Salisbury is a wonderful small city. Filled with history and wonderful countryside. Lots of great restaurants - would recommend The giggling Swuid for Thai and the Chapterhouse for an incredible Sunday roast.
Salisbury is a lovely English town with its awe-inspiring cathedral, beautifully preserved medieval buildings and a great selection of shops, cafes and restaurants. On Saturdays, there is a wonderful market in the town square.
The cathedral area is interesting and there is a nice walk along the river, but overall it is just like any other city with the same range of shops. The Park and Ride was a bit hit and miss as buses just seemed to run whenever, and nor related to the timetable.
Small and bijou but quaint. Might be a problem for those with mobility issues. Otherwise excellent. Lovely rural setting outside of the centre. All good but the breakfast was superb with a highly efficient and polite steward serving. Nice variety of drinks in the bar. Tranquil environment on the meadows near the cathedral, good for a post meal walk. Definitely recommended.
Salisbury is well worth a visit, there are Museums in Cathedral Square by the amazing Salisbury Cathedral. Lots of independent and well known branded shops. Plenty of Pubs and Restaurants. Lovely walks by the Rivers plus local parks to enjoy.
We went to the Cathedral which I found to be a special place with well informed volunteers and a wonderful atmosphere. We also went to Mompesson House in the Cathedral Close, a National Trust Property which is well worth a visit. Salisbury is well placed for visiting Stonehenge , Mottisfont Abbey, and the Caen Flight of Locks near Devizes + many others. Plenty of footpaths and countryside as well.
The staff were very accommodating and helpful e.g. finding us a storage place for our bikes even when the weather was so appalling and our bikes were dirty. The rooms were comfortable and well furnished. The location of the hotel is excellent as it's close to the centre of the city.
Exactly what we needed, 4 friends - with 2 x twin rooms, before the start of our hiking trail. Comfortable, clean and brilliantly located. It is an old hotel, with a great city centre, riverside location, but suited our needs perfectly as we could easily walk to it from Salisbury station.

The property is located right at the heart of city centre. Very old house, perfectly maintained or renovated. Everything in the hotel room is functional. Desk, wardrobe, hairdryer, etc. Dinning area is on ground floor. I can't see any major flaws in the services.

Salisbury
On arrival at Cricket House after a very hard, stressful, long day I was made to feel most welcome, as if I had arrived at my mother's home, and shown to my fantastic room. I booked an apartment over looking the garden on the ground floor and was really happy with how nice it was. The bed was extremely comfortable, I wasn't disturbed by noise and throughly enjoyed the two nights I stayed. The owner Helen was so helpful and accommodating that I wouldn't consider anywhere else in Salisbury. It's location right next to the cricket pitch set in grounds was lovely too. The breakfast was all locally sourced produce of fantastic quality that set me up so well for the day that I hardly needed to stop for lunch. I can't recommend this place enough. If you're travelling to Salisbury look no further for your accommodation.
