Great hotel if you only need bed & good breakfast. The staff were very nice and inviting. Special thanks to Adrienne: when the asian colleague told her it was my daughter's birthday, she and the brasilian colleague arranged a little surprise for her breakfast. Comfortable bed, good air conditioning. There are two train stations within 15 minutes walk. From there, it's a 20 minute journey to London Bridge, but you can go to other destinations. Highly recommended: install TFL app, it's a great way to figure out how to get to where you want.

I liked decor and presentation of the hotel as you walked in, friendly staff very helpful. The rooms had iron and iron board, in addition to the kettle, glasses etc which I liked not many I have come across to do that.

The hotel is full of character and is very comfortable - almost old world charm. Location was perfect for me in a quiet setting just outside London, but still easily accessible by train. The staff were helpful, food was good and the golf course was a decent little challenge.

Shopping Destination with Convenient Station

Midway between central London and Gatwick Airport, Croydon is a shopping haven. Hundreds of stores are found under the glass-roofed Whitgift Centre and the even more modern Centrale complex.

This thriving retail industry is one factor contributing to the town being London’s 3rd most important business area, so naturally it has its fair share of skyscrapers. Also tall is the red-brick Croydon Clocktower, housing the town museum, and attached to the town hall overlooking Queen’s Gardens.

Opposite is Fairfield Halls, a large arts venue behind which run train lines connecting East Croydon Station to London Victoria in one direction, and Gatwick and Brighton in the other. Modern trams also link the town to other suburbs. Croydon used to have its own airport (once more important than Heathrow) and its former terminal is a museum open one Sunday a month.

The town minster houses tombs of some archbishops of Canterbury and their summer residence was Croydon Palace, now a school. Much more famous is the BRIT School which has nurtured musical artists including Adele, Jessie J and Katie Melua.

    I like when we travel to Croydon we are able to meet up with...

    I like when we travel to Croydon we are able to meet up with family again and visit places we have not seen in a long while. Theres too many good events to highlight here but I shall include Christmas. We can also travel up town to see a play or get to Ronnie Scotts through Croydon mainline station or Hackney. This hotel is in a very accessible place for travelling intro town and around.

    Never saw much of Croydon as we only stayed for the one night. We did eat out for lunch in a nice pub in the market area. We were up for the night to attend a party and hotel was the nearest we could get.

    It was ideal for us as the reason for our trip was Wimbledon...

    It was ideal for us as the reason for our trip was Wimbledon and they run a tram to Wimbledon station and there you pick up a bus provided by Wimbledon for a small fee. It had plenty of shops and takeaways. The Box a ten minute walk from where we stayed or catch tram to East Croydon.

    Nice comfortable budget hotel.

    Nice comfortable budget hotel. I like the working lift at all times but it is essential for the security of hotel guests for it to operate with room security card. These are troubled times in the world and hotels should guard against undesirable intruders!

    We liked how close East Croydon station was to our hotel the Hampton by Hilton which was exceptional. Boxpark - lots of food choices. We recommend Poptata Street Fries - a wide range of fries and chicken including k-pop.

    I wouldn't recommend Croydon for your first time in London.

    I wouldn't recommend Croydon for your first time in London. I stayed around High Street near the fruit and veg market for a week and at another apartment a bit further up on High St for another week. It is a low-socio economic area, and such you get a variety of characters and the usual crazy people yelling. Not things you also don't see in other cities or more well to do areas - I'm from Melbourne, and have seen the same things in Richmond, Windsor, Fitzroy and these are also affluent areas. I did find it unsettling at times though, particularly walking down through the mall area. I stayed with a friend who was not from a multicultural background and she was quite overwhelmed and did feel unsafe. So I would say it's not suitable for solo female travellers.

    Breakfast is good. Wi-Fi is fast. The staff are very helpful. If you are driving in London, then it's a great location. They have parking onsite with lots of space. This hotel is near a commercial center with quite a few options of restaurants, within a walking distance (only 5mins walking). It's not far to East Croydon Station (about 8 mins by taxi), and from there you can take one of the express trains and be in the city center quite quickly.

    Perfect location near East Croydon station with easy access to Gatwick and multiple key terminals in London. No reason to pay a lot more to stay in the city centre when it's just as easy to come in with an 18-minute train ride. A 6-zone day card does not cost much extra and will get you to and from the airports as well.
