Location and ambience
From start to finish the whole experience was great , comfy beds , clean rooms , great staff & yummy food
Delicious beer and food at this conveniently situated hostelry, and a comfortable room and night's sleep. Good car-parking in an off-road car-park, although due to popularity of the pub with the local population, cars were also parked all the way down the road outside
A little way off the beaten track so a good place to avoid the crowds yet still busy enough to have a nice atmosphere. Excellent evening meal, friendly staff and a very comfortable bed.
Flies in the restaurant. Given the countryside location and the exceptionally warm weather this was understandable. However, some form of insect control could have made the dining experience more pleasant.
Everything was to a very high standard - the room, the bathroom, the food. I noticed many well-executed details which means the owner was intent on providing the best.
Outside customers could see in the bedroom window
Thw fact that it was a pub, but better than a lot of 4 star hotels and executive rooms we've stayed in.
Loved the little snug bar with local ales, the restaurant food in the evening, the ambience of the place, the comfort of the room and the proximity to lymington for practical stuff
Friendly staff, good menu, large comfortable bed, excellent bathroom with shower etc. Wonderful peaceful village in The New Forest. Perfect for a night/or 2 away from it all, or just somewhere to stay when attending a wedding nearby.Local reliable taxi booked for us by staff. All round 10/10
Bed was comfortable. room was pleasant.
Staff were sullen and did not smile. Cost was more than advertised as I put that we were husband and wife but were shown only the single cost and charged an extra 29 pounds even though we book a twin room. Food was very expensive 12.50pound for plain fish and chips and peas. service at meal time not great.
The staff were so helpful, the room was beautiful and spotlessly clean. All facilities were good and the breakfast was really good.
Nothing to dislike
Comfort of bed and quiet location.
Coffee machine in room not working, told staff but nothing done. Room has noisy plumbing as I think the drains from every other room run through No 5. Dont know of the chef has changed in the last few weeks but although my evening meal starter was excellent, my fish was swimming in grease and the chips were well overcooked. Overall this stay was dissappointing and I wont be using this facility again.
Good Food Tastefully furnished bedrooms and fine quality bed linen
Great modern and clean rooms Excellent shower Great food Quiet location
Hotel had not taken on board our request for twin rather than double rooms. They did however compensate us by giving us money off and a round of drinks
Nice location, I had a very good, quiet nights sleep once the general movement from the pub died down at about 10:30. The staff went the extra mile and left me a breakfast selection outside my room as I was leaving too early on the Sunday. The Nespresso machine in the room was also an appreciated touch. Overall very nice and would be happy to recommend.
I wasn't quite sure what to do with my key on the Sunday morning as the pub was closed, I popped it through the letterbox, but perhaps a key drop off point would be good.
Fresh milk in room, helpful and friendly staff.
It had a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. The food and drink were excellent and the staff were friendly and efficient. A thoroughly nice place to stay.
Food was excellent and the location was good
Very noisy being a pub but never thought of this when booking.
Very comfortable bed in a pleasant room. Lots of fresh milk in a jug supplied in our room instead of little plastic containers.
The whole experience was good and we were well looked after. We enjoyed our evening meal and the full English breakfast was delicious. We would definitely use the East End Arms again.
A couple of minor things. There was no soap in any of our rooms , also two of us did not have bath mats. In one room the window blind was broken. This should have been seen to beforehand.
Friendly helpful staff. Great location. Fantastic food.
Breakfast a bit on the late side for business travellers.
Peace an quiet of the location allowed a few days to unwind.
Food was excellent and reception was excellent. Well worth a stay. We will be back
friendly staff and brilliant atmosphere
It was a pleasure to stay here, just wish we could have stayed longer to try the restaurant. If breakfast was anything to go by it would have been very good. The location is out of the way, but if that's what you're looking for it's ideal. Lovely ambience throughout and room was very comfortable.
