Pleasant place with lot of history .

Pleasant place with lot of history . Travelled by train and it would have been useful to have had large map outside station to help navigate way to the centre. It ws only on return journey I noticed pile of small maps at info stand at the station ! Walking from station to the High Street was hazardous for someone on foot - would have like more pedestrian crossings .

Loved the cathedral, and the included 'audio' guide which was more multimedia. We also saw the peregrine chicks via webcam Oliver Cromwell's house was interesting and worth the entrance fee We had dinner at the 'Wildwood'. Excellent pasta & risotto as main, and enjoyed the peach spritz cocktail

Oliver Cromwell's House, Ely Museum and the Cathedral. The riverside restaurant was very nice as the location was very attractive. Yes it's easy to get around Ely as everything is well signposted. Probably exploring the Fens a bit more. Walking and cycling around. Anglesey Abbey was really lovely too. Going to Cambridge by bus is a good day out.

This is a tiny city which is not only beautiful but easy to walk around. Its greatest asset is the cathedral which is well worth a visit. There is a lot of green space and riverside walks. The Lamb Hotel has a restaurant serving standard food, but it is cooked to perfection and the staff are lovely. The Cathedral restaurant serves good, well presented light lunches as well as cakes etc.

Cathederal wonderful, within easy walking distance. Oliver Cromwell's house worth a visit. Town centre quaint but a little run down. People are friendly. Definitely worth a visit of a couple of days, but probably not longer.

Loved Ely.

Loved Ely. However on the recommendations do what to see on the Booking.com app, all the places and activities listed were of Cambridge. We were able to buy a passport to visit the four main attractions of the Cathedral, Museum, stained glass Museum and Cromwell’s House. Lots of interesting shops and cafes. We were lucky with the weather.

Very characterful hotel in a lovely old building, with beautiful gardens around. Rooms are a decent size, the first time I stayed (family of 4) we got a massive room with a 4-poster double bed and two singles, the second time (one parent and child) an attic room that was still a good size for a double and two singles. Lovely breakfast with plenty of choice, but I had to request a discount for children as I thought it a bit much charging the same price as for adults.

Checkin staff was lovely. Room was pleasant and bed comfy. A cute area on the landing as you went upstairs to the rooms where you could help yourself to extra tea/coffee sweeteners etc. The room was clean and had a good sized TV. Rooms were quiet and the hotel is in a good location close to the market square. There is free car parking next door too.

The location was perfect to visit Ely Cathedral. We were able to park our vehicle in the hotel courtyard that was very helpful as my husband has a mobility problem. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. Staff are kind and helpful. There is nothing we did not like about Poets House.
