    Sea Air and Savoir-Faire

Known for its sandy beaches and good nightlife, Bournemouth is a popular seaside resort on the Dorset coast between Poole and Christchurch.

The town is centered on the Bourne River, running downhill towards the sea by Bournemouth Pier. This pier looks back towards a promenade lined with beach huts at the foot of grassy cliffs. The promenade continues west to Poole, while a road heads east to neighboring Boscombe, where anglers often fish from its pier. Overlooking it is a clifftop road housing some Bournemouth hotels with sea views. also has hotels near the BIC (Bournemouth International Center) in the West Cliff area. This convention center and music venue is a short walk from the Art Deco Pavilion Theatre next to the Lower Gardens. In this popular city park is the Bournemouth Eye, a tethered hot air balloon with far-reaching views.

At the park’s top end the river disappears under a large square, then emerges in the Central Gardens. Overlooking these gardens is the Victorian town hall, which used to be one of several spa hotels in Bournemouth. Nearby, there's a Grade I registered historic church, and St. Peter’s Church has the grave of Mary Shelley, author of "Frankenstein."

On the outskirts of town, near 4 golf courses and the Castlepoint Shopping Center, is Bournemouth Airport.

    • Wonderfully comfortable bed and breakfast was excellent. Otherwise it did everything you would expect on the tin. Location was easy to access by road and is in easy walk of town centre, beach and pier. But remember that the hotel is at a higher point than the town so the walk back has a hill! Staff were excellent, friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay there again.

    • Everything! We had booked a double room for Bed and Breakfast. More often than not, we stay at Premier Inn hotels when staying out overnight, and they are always good. This one was excellent. We were given a free upgrade to a sea view room with balcony, and the room was clean, spacious and very comfortable. Breakfast was great, and the staff very helpful and attentive. We will definitely stay there again. We think Bournemouth is a very well kept town, especially the park between the hotel and the sea front.

    • We stayed at mayfield and very satiesfied with it.. the couple whose running the place is very friendly and took care of their bed and breakfast well. Food is great and room is very clean. Its also near the town centre so very convenient for us.. we will definitely stay here again.

    • Within an easy walk to the seafront and city centre

    • Near beach location and near city centre
