Most of the staff were very pleasant. Wonderful facilities for our requirements. Lovely drawing room. Beautiful Conservatory. Tastefully decorated rooms. A positively Regal Ambience throughout. A very "French" taste to the food i.e. prepared with care, excellent taste, and excellent portion sizes. Room Service with reasonable prices and NO tray charges!!!! Other Hoteliers: TAKE NOTE!!!! This is how it's done, and everything is so straightforward, from check-in to checkout.
Some of the staff were a bit too sombre! Funeral home came to mind on occassion! A little TLC required in some parts (but this doesn't take away from the overall decor and Regal ambience of Grasmere). Suggestion regarding the breakfast buffet: cook to order to save money, and prevent loss of taste and hardening around the edges of all the hot buffet items. Please note that these so-called "negatives" should NOT suggest anything other than some MINOR tweaks are required, and Grasmere is an excellent Hotel, and Fantastic Value For Money!
Had two lovely days visiting family. Ideal location, and simply wonderful hotel.
I have stayed at this hotel many times. It has superb views over the water meadows to Salisbury Cathedral. The bedrooms are all different and very comfortable.
Not mad keen on the conservatory but the breakfast has been consistently good.
delux room was large enough , so was the bathroom
breakfast was a disappointment, burnt toast, canned fruit, only sweetened cerials no müsli, no cheese
Good service, large room, large comfortable bed.
Wifi didn't work in bedroom, a fault staff were aware of. Looking a little worn & tatty in places.
Very helpful staff from acting as a human GPS to get me there to jigging my Wifii constantly and moving me to another lovely room when the wifi was iffy! Lovely setting just close enough to the bustle but still with a pastoral feel
Breakfast & comfortable bed with great view
Dated with no chest of drawers in the room. Poor bar and restaurant areas
Good location. Only tried the breakfast which was also good. Room was nice and big with a good view.
Very small bar so did not use for a nightcap. A bar with the lounge would have been preferable and more homely. No fish (as per the menu) for the breakfast.
Great location with a fantastic view and an incredibly comfortable bed. Room was clean. Staff were pleasant.
Dated and worn decor. Chair in room was stained. 2 wall sockets didn't work and the bath was very old and moving away from the wall. All this could have been forgiven if it hadn't been for the disco that took place below our room until 12.00 at night.
Comfortable rooms, good location, friendly staff, good breakfast, a pleasant stay
Decor is a bit tired but in general not too bad.
Staff extremely helpful Good food
Booked a four poster room but did not get one.
loved the location. Our room was a good size.Bed was extremely comfortable.
I was disappointed we did not have a garden view for the room cost.the décor was very shabby and in need of redecoration.although our room was clean there was mould around the bath and ceiling of the shower.the quality if the breakfasts on both mornings was very poor, poor quality food which had been left out on heated trays far to long, the toast was cold and not crisp. The location of the dining room was by staff cloak room the conservatory was in dire need of a good spring clean,The reception area was also not very inviting.Unless there is a complete makeover on this hotel we will not use it again.
The bed was very comfortable and the location very good.
The hot water was very intermittent and not really hot.
Very comfortable quiet accommodation near to the city centre.
Very clean comfortable room great outlook and close proximity to the city Great breakfast with friendly service
Bathroom adequate but could do with refurbishing
Hotel is great. Very big, pretty and confortable rooms, very english style. You feel like in a movie. The location is great, a backyard so pretty, and the restaurant! No words, great chef and great staff. Gazilion points to the owner, that keeps the mood of the hotel up high, and was so sweet to help us with important info to stroll around. Totally recomend this hotel, either for a couple or with kids, it´s just perfect.
the best rooms are very nice with good views and tasteful furnishings. Breakfast always good with good service from staff.
some of the rooms are tired and in need of renovation. eg bathroom tiles loose, curtains torn.
Lawns looked nice, though was raining all weekend so couldn't spend much time on them!
Pillows were dirty, rooms were dated and tired looking, reception area was a mess. It felt a bit like I had visited the house my nan lived at in the 1980s.
Location was good with regard to being able to walk into the City Centre of Salisbury. Breakfast good Staff good Room very nice
They apologised profusely about a wedding being held on the night we were there. Music did stop at 11.00 but the position of our room did make it very noisy. If we had known before we probably wouldn't have picked that hotel.
very convenient and pretty
Staff attitude could have been better - seems to cater to Conference and Wedding business
Lovely smart room with really comfy bed and lovely view of the river and cathedral. My dog was also very comfy in the room and had easy access to the outdoors as we were given a ground floor room.
The free hotel wifi didn't work in the room which was a shame but other than that, everything was very good.
Room cold, tired, poor décor, bathroom tired, dining room cold and uninviting - main average, sweet (bread & Butter - cold) - not worth the price, did not get asked if everything OK. Waiter shouted order to chief, wifi not strong in room or secure (requested). TV batteries flat. Breakfast bacon cold, only tined peaches for fruit.
Very comfortable stay and excellent breakfast. Very nice location.
Location Bed Quirkiness
Bathroom very, very tatty!! in need of lots of attention.
The bed was comfy and large
Breakfast, interior, greetings
