
The coast is lovely with lots of places to walk and enjoy the seascape.
During the summer you can take a trip on the Western Lady crossing over to Torquay.
There are a selection of local shops were you can stock up on provisions without the need to go too far.
You can also enjoy a trip on the Dartmouth Steam Railway, joining at the station stop on Dartmouth Road.

Loved it quant interesting not commercial.
Loved it quant interesting not commercial. Lots of interesting shops and restaurants. It was Autumn when we visited and the town had slip into its winter mode. Restaurants and shops closed earlier than we expected. Best to check opening times. We enjoyed eating in The Birdcage pub restaurant. As one would expect Brixham its hilly. Plenty of walks but we did not have time to take advantage of many. We will definitely be going back my favourite place in Devon
perhaps the highly rated hotels should pay a visit here .and learn what this phrase means [nothing is too much trouble] barry absolutely outstanding , mia a very young lady during busy breakfast well done great attitude. booked room 2 amazing view of harbour ,very clean establishment ,really relaxing break.great location car parking space actually on the harbour,if you dont wish to drive take no12 bus from depot near theatre and you can visit paignton torquay and babbacombe all in one day cost 5.50 per adult.
It’s really close to the harbour and the best of Brixham. The view from our room was unbeatable and the accommodation was spotlessly clean, charmingly decorated, and everything worked. The hosts were wonderful company and provided superb service. The menu, the quality ingredients and the chef’s flair made for outstanding breakfasts. We really appreciated the advice given about where and what to eat in town - all Herve’s tips were spot-on. The whole weekend was a joy and one we can’t wait to repeat later this year.
Amazing location, must have the best views of Brixham. Its located on the first road above the harbour, so you don't have far to walk but you're away from any noise that might disturbyou. The room was as described, big sash windows in the bedroom and bathroom, very light and airy rooms. If you need anything else there is a kitchen/ stores on the ground floor, we used the ice machine. The whole building has been beautifully restored.
Wonderful welcome a bottle of wine & a pint of milk in the fridge box of chocolates and treats for the dog, absolutely spotless throughout towels and bed linen provided really comfortable with all mod cons and stunning views, cross the road and down a few steps and your sitting outside the prince William bar and restaurant or a short walk to the Harbour and town centre Julie was an amazing host looking forward to coming back.
Everything! We have stayed in B&B establishments up and down the UK and none of them can compare to this beautiful place. Both Mark & Debra are the most exceptional host's you would ever have ( and so was Betsy)The room was lovely and spacious with everything you needed. Breakfast was cooked to perfection and lots of it!! So, if you want the best in Brixham, stay at Brixham House. Frank (Jack ) & Gill Wood.
Beautifully decorated and modern apartment. Fantastic location, 10 min walk to Brixham harbour, short drive to Paignton and Torquay with plenty of shops, bars & restaurants. Plenty of beach options in the area to choose from. We had the best fish and chips in Brixham harbour. Brixham and surrounding areas, are very scenic, with lovely walks. Highly recommend and we will definitely be back.
Fantastic location for visiting Brixham amd the surrounding coves, local eating and drinking. Well places for families and adults alike. Amazing views over the Harbour. Very clean, spacious accommodation. Do not hesitate to book in to this apartment. Ate in the restaurant downstairs and dinner was delicious. The staff work so hard.
We had a room with a side view which was a good size and lovely and clean and tidy. This hotel is in a fabulous location with stunning views. It’s a nice leisurely walk into Brixham and onto the headland. We’d stayed many times at this hotel and will return again
Great breakfast, excellent evening meal in the bar, fantastic views with only a short walk to the harbour. Secure parking close by. A special mention to Earl for being so helpful and humorous, he is a real asset to the Quayside Hotel
Staff were really polite and very helpful. Great food, good choice on the menu every day. Good selection of beer and wine.
very comfortable outside area.
Good parking, front rooms suffered from road noise, other than that, great.
A very well equipped apartment and located well for access to the harbour, local shop and bus stop. Sharon ensured we had a comfortable stay and we were left an extensive Welcome pack. Very good value for money.
A little piece of heaven , salty kisses , sandy toes , blissful high end boutique B and B , spotlessly clean , sophisticated decor , fabulous hosts and awesome breakfast . Our second visit , will return again
Lovely apartment, ideal for our stay. Not too far from the centre of Brixham.
Clean and tidy, 2 minute walk to the local shop for those basic supplies.
