Our stay was very short so we didn't actually visit Sandy itself, but there were some lovely quaint little villages dotted all around that we drove through. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Jordan's Water Mill. The guided tour was very informative and it had toy rats hidden all over to engage the children. If they found them all, they got a medal at the end as a reward. There were some (free) outdoor games to occupy them also. The whole setting was delightful with its gardens and tearoom overlooking the river that runs under the mill. We also visited 'The Crown' pub in Northill, which served us an excellent meal and 'The Embankment' in Bedford was a lovely experience.

Sandy is nicely located in Bedfordshire.

Sandy is nicely located in Bedfordshire. It is a short drive to Milton Keynes, Peterborough and Cambridge. It was a nice place to relax and take a short break away from our busy lives. The food at the Kings Arms was fabulous. I will definitely be returning.

The doorways were just wide enough to fit our pushchair through. All the staff were very friendly but not professional as they dont even have a uniform which is strange for a hotel. Its not easy to turn right out of the hotel. The postcode takes you through the back of the petrol station but u can just access it via the roundabout

Although we were staying just outside Sandy at Days Inn we went into Sandy a few times mainly in the early evening to eat, we can highly recommend China Express wonderful food and service, we also enjoyed some fish and chips which were very nice from, I think it was The Town Fryer, and we sat eating them in the car while noticing what a lot of buses seem to serve Sandy in the evening.

Breakfast was hot, a good selection. Our room was on the second floor with good view over the park. The bed was comfortable. The hot water supply to the shower did not falter. The staff were friendly and helpful. But it would have helped to have had two staff overseeing breakfast as the hotel was busy. Our room did not have chairs, So apart from the bed, there was nowhere to sit. My husband discovered that the ground floor sitting rooms rooms with chairs were all still locked at 8am.

Exceptional - comfortable, quiet. Anne Marie and Tracy were very welcoming and friendly, and could not have done more for us. The rooms (we had two) were large, comfortable and had everything we could have needed for our stay. Would like to be able to stay longer, we only booked one night, however, we will be back and will stay longer. We will have to come back to Sandy due to family commitments and will most certainly be booking at Highfield Farm.

Great location - this was an old country house located in the middle of a 33 acre estate. A listed building it has now been renovated into a hotel. The house holds lots of old furniture and fixtures and has a lot of character and charm. The surrounding estate is lovely to walk around and is itself surrounded by countryside. Staff are friendly and helpful and the breakfast is good. The room was comfortable but the shower was rather small.

The hotel was one of the most beautiful and scenic places I have ever stayed in. The staff were exemplary with nothing too much trouble for anyone. Jen was so very welcoming when we arrived and also proved to be a great host in the bar. We are already booked in for December and looking forward to it very much. Our plans are to book for the following months ahead whilst we are visiting in the area.

There are very few places to stay in Sandy. The rooms are individual chalet type buildings with their own front door. The standard is fairly basic but the price is a budget price so overall fair.
