A lovely hotel in a truly stunning location. We booked the most expensive suite with beautiful bathroom + hot tub with a breathtaking view as a treat after running the Manchester Marathon! Room was simply stunning, restaurant food was of really good quality + delicious! We ate at the restaurant most evenings after long days out exploring the Lake District + it was a lovely base to come back to + relax. Staff were brilliant.

Windermere Manor Hotel, hotel in Bowland Bridge

Situated in the heart of the Lake District and a 10-minute walk from Lake Windermere, this hotel is set in 3 acres of tree-lined gardens and has a charming, wooden-beamed restaurant.

Windermere Manor Hotel is such a beautiful building to look at, and the surrounding gardens are very nice to sit in and read a book. I forst noticed how peaceful the place is, just listening to the sounds of nature. The hotel restaurant is split into 4 sections, a bar area, lounge, conservatory, and chapel, food was very nice, and reasonably priced, and staff very friendly. Hotel is located close to Bowness and Windermere Village, if you like going for walks there's local hiking trails, and Orrest Head view point is 30 mins away by walking. Swimming pool was a bonus, was expecting it to be busy however had the pool all to myself on my first morning. Would definitely stay again.

Bowland bridge a quiet little hamlet that is a short drive approx 6 miles into Windermere. It was within easy reach of several pubs where you could eat. Very good location for getting to all the places that you would like to sightsee. There was walks there but unfortunately I didn’t have the time to explore the area. We ate at the brown horse which took about 8 mins to drive to. A great friendly pub with good food. The Hare and hounds in Bowland Bridge was my favourite pub. The food was excellent and great service from very attentive staff.

When we had a celebration meal in May we loved the place so much that we wanted to stay for longer this time. The room we stayed in was comfortable and clean. The staff are all very friendly and accommodating. The breakfasts and evening meals were tasty, huge and always piping hot. We like the place because of the piece and tranquility-it's 4 miles from Windermere so still easy if you want to be where there is more going off.

Gorgeous hotel with stunning views and excellent staff. My partner and I had a wonderful stay with you, the rooms are well equipped and extremely comfortable. The view from the rooms was stunning, as was the seating in the hotel both indoors and outdoor. Delicious food too, don’t miss out on dinner if you’re staying. Easily accessible yet secluded location really gave the country feel, truly lovely. Thanks so much for a wonderful night away, we’ll be back.

The breakfast was fabulous, the rooms were incredible comfortable and the nature around the hotel is wonderful. We have a small dog, and had a great walk in the morning before breakfast. Also the dinner was perfect after a long day of walking and exploring. You could warm yourself next to the woodfire, with a refreshing cider and a happy and tired dog at your feet. Highly recommended.

Great staff, food, beer and accommodation. Menu is excellent, and the breakfasts are excellent too. We couldn’t fault our 4 nights there. We both come from a hotel background, and we are a bit fussy about where we stay, but this was the 2nd time we have stayed, and we will be back.
