The staff were friendly and helpful. The grounds were amazing around the hotel
The hotel is a short walk past the cathedral into Salisbury. Very comfortable bed with crisp clean bedding. Our room had super view of the cathedral. The staff were friendly and helpful.
I found the cooked breakfast a little disappointing. A pity as its something I look forward to when staying away. However this wouldn't stop me staying at The Grasmere again.
Good location, gardens looked nice, comfy bed
Bedroom not soundproofed, younger staff disinterested, mediocre breakfast, awful coffee, terrible ambience in conservatory dining room
The room was huge! Lovely big bed, bathroom - very comfortable. Great ambience and views. Seeing Salisbury Cathedral from my breakfast table was priceless
Staff were curt, not overly friendly.
Nothing disliked but feel that Hotel does need a little refurbishment as many things like bedroom curtains in need of replacement as badly worn and many tiles in bathroom broken.
Value for money and location
Could hear people snoring and worke up by a dog in the night
Room location access to grounds
Toilet in room had not been cleaned properly, there was poo stains which i had to clean with brush. handle on bedroom window came off, as there were no screws. also for the price of the room, i thought breakfast would have been included, but this was not the case.
good sized comfortable room and bathroom. easy access to city and cathederal by foot ( some 15 mins walk to cathederal)
expensive and only moderatly good breakfast. hotel old fashioned and in need of some refurbishment
Excellent comfortable accommodation with superb view of the cathedral. Within walking distance of centre.
Good location, quiet comfy room with good view. Breakfast choice good, but hot food not freshly cooked.
Bath/shower temperature hard to control. No info in room about wifi.
Location, rooms size and garden.
Parts of the hotel seemed run down and not well maintained. Dining area was OK, but not great. Breakfast was average.
Spacious room , good breakfast helpful staff. Left hair tongs behind in room which were posted to me promptly next day! Very impressed.
Locality to Salisbury centre is good, a few minutes walk from the cathedral. Overall size of room was good. Staff are pleasant and courteous.
The web site and hotel details emphasise rooms with a garden and cathedral view which is the principal reason I selected this hotel . Upon arrival, late afternoon, we were allocated a room that overlooks the car-park. (Opposite and away from the gardens) Whilst the receptionist was very helpful in trying to rearrange the room it was explained that it was common practice to "over book" the garden view rooms, had we arrived half an hour earlier then one would have been available as they are taken up on a first come, first served basis . ( I had specifically requested this at the time of booking) I find this practice and approach rather cynical. ( There are also derelict vans in the car-park... looks more like a breakers yard than a hotel ) Dining areas are very shabby indeed, cobwebs, mould growth around damaged window fittings and damaged blinds on show are disappointing. A little more effort and a good spring clean could dramatically improve this hotel's outlook.
A very pleasant stay here. Hotel cosy and warm, friendly staff, lovely large bedroom with good amenities. Location 15 minutes easy walk into town centre.
1.Staff very friendly 2.Food very good 3. Excellent location
1. Bathroom in urgent need Of T.L.C. 2.Broken /Sharp floor tile 3.Cracked Basin with sharp Edge. 4.Toilet not flushing properly 5 Advised staff of our discontent but seemed aware of shortcomings But no offer of discount for Our shortcomings found And general unhappiness.
The breakfast was very good ,the staff were very polite and helpful. Our room (19)was clean and comfortable, the bed was a super king and we had a good nights sleep the two nights we were there. The Hotel throughout was warm while it was freezing outside.
Nothing to dislike about Grasmere House Hotel
Location was good
The 'English breakfast' was dreadful. The bacon was soggy rather than crisp and the coffee was like dish water. Very very poor quality. The walls of the rooms were paper thin. It was like sharing your room with strangers.
The beautiful, warm, comfy room, with its fabulous bed. Bath tho a bit tatty had really hot water and was just what was needed after a 11 mile walk. The meals on Saturday evening were delicious. The view from the window was inspiring. A television that worked. A wonderful stay. Thank you
Breakfast fried eggs had been lying around for a while and were inedible. Coffee was also very weak.
Location was excellent for the city centre, and bed was very comfy
Sink was a bit blocked, but nothing major
Staff are so pleasant bent over backwards to make me feel special on my stay there and they succeeded .thank you kindly .
Lovely room Super location Awesome views Beautiful four poster bed Great value
Breakfast could be better, service was a bit slow and eggs were left sitting to go hard. WiFi was a bit slow - not enough bandwidth.
Large room, large and comfortable bed, decent armchair, excellent bathroom, large tv, stunning view.
Nothing much. It is in need of a little refurbishment I suppose, but I rather go for it's slightly outdated look. This is nice place.
reasonable comfort room.
Rushed service at dinner and mediocre food standard. Bathroom could have been cleaner with toothpaste caps in handbasin drain. Booked one standard double and one deluxe double got two standards.
