Grasmere House Hotel is set amid 1.5 acres of beautiful gardens, rolling lawns and towering trees which back onto the banks of the Rivers Avon and Nadder, only a few minutes' walk from the centre of Salisbury. This beautiful building has been carefully converted and extended into a private hotel whilst retaining all the features and atmosphere of a comfortable Victorian home. A favourite venue for those wishing to spend time taking in the delights of Salisbury and surrounding Wiltshire countryside. The picturesque location and gardens of the Grasmere House Hotel make it an ideal place for a peaceful and relaxing stay for holidaymakers and business travellers alike.

Food & beverage

Breakfast is served from 07:30 until 09:30.
Lunch is served from 12:00 until 14:00.
Dinner is served from 19:00 until 21:30.
Price of Full English Breakfast (if not included in Price of Room): 9.50 GBP.

Room information

All rooms in the Grasmere House Hotel have en suite facilities and all the modern comforts you would expect. There are 4 rooms that are fitted with luxurious four-poster beds, while all are equally well furnished, some with extra pull-out beds to provide triple and quadruple family accommodation. A further 5 rooms are discreetly arranged for disabled guests and graded by the ETB. A 3-bedroom family sized apartment with separate lounge and 2 bathrooms is also available.

Area information

There is never a shortage of things to do in Salisbury or the wider area of Wiltshire, where some of the country's most important heritage sites can be found - including, Old Sarum and the ancient stone circles of Stonehenge and Avebury.

Salisbury has a racecourse with regular meetings and there is a wealth of excellent shops, museums and restaurants around the town. Salisbury Cathedral with its majestic spire can be seen from Grasmere House and is just a short walk away.

Wiltshire is also the home of some of the grandest stately homes and gardens - Wilton House, Longleat and Broadlands; or on a smaller scale, Avebury Manor and Mompesson House which is in the Cathedral Close.

Wonderful location, beautiful view of Salisbury Cathedral, gardens were peaceful and well kept.

The hotel is looking a bit dated and a refurbishment is needed in places. The outside looks wonderful, but on entry the reception looks 'worn'.

The fact that the room gave onto the lawn and a great view. The reception staff. The Sunday night special offer.

The fact that the toilet had not been cleaned. The fact that many of the restaurant staff could not converse adequately in English. The fact that in spite of two efforts the kitchen could not produce a medium rare steak, overcooking it on both ocasions. The fact that staff did not readily take my partners meal away when I had to return my steak and then simply reheated it.

The evening meal was appalling and I would not recommend eating an evening meal at the hotel. I would recommend the hotel but not to eat there. The hotel did not charge us for one of the meals which we thought was fair.

Our room was excellent and with a wonderful view

Reception area very scruffy and some of the staff certainly not familiar with the locality of tourist amenities, etc. Bar area miserable. Dining experience was not an experience. Restaurant staff pleasant but not experienced in service i.e not clearing the extra place setting when 2 of us had dinner, bearing in mind that it was a breakfast setting! Not enough room to detail all

Beautiful gardens and only 10-15 minute walk from the centre

Thought dinner menu could be improved and have a better offering,and prices seemed high for the content. Breakfast buffet was a bit haphazard in what was ready at the time
