Evening meal good quality, portions and value pub grub. Room clean and comfortable. Friendly hosts, Nice location.
A really lovely little village. It’s a great base for exploring the stunning local scenery. It’s well served by an eclectic mix of shops, restaurants and attractions. There’s a shoe making shop, an eco/refill outlet, a great wine and spirits shop and tasting bar together with any number of independent cafes and restaurants. And not forgetting the National Trust property at one end of the village - it’s not
Open to the public but is very photogenic!

Lovely village but roads to and from very, very narrow, so be warned if you have a large car you will find yourself reversing to a passing place on occasions, or brushing the hedge to allow others to pass. The Ring Of Bells Pub is very pleasant but was a little cold in the bar area during our stay and the menu was good but a little restricted for those who were not great meat eaters. Apart from the Church there are no other places to visit in the village itself. The parking for the Pub is opposite the Church so a bit of a walk with your luggage - especially if it is raining! The waiting staff seemed generally very young and a little untrained in menu choices, information etc. but pleasant enough.

Lovely town on the edge of Dartmoor with excellent facilities - small Co-Op as well as a greengrocer, butcher and wholefoods shop, plus a pharmacy, newsagent and information centre. Plenty of choices for food and drink - we used both the Horse and Union Inn, but there are also cafes and other places to go for food and drink. Recommended.

Really enjoyed both dinner and breakfast. Since the weather was perfect, we appreciated being able to have a glass of beer or wine on the outdoor patio. My room was up a narrow staircase but once there, it was very comfortable and the bathroom was spacious and clean. We also loved our nearby country walk with distant views of Dartmoor that ended in the old church yard.
Very comfortable room and extremely friendly and accomodating hosts. They helped us store our bicycles for the night and it was lovely to chat to them while having their terrific breakfast. The location in the charming town of Moretonhampstead is excellent to explore Dartmoor, while offering a supermarket and several dining options in very close proximity.
The location was a perfect place to set out and explore Dartmoor. Our room was fantastic with a nicely firm mattress, two chairs, a fridge and view of the town. Breakfast was superb with delicious fruit, traditional items and fresh juice. We enjoyed wandering down the streets and even on the moors beyond the cemetery.
The porters on the front door were friendly and welcoming.
Lovely room, comfy bed and all areas of the hotel was beautifully decorated for Christmas.
The grounds were also beautiful. Both of our rooms were cleaned beautifully twice a day, so well done to the cleaning staff for doing a brilliant job, thank you!
A very relaxing, comfortable, homely B&B. Spectacular views of countryside and Dartmoor. Got to watch animals and sunset with my tea and book. Real cottagecore vibes. Owner was very friendly and welcoming; she made me feel right at home. Breakfast was hearty and delicious. What a memorable experience!
Very good communications from owner. Lots of parking. Very comfortable bed, and very good shower. Owner had left tea, coffee, cereals and some milk in the fridge. Excellent location, in relation to centre of Moretonhampstead - 5 -10 minutes walk.
We had dinner at the Hotel and it was wonderful. A hot breakfast which was included with the room. Breakfast was very tasty. The staff especially, Miles, was very helpful and had wonderful suggestions about what to see in the area.
Very comfortable, well appointed small hotel with a lovey owner. Breakfast was lovely, location in a small market town ideal for the local pubs and cafés, plus access to the Dartmoor National Park
Comfortable, clean, beautifully designed hotel and room. The food is ridiculously good. The staff and friendly, helpful and efficient. Seldom had a better hotel experience, even in 5 star hotels.
Lovely hotel in a fantastice location. Very friendly staff and food was excellent. Would definitely stay here again. There is no parking on site but a public car park only about 50 metres away.
Our stay was on a self catering basis. The apartment is close to the centre of Moretonhampstead, a village with a most amenities available for groceries, pharmacy and eating out.
Very clean bright and warm room. The hotel is in the centre of the town. Hosts are friendly and helpful people.
We enjoyed the welcome and the stay. Definitely recommend.
Room was comfortable, spacious, and quiet. Delicious breakfast cooked to order. Great location with plenty of restaurants nearby and on the Dartmoor Loop drive.
