Property was clean and well-maintained. View from pools is fantastic. Room just seemed very badic for a 5 star hotel - I am not sure if maybe different rates get you more. This stay was purely for transfer to the airport the next day, so just needed a bed for the night and a taxi to the airport the following day
However I have stayed in Kalamata many times before, and it is a wonderful city for a short break, with a great choice of lively cafes and eateries on the seafront.
The traffic is lighter along the seafront than in most Greek cities; Kalamata feels safe to walk around at night and in the daytime there are some interesting historic areas and museums to visit.

Kalamata is a fantastic place but it does take a while to become familiar with it. We've been on many occasions and we prefer to take the bus in (from Stoupa) because we find driving in Kalamata quite stressful. This is not because of the Greek drivers who are very courteous but more because we are not too familiar with the roads.
Our favourite place to visit is the market, which is on Saturdays and Wednesdays and it is fantastic. The quality, selection and price (and especially the price) are fantastic. The bus station is just across the road from the market so not far to walk.

Kalamata is a great small city in the Peloponnes, which caters for every interest. It has a some historical places, a beautiful old town with tradtional shops, an amazing coast with beaches, super clean water, very good and afordable restaurants and bars and a great ambiance. A city which you can explore easily by foot.
Further it can be used as a base for some of the most interesting places to visit in the Peloponnes like Mani, Mystras, Koroni, ancient Messene, the Apollon Temple and a lot more.

What an absolutely amazing growing metropolis!
What an absolutely amazing growing metropolis! Safe, secure, welcoming, fashion oriented, health conscious residents and simply a pleasure being around.
Simply attending a town square on any given night will be demonstration enough to illustrate the hospitable welcoming people of Kalamata with children of all ages playing with each-other, (no phones included, LOL), laughing, talking as kids should!
Everyone is not only healthy, but fit. It was astonishing that we struggled with my wife to find any unfit person in hundreds of people, especially the kids in town!
Bravo Kalamata... you are doing things right!
Perfect location to stay a bit in Kalamata or for travelling to the airport. Beach just a short walk and in case you are lucky you get a room with a fantastic view to the beach and the mountains. Many bars and restaurants close-by. Very polite receptionists. Nice hotel with clean rooms with enough space and a balcony. The breakfast with local dishes was our highlight of the stay in Kalamata as it's served in the rooftop restaurant. From here you get a perfect view over the bay and the mountains. The best way to start the day!
If there is a Greek riviera, this must be it. A beautiful modern room in a historic but completely remodeled building with marble, marble, marble and exceptional artwork. Dine inside, just in front, or just across the single lane road/walkway under umbrellas and on the waterfront. Staff are friendly and accomodating. There are many restaurants to choose from lining the waterfront. Watch each morning as the local boats bring in the day's catch. Our room had two balconies! Convenient free parking just behind the hotel.
The accommodation was in a quiet area, no disturbing traffic. The neighbors were good. The balcony was large and with sea views with sunset. If it got too hot, there was an awning and jalusi. And with mosquito nets, we did not have to worry about any insects, in general, there were not many of them. The beds were excellent. The kitchen was well equipped and we could cook several evenings. The courtyard was a sea of flowers. The hostess was the friendliest you can find in Greece, and she loves flowers.
Georgios the host was fantastic, always on hand for any questions and very welcoming. We stayed in Angelina's Quarters and it was immaculate and a really enjoyable space to relax in with its pretty balconies. The location is ideal, wandering down Faron street past many coffee shops, patiseries and shops is just idylic. The beach and its many tavernas are perfect. This was, without doubt, one of the best holidays in Greece we have ever had. We will be back for sure!
The property was absolutely Fabulous. we were met by Effie and George who were amazing. the whole feel and experience of the hotel was fantastic. The breakfast in the morning was a real treat. Traditional food from Greece/Kalamata served individually to your table. A feast fit for a king.
we highly recommend this Location was perfect, in the Centre of the town and close to all shops and tavernas.
thank you for an amazing stay 😁
We especially enjoyed the view from our room to the sea. The terrace of our room was very large, as the bed was, too. The breakfast buffet offered a broad range of cooked and continental food. I enjoyed the home made confiture/marmelade. Th parking was free and the accessibility easy. From the hotel it was about 15-20 minutes walk at the beach boulevard to the harbour area of Kalamata. I will recommend the hotel to friends.
Perfect location, very close to the nice beach area. Dimitrios is a great host and was very flexible with our booking. The rooms are not very new, but you will have everything you need. great sea view! since we came in winter, it was great that we had proper heating and hot water in the shower immediately when you opened the tap. it´s not easy to find something like this in Greece. Overall we had a very nice stay.
Perfect location on the beach and for restaurants. Hotel Alexandrion is a little rough around the edges but it's ideal for people like us travelling around Greece without a car. It's even on the Number 1 bus route from the bus station with a bus stop right outside reception. Our host was lovely, always helpful, chatty and smiling. Our seafront room had a balcony looking right out to sea.
It is a very convenient room in Central Kalamata. I enjoy having the central square just outside the door to walk, shop, and eat. It is near the Agricultural Cooperative Messinia Union shop where I like to buy local products for gifts and for myself.
The room was clean, comfortable, and had everything I needed for a short stay.
Best host ever!!!
We were traveling with motorcycle and according to flooding in Greece and conditions on the road we didn't make it to Kalamata at all.
Olga, the host was to kind to offer the money back, because we have already paid the room.
Today I received payback.
THANK you and Booking. You are the best,
Beautiful breakfast buffet every morning, and the hotel was conveniently located to many shops, restaurants and bars on the strip. Although we were able to get parking inside the garage, they are parking was a little bit tight for the size of the property.
The staff was exceptional. All of them, including the trainee went above and beyond to assist me. Great tips for local trips around the city and the beaches nearby Kalamata. The staff at the bar right next to the Hotel is also very friendly.
You are very high up in the Verga neighborhood, so the views were outstanding of the sunsetting. The place is very clean and the best hot water in Greece so far. Nice breakfast snacks, plenty of towels for shower and pool.
The hotel is an oasis of calm and luxury with perfect service and amazing kindness and consideration from all staff in every department. Wonderful pool and garden with very good food, snacks and drinks service.
