FAQs about hotels in Milton Keynes

A Hub of Entertainment

Best known for its concrete cows and legendary roundabout system, Milton Keynes is just off the M1 motorway linking Birmingham and London. Its proximity to the latter triggered its development from village to new town in the 1960s.

Milton Keynes Village still exists, between tranquil Ouzel Valley Park and Willen Lake with its peace pagoda and watersports. Next door, Gulliver’s Land children’s theme park is bordered by the Grand Union Canal, whose banks have cycle and footpaths.

In the town centre is the aptly named MK Hub, an entertainment core near the train station. In addition to accommodation, bars and restaurants, it houses the huge Xscape complex, comprising the Airkix Indoor Skydiving centre, cinemas, and the UK’s largest indoor ski slope. Nearby are the shops of Centre: MK and Midsummer Place.

On the town’s outskirts is the National Bowl entertainment venue, and Bletchley Park, where the German Enigma code was cracked during World War II. To the east Woburn Abbey has a large safari park, while north-west is Silverstone, home of the British Grand Prix. The Red Bull Racing F1 team are based in Milton Keynes, and the MK Dons are the local football team. The Open University is also headquartered here.

Of the many Milton Keynes hotels, apartments and B&Bs on Booking.com, most have parking and some have swimming pools.

Interesting to watch this new experimental city to become an urban place. Great potential for future development. Of course without car its harder to explore, yet again opportunity for experimental urban transport.

Easy access to get to where you are going, roads are worked out on a grid system. Several retail parks around mk, mk theatre is always worth the trip, plenty to do with the children, plenty of parks and amusements, all worth seeing.

The hotel is clean & comfortable. The place looked up to date with just a little wear & tear. Staff were what made the place for me.Very helpful & friendly. Only disappointment was the breakfasts which were a bit overcooked on all the mornings of my stay. I liked the opportunity of a grab & go bag however , for when I was in a rush.

We arrived to be told they had run out of towels but they would have some in 30 to 45 minutes that actually took nearly one and a half hours which delayed us going out, bed was really hard so hardly slept no information about when breakfast was so missed that all in all it was a pretty awful stay, and would not stay in this or any other Campanile hotel again.

Th bed was single but comfy.

Th bed was single but comfy. That is all I cd say abt side to MK. Th window in th room was screwed down. This made th tiny room airless but we did hv a room fan that swished th warm air sbt th room. As for th noise, it was horrendous and after being told by a member of staff, then allowed to continue. We had little sleep. Once I complained to receptionist when leaving she just looked down and wrote down on laptop, when approached by her senior had to explain again. She said she cdnt do anything abt it but let her boss no. Do not go to this place. It is cheap, dirty and th food atrocious, disorganised out dated hotel.

I visit Milton Keynes for work on a monthly basis and this has become my venue of choice to stay over the night before. The reception staff are first class and the housekeeping staff are a pleasure to bump into. Nothing is too much trouble for any of them and they are always willing to help. We are now on first name terms, which is always a nice touch, even though I'm not that memorable but I do have a tendency to get lost sometimes! Overall, I prefer this place to some of the more upmarket hotels nearby.

Great location for a gig in Milton Keynes. Service station right there for snacks and they also did evening meals in the hotel. Room was clean, spacious and not noisy at all even though it was right next to the M1. It says it is a 2 star but definitely isn't.
