We had a stop over on our way from Liverpool to Poole and the Thatch Inn was a great stop over. The food was great in the restaurant - recommend the asian inspired elements. Very friendly staff.

We liked the old town which was very pretty but not pretentious. A bit run down in places but lots of new developments too, eg the Gloucester Docks. Lots of independent pubs and restaurants, not overpriced. Friendly people. Lots of history. Beautiful cathedral which is what we came to see.

It’s very easy to reach Gloucester from the hotel especially...
It’s very easy to reach Gloucester from the hotel especially if you like shopping at the Gloucester Quays. Found it very handy to get to Stroud and Painswick as well and the M5 motorway. I personally wouldn’t use the bistro pub for meals at the Gloucester quays- the high orchard. Microwave meals with the wrong prices still in the menus and bar staff manager who couldn’t give a toss. Yes gloucester is a nice area.
Yes gloucester is a nice area. But I would avoid staying at the new Inn, the management isn't fit for purpose. I've bren in other places with better management and more customer awareness. Management highly sensitive, room needs refurbishment. Just remember if you do stay there avoid saying something management doesn't like at the new inn, or you end up with a wooden bed, no shower or mattress. They get your money and you get free accommodation from his majesties police force. Don't waste your money, there is better accommodation in the area. Otherwise the area has great views, canal walks, and walks in general. And other stuff going on for it. It's a gorgeous place

Interesting city. Walks available, along canal, and nature reserve. Cathedral, old buildings, museums ETC to visit. Docks area great for drinking & dining. Small enough to reach everything on foot.

The apartment was better than we had imagined - spacious, very clean, well-equipped and ideally located for Gloucester city centre, just a few minutes walk from the Quays and Docks and the local park. If we go back to Gloucester, this will definitely be our first choice of places to stay and, hopefully, Dee will still be managing it!.

We parked in small Gloucester City Council car park with was £6.00 per day. This was very convenient to access to the hotel from the rear. I think it was £17.95 a day in NCP adjoining this car park. There was another multi-storey NCP nearby not sure how much this was but I think this is the one hotel recommended parking in. Fridge and Microwave in the room was very useful.

When I reached out they said they closed on the day o book but I had been in contact with the property about checkin and accommodation for an infant. they never mentioned it until it was too late. I was left stranded with a 3 month old baby out in the cold and the property has been ignoring me ever since.

We found this property and telephoned them - they were magnificent in arranging a child cot last minute for us, although they did not erect the cot they did put it in the room. I was given a big room on the ground floor, could sit out in the garden, and Karen even did some shopping for me so I could make use of the fridge and microwave in my room.
