Everything, breakfast was good, room big and warm. Gym maybe a bit dated but still fantastic and met our needs. Water pressure in the room is the best I have seen at a hotel. Breakfast got cancelled on 2 mornings, but we had advance warning from the property, money taken off and made alternative plans. Not really a negative, it just goes to show that the property can effectively communicate with the customers when they are unable to provide some of the services.

FAQs about hotels in Milton Keynes

A Hub of Entertainment

Best known for its concrete cows and legendary roundabout system, Milton Keynes is just off the M1 motorway linking Birmingham and London. Its proximity to the latter triggered its development from village to new town in the 1960s.

Milton Keynes Village still exists, between tranquil Ouzel Valley Park and Willen Lake with its peace pagoda and watersports. Next door, Gulliver’s Land children’s theme park is bordered by the Grand Union Canal, whose banks have cycle and footpaths.

In the town centre is the aptly named MK Hub, an entertainment core near the train station. In addition to accommodation, bars and restaurants, it houses the huge Xscape complex, comprising the Airkix Indoor Skydiving centre, cinemas, and the UK’s largest indoor ski slope. Nearby are the shops of Centre: MK and Midsummer Place.

On the town’s outskirts is the National Bowl entertainment venue, and Bletchley Park, where the German Enigma code was cracked during World War II. To the east Woburn Abbey has a large safari park, while north-west is Silverstone, home of the British Grand Prix. The Red Bull Racing F1 team are based in Milton Keynes, and the MK Dons are the local football team. The Open University is also headquartered here.

Of the many Milton Keynes hotels, apartments and B&Bs on Booking.com, most have parking and some have swimming pools.

Let me tell you, if your into roundabouts every 200m this is the place to go. I've been MK a few times and I'm convinced nobody actually lives there I've not seen a single house just block after block of shop and office

An excellent hotel for responsible owners travelling with dogs. There is a set fee of £25 regardless of length of stay but that is understandable as rooms will require more cleaning. There are grass areas around for doggy toiletting & bins. There is a hard floor breakfast/ bar area where dogs are allowed. And you get a dog welcome bag when you arrive with a ball, 2 chews & poo bags. Well done Holiday Inn Express!

Having lived in Milton Keynes for many years, I was visiting family, as long as you know the grid system if M K you can get to where you want to. At one time you was able to pick up a leaflet about the roads, and how it works, but your hotel did not have this to hand. If you could provide visitors with this information I think they would be very grateful.

Loads of eateries and entertainment venues in close proximity to five or six major hotels. Nice green spaces scattered around the town. Easy access to the motorway network. Ate fabulous steak at the very stylish Kobe Steakhouse (Xscape, 602 Marlborough Gate, Milton Keynes MK9 3XS). Also ate at The Olive Tree (199 Midsummer Blvd, Milton Keynes MK9 1EA); huge portion sizes and lovely lively ambiance.

We only go for the theatre (or IKEA). Best theatre around, sound, stage setting, big shows. Easy to get to, parking over road, good hotels if you fancy a night away. Although nearby restaurants are not very good.
