Perfectly located at the gates to The Cathedral Close and ten minutes to Stonehenge. The Chapter House is steeped in history and culture. Our stay at Chapter House was absolutely delightful. The labyrinthine corridors, exposed beams and uneven floors might not be to everyone's taste but we found it charming. Despite the age of the building, the facilities were modern and clean, and the bed was very comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was excellent. Perfect set up for a day exploring Salisbury, starting with the cathedral only a few minutes' walk away. Highly recommend!

The cathedral and it's surroundings are beautiful. The cathedral houses one of the only surviving original copies of the Magna Carta. Some nice places to eat in the evening. A very pleasant, unpretentious historic English market town. A really good base to explore the beautiful Wiltshire countryside and Stonehenge if you have a car. Easy train ride to Bath and about 1 1/2hrs from London by train. Would highly recommend for a short break. Loved it!
Lots to do, Cathedral beautiful, Great visit to old Sarum, lots of history, excellent walking tour of city with very knowledgeable guide booked at Information centre. Tinga and Giggling Squid great places to eat but need to book. Lots of beautiful countryside to walk nearby. Unfortunately some properties e.g Edward Heath's old home, not open when we visited in February
Lots of places to visit especially if you love your history. Lots within walking distance and much more just a quick car journey away. Be guided by your host especially when looking for restaurants, the Anooka was probably the best Indian meal I’ve had.
The cathedral organ; the cathedral music; the cathedral & close; the country/ field walks beyond the cathedral; the town; the Georgian architecture; the restaurants; the clear clean swift river; the fact that the park/ close was well looked after; the beautiful cloister; convenience of the railway station; restaurants and pubs; old Sarum; the Magna Carta; Stonehenge; museums…
A wonderful historic city with so many interesting buildings and associations! wWe stayed in a very comfortable friendly hotel with well informed staff who did all they could to help us enjoy our stay. There appear to be plenty of interesting restaurants to enjoy, too
Salisbury is a very interesting city with many medieval buildings. It is easy to get around as it's compact and does not seem to be too busy. There are plenty of places to eat and many coffee shops. The Cathedral is one of the main attractions with a very attractive Close, full of lovely old buildings. Would certainly visit again.
Salisbury
Fantastic stay nice little touches......only problem was some noise from people arguing outside after pubs closing times and we had a 2 year old not the hotels fault but could probably do with.sound proofing the windows. They only have 4 spaces for parking which isn't attached to the hotel amd we hadn't realised we needed to book so couldn't have a space although a lane to the side had some private parking which we took the risk and parked there assuming the businesses didn't work early on a Sunday morning.
Salisbury
Met by owner who was lovely and very helpful. Room was comfortable, very clean, fresh and new. Lovely bathroom. Breakfast was good albeit not many options for a vegetarian. Location by a pub and hotel, river and water mill was lovely. Convenient parking. As soon as you step out you can hear the sound of the water. 10-15 minute walk along the river to City centre and walking back at night was great seeing the riverbank alive with bats. A really good value, comfortable place to stay. Would stay again.
A central location in Salisbury with parking, and an easy walk to restaurants and central shopping area. We hadn’t expected to be staying in a theological college but found the level of comfort better than such a title might indicate. We had a comfortable double room, walk in shower en-suite and were delighted to find 2 armchairs ( too many hotels think 1 is sufficient in a double room.) Breakfast copious and freshly cooked.
Salisbury
The property has recently been refurbished as part of a community project, so the standard of decoration and fitting were very good, with a strong railway theme. Quite a historic building nicely returned to pleasant pub/hotel. Bathroom had been well done in a small space and room was pretty comfortable. The staff were lovely and very helpful and the food was good. Has the feel of a real ‘local’.
Salisbury
The room was well facilitated, comfortable and clean. The shower was amazing! After several inadequate showers in hotels proceeding our stay at the Bell Inn, it was a delight to be rained upon with full pressure hot water. David, the owner, was a wonderful and friendly; his pub is adorably old and well stocked. Finally, the Bell is very well located between Salisbury and Stonehenge.
The hotel is a pleasant 15 minutes walk from Cathedral /city centre The staff were very friendly and helpful. We were treated to a complimentary drink at the bar and made use of the free shuttle into Salisbury in the evening. Room was very comfy and breakfast was fantastic.

Lovely location close to Salisbury& cathedral. Helen was amazing for our visit- she made it extra special! Room was great and breakfast delicious!
The room was spacious well appointed and comfortable. The bathroom had both a shower and a bath. The position of the Hotel is very central.
Loved the courtyard area. Everything was so original and old you felt like you went back in time. Of course the hotel was modern!
We were fortunate to get a car parking space at the hotel for free.
