Great place to stay if you want to explore the western side of Crete. Our apartment was spacious and sparkling clean. We didn't use the small kitchen so can't comment on that, but we did had an electric kettle and a french press to brew fresh coffee in the mornings. One more thing - I needed to check in very late and the hosts were kind enough to provide that.

Typical Greek seaside town with adequate facilities, plenty of tavernas and some good shops. A bit scruffy and run down in places with some derelict buildings, badly maintained public walkways and litter. Some smart hotels but otherwise feels a bit run down. Great location for those wanting to visit tourist destinations across west Crete.

Its rather small and quiet village, with few cafes and restaurants near by. The beach is ok, especially for families. If you walk parallel to the coastline you will find a beautiful ancient monastery.

You should not believe the good reviews this place had.
You should not believe the good reviews this place had. The place is isolated and hard to find. Unpleasant location with building going on around it and many stray dogs. It doesn’t have any hotel facilities but cannot be regarded as a self catering apartment as no facilities to prepare or eat food. It is miserable and we left after one night . We were alone in the place all night
The only interesting place in the vicinity was a monastery about 25 min walk away

The place is very far and inconvenient to get to, there is nothing in the area except the hotel you choose to stay in and you should also pay attention to that, because there are a few good hotels, everything else should stay away from them. The beaches are not so accessible for swimming and there are usually high waves, from October it gets very cold with strong winds in the area which makes it even more difficult to relax and enjoy a good tan or a walk on the beach.

The local government needs to invest more in the infrastructure, and complete half-finished projects, such as installing the missing lampposts and planting trees or shrubs in the erstwhile empty planters. There were also signs of unsightly fly-tipping. Pity that I noticed that there were no bring in sites and locals seemed to dispose of domestic waste without separating the recyclable from the organic.
There is a good supermarket within walking distance, so one can stock up easily. The seaside restaurants serve fresh local food and are very fairly priced. A very quiet town and no evident nightlife.

Quiet small village with an authentic atmosphere.
Quiet small village with an authentic atmosphere. There are some wonderful hidden gems in the neighborhood. Lack of very noisy, touristy spots is a bonus - it feels very relaxing, calm and private. A great place to stay when exploring the west of the island. Accessible by public bus directly from Chania.
Best thing about the hotel is the staff, they were really nice and accomodating, making sure our stay there is perfect (manager, bartenders and waiters all together)
The hotel is beautiful, the rooms are clean and modern, and over all very very calm (the "no children" helps). Perfect for those searching to be reposed.
The food is good and variate (lots of fruits and salads but lacking in sea food)
There are 3 themes night a week with live music where the hotel is more animated which is a good balance.
We found the hotel extremely well maintained and clean. Facilities were first class and the staff especially on the front desk with a special mention to Daria who look after us through our stay. The food at the buffet, pool side bar, sea side restaurant and pizzeria was excellent. Special mention to Manolis and Sertzian in concierge who are both perfect in the roles as been the first and last faces you see at Avra Imperial.
The place was very clean and new. Hotel quality room with new appliances in the kitchen. Beautiful bathroom with large walk in shower (with amazing water pressure). The rooftop patio is great to tan on during the day or do some star gazing at night. 5 min walk down to a pebble beach or take the bus to platanias. (Bus stop is on the main road 3-4 min walk from the house. I would 100% stay here again!
Food is... ok. There is much room for improvement. Toilet and shower in the rooms are connected, no locks, glass door.... Very very very! Intimate. Not suitable for every one.
Allinclusive should not charge 2eu for a coffe pod. It's not so important. Does not change allot and still.... annoying and useless... it's not like the hotel is making extra cash on a few coffe pods...
I wish I could find more small hotels like this. It is beautifully done, unique, and very comfortable. You can see that the owner takes great pride in his hotel, and he has thought about taking care of his guests as if he would stay there himself. We slept very well (CocoMat beds are amazing) and enjoyed staying here. Thank you to Stelios for such great hospitality.
Staff was very welcoming, friendly, professional and helpful. Especially receptionist was very helpful and accommodating since the day we arrived and always easy to ask if we needed any information of the hotel and even find time to recommend villages to visit like Maleme village which has the most amazing view and an old airport. Worth a visit!
New hotel in the calm Kolymbari village. Swim-up pool and pool areas were nice. Ok buffet with varying themes, but you also have a row of good fish restaurants close by. Great hotel gym. Staff was young, but very service minded, all our requests were swiftly dealt with.
Hotel size and facilities were great. The staff were very friendly and available throughout the day for anything we needed. Special thanks to Ellie from the front desk for welcoming us and arranging the various excursions to the beautiful surrounding islands/beaches.
The hotel is very nice, clean, with big and comfortable apartments. We had breakfast and dinners and the food was delicious.
The staff are very friendly and helpful.
The two pools and aqua park are clean and nice.
Beautiful gardens and cozy area.
Great hotel for families.
The service was great.
The water park is excellent!
The room was very comfortable (they upgraded us to a big room).
the snack bar is offering diversified food all kind.
I loved this friendly, family run hotel, they were so nice to me and wonderful, and also very helpful if i needed anything. I would defenetly stay there again when returning to Creta.
The hotel is owned by a fantastic helpful and friendly family who are also working there. They gave us many good inputs which made our vacation fantastic.
Overall the hotel was clean, with nice views (the pool was definitely a plus on the view side), more than decent breakfast and friendly and helpful staff.
I liked the intrection with the hotel's employees.
The cleaning was very good.
The food was delicious and the pool/water park was very good for the kids.
