Perfectly located at the gates to The Cathedral Close and ten minutes to Stonehenge. The Chapter House is steeped in history and culture.
Our stay at Chapter House was absolutely delightful. The labyrinthine corridors, exposed beams and uneven floors might not be to everyone's taste but we found it charming. Despite the age of the building, the facilities were modern and clean, and the bed was very comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was excellent. Perfect set up for a day exploring Salisbury, starting with the cathedral only a few minutes' walk away. Highly recommend!

Opening onto a terrace, The Stones Hotel is located between Amesbury and Salisbury. It has a restaurant, bar, free parking and free WiFi.
Recently stayed at The Stones hotel and I was most impressed. The location was ideal for me and really close to both Salisbury and Andover which are areas I generally frequent. I was pleased to see such a large car park at the hotel and it was perfect as I've previously stayed at city centre hotels and car parking can be a nightmare, especially as I have a large car to park. When I checked in, Claudia at the Reception was so polite and professional. She mentioned that the hotel now has a gym so I managed to use the facilities and it was fantastic. My bedroom was so large and had a really comfortable bed and the best power shower which I have ever used. I didn't eat in the Restaurant but instead I ordered room service and the gentleman who brought my meal was awesome. I had changed my mind at the last minute and wanted a dessert and he was so courteous and happy to bring this for me. Breakfast was plentiful and once again the service from the staff was spot on. It made my morning to see smiling faces from the staff who were happy to engage with the guests. I had booked one of the meeting rooms at the hotel for a half day meeting and I was glad to see that the room was perfectly setup with every piece of equipment that I needed. I've been in situations before when some hotels cant find equipment and has delayed the start to my meeting so when I went to check the setup of my meeting room at The Stones, it was pleasing to see that it was ready with everything I had requested. Apparently the hotel recently had a massive refurbishment of all their conference facilities and are due to do the same with their bedrooms so I can't wait to see what they do to the rooms. Overall, I would most certainly come back to The Stones hotel whenever I am in the area. I give it 10/10 for location, service and facilities.

The Riverside, Sarum College, and Chapter House got great room view-related reviews from travelers in Salisbury.
The cathedral. Wonderful. The Magna Carta document and the oldest working clock are a must see. The nearby multi-storey car park charges £7.90 for a day, but if you can get into the cathedral car park it is only £8 per day, so if you are visiting the cathedral it is a better deal. The cathedral is near enough to the town centre to walk.
Lovely centre with really friendly proficient staff. Excellent variety of individual shops, ultra fantastic baker, superb historical buildings, a fabulous cathedral and even the actual Magna Carta at the cathedral. Perfect base to see all historical ruins etc Well situated to visit Stonehenge and area including Woodhenge.
I traveled and stayed overnight in Salisbury, at Caboose (hotel). This is a lovely city in England. It was easy to get around the city and also took the tour to the Stonehenge from the train station. The cathedral was one of my favourite places. Recommend to visit there!
The experience of salisbury was that the was a lot to do in salisbury lots of places to have nice meals ,lovely shops , also places to see of heritage , with the lovely river running through , the only downside is it is better if you have a car it can be very rural in some parts as you go further out .
The Cathedral is close to the centre of town, as is the Museum and the Military Museum. Salisbury Racecourse is about 10 minutes away by car. There is a good selection of pubs and restaurants and the main square is a great place to relax and people watch.
Great for the history lover. The cathedral is magnificent, set in a beautiful close with a couple of museums and houses open to the public. The Wessex collection in the Salisbury museum was an excellent collection from nearby sites throughout the ages. Ancient sites such as Stonehenge and Old Sarum were easily accessed by public transport.
