My stay was great. My checkout time was extended without too much fuss, the hotel having a gym etc was very useful. The car park being full was a bit annoying. However we were allowed to park outside which was helpful. 24 hours service and bar.

FAQs about hotels in Luton

A Bedfordshire Getaway

Set between 2 of England’s principal motorways – the M1 and A1(M) – Luton is best known as an arrival point of cheap flights to London. A low cost carrier hub, Luton Airport is home to the unmistakable orange headquarters of Easyjet.

Booking.com offers hotels within the airport grounds, as well as accommodation including guest houses in the town nearby, many of which offer free parking. However, this is not the only reason to visit.

Luton once had an important role in hat-making, an industry which has given its name to the Hat Factory performing arts venue. The town’s huge carnival is based in leafy Wardown Park, home of Luton Museum and Art Gallery.

Local crafts from yesteryear are displayed in the discovery centre at Stockwood Park. Also here is one of the golf courses surrounding the town, and just east is a spa and swimming pool at the Luton Hoo country house hotel. Another golf course borders the Dunstable Downs to the west, and a third is by Whipsnade Zoo, the largest in the UK.

Luton shopping options include The Mall (previously the Arndale Centre), and the nearby station offers direct trains to London St Pancras. Available restaurants cover everything from Indian to Caribbean and Malaysian.

    Luton is pretty depressing.

Luton is pretty depressing. The town centre has very little to it and feels intimidating. I was alone with my three year old and despite this we were approached several times. One woman even started shouting and swearing at us when we didn’t give her money. Town centre is run down and limited nice restaurant/cafe options. The library has a bouncer, which probably tells you all you need to know. However there are plenty of green spaces kust of of town and loads of great little market towns accessible by bus and train (Hitchin, Harpenden etc). The plus point of Luton is that it’s extremely well connected by train and bus. The airport is also very close and not expensive to reach by taxi.

I am biased as I always travel by air to Luton Airport, so its a little difficult with very early or late flights to travel long distances to my final destination. Much more convenient to stay nearer to the Airport

I went for family. luton is in south bedfordshire. it is largest town and suffers a bit of a decline. Near London espesc by train, St Albans and some villages (home of John Bunyan) and Dunstable (priory Church with extensive history: henry 1, 2, 8th). Easy to get to from M1. Near whipsnade zoo and woburn, and will be near new Universal Studios when it is built

Luton is ran down and feels like a niglected town by government, I found my interactions with the people in the area. Shops hotel staff friendly and helpful, But I wouldn't leave my hotel in the evening the square has alot of your men and the smell of cannabis everywhere around the treats is worrying.

    Very Very Bad hotel.

Very Very Bad hotel. The room is horrible and the bed and mattrass were from the last century, Can you imagine sleeping on a roller skate of a bed. The bed was very unconformable to say the list and the bed was always on the move when you got on it as if that wasn't enough I was having to pick up the mattrass as it moved anytime you moves while on the bed

This was a first-time stay at the Linton Hotel. I wanted a hotel away from London prices but with a quick and easy route to London via train. I had read the reviews about plane noise from Luton airport, the plastic cover on the bed (under the bedsheet) and the fold-down bed. None of it was a problem. The plane noise was nothing to be bothered about, the bed cover did not move at all and the fold-down bed (when folded up) made the room quite spacious. The breakfast really very good. No complaints there either.

We always stay at Holiday Inn Express London Luton Airport when we take a late flight to Luton as the hotel is very close to the airport. It is also very convenient for early travel to London by coach or train. We like the atmosphere and the early breakfast.
