Open-plan and open-minded, Cambridge is best known for university colleges dating to the 13th century. King’s College is the most popular, and its chapel choir is internationally famous. Although accessed from cobbled King’s Parade, it is best viewed from a punt on The Backs, the part of the River Cam behind.
Cambridge punting is an institution and gives great views of Queen’s College Mathematical Bridge and the Bridge of Sighs at St John’s College. Upstream is Jesus Green, site of an outdoor pool and a fantastic beer festival. Next to this is Midsummer Common, a park home to the annual Strawberry Fair (and the occasional cow). Opposite are the college boathouses - get up early to see the rowers in action!
Cows also roam the Mill Pond meadow, where the river leads south to Grantchester, a quaint village with a lovely cafe. Places to eat in Cambridge include riverside restaurants and typical English pubs like The Eagle, drinking hole of DNA founders Watson & Crick.
Cambridge shopping options include a daily market (in Market Square), the Grafton Centre and the exclusive Grand Arcade, the latest addition. The Scott Polar Museum and free Fitzwilliam Museum are 2 of many fantastic Cambridge museums.
Stansted Airport is connected by train to the city’s accommodation choices on Booking.com.
A beautiful historical town. Lots to see and do, events, plays, site seeing and exploring. Made up of 31 colleges. Besides walking to the daily market, through college grounds and around the town, it can also be taken in by different perspectives via punting, ghost tours or on the Hop-on-Hop off buses. Train station close to take trip to neighboring towns of Ely, Bedford or Hunstanton for a half day

We had planned to meet our daughter and partner to visit the University Botanic Gardens which were wonderful! We had 2 lovely meals; first at Cote Brasserie in Bridge Street and second at La Pergola a little outside the city. Was a lovely atmosphere on the Sunday walking by the shops near Kings College. My wife has a blue badge so parking was free.

Cambridge is undoubtedly a wonderful destination with many charming and historic sites to explore. Be sure to bring an umbrella/raincoat. As well as slippers and and towel as most hotels don’t provide. Most shops and transportation vehicles prefer cashless payments. Pre-book your visits to cafes or restaurants. Many museums are free to enter. If you plan to visit King’s College Chapel, booking a ticket on their website for the 9:30 AM opening time will allow you to enjoy fewer crowds and take great photos inside. Guided university tour and the boat punting are must try.

Easy to get around Cambridge on foot , there seemed plenty of buses although we didn't use the.
Try and avoid University open day as we were not able to to visit any of the colleges, and the city was very crowded that day.

The colleges are lovely old buildings, but most charge to view, We enjoyed the walks along the river and across the green spaces. The number of visitors mean that the pavements are fairly busy and it is difficult to step off pavements with out being run over by bikes. It is essentially a place for young people, there are a lot of Cambridge momento shops and restaurants. It felt quite an expensive city to stay in dine and shop in.
The hotel was excellent, very modern and completely spotless! The staff were super friendly and very accommodating even when we arrived earlier than our check in time. The room was great, the beds comfortable and again so clean!
Good location to the centre of Cambridge and the staff were helpful in telling us the best way to travel there.
The Hotel was so welcoming and accommodating and the owner was so pleasant. The checking in process was excellent and it was a great stay in Cambridge. Great value for money and so clean, the best location you can stay in Cambridge for going to most places.
Just a short ride from Cambridge city centre .Comfy bed ,good sized room .staff are really friendly and hard working .Free breakfast and free parking, great price for room . The staff in the hotel are a credit to the company.
Great suite with plenty of space for a family. Kitchen was well equipped. Bathroom was top. Bus to the city centre of Cambridge stops right next to the hotel. Sainsbury next door.
A brand new hotel that is easily accessible from M1 direction. There is a public transport nearby which takes about 25 minutes to Cambridge city centre. Breakfast is good.
