Storybook setting on a mountain top. Lovely, comfortable room with a terrace that overlooks the valley. Huge bathroom with clothes washer that came in handy after our hikes. Lorena is a wonderful host who provides a lovely breakfast you can enjoy on your terrace for a very reasonable price. She can also hook you up with a very fun truffle hunt led by her son and his dogs. This can be followed by a black truffle lunch prepared by Lorena and served in a beautiful garden setting. We loved this.
Free parking in upper public lot and ride provided up to villa.

The apartment is very large, and the view from the bathroom window is lovely. It's very nice that parking is included, though it was almost always full, so I wonder what you would do if there were no spots available.

A super location for a stay near Motovun. Nena is an exceptional host who kindly took our bikes in and locked them away in the garage. She took us to the village in her car which is a 25 min walk up the road. She also made us coffee and pastry breakfast.

This apartment is in a beautiful location if you’d like to unwind after a long day of seeing Motovun. My partner and I biked to Motovun, then checked in around 7 pm, and left in the morning via the Parenzana (additional perk that the path is right by). The apartment is a bit far from Motovun by foot, took us approximately 15 minute by bike (and that was going downhill). We didn’t stay long in the morning and did not get to experience the complimentary breakfast that many other reviews referred to. The apartment did have an electric kettle (but no instant coffee) and a mini fridge. Everything was very clean and we loved sitting in the backyard, watching the stars.

Great place for lovers of medieval hill-top towns and truffles. One can enjoy just a stroll through the town and views of surroundings for an hour, can have a great dining experience or stay for days and explore Istria, one of the prettiest and welcoming places on earth. "Medieval" and "hill-top" also mean that you walk a lot on rugged cobblestone, you walk uphill and climb stairs, and "great place" means it's crowded in the high season (summer). Still, one of the better places to escape to from crowded coastal towns, focused primarily on visitors' wallets.

A classic medieval town that was so fun to explore.
A classic medieval town that was so fun to explore. Be sure to visit the cathedral (opened about 10 during our visit) and (carefully) climb the bell tower for a spectacular view of the valley and beyond. We visited in late October when some businesses had closed for the season and others were winding down. We would visit again in September.

Great location in old town.
Great location in old town. Wonderful people and amazing views from the walls and restaurants. Wine and truffle country and free samples were almost too much. Lol
Tiny and hilly old stone streets within a walled city oozing with history.
Our host was gracious, laid back and a pleasure to just chat with.
We would highly recommend.

It's a spectacular location on a hilltop with amazing views all-round of mountainous country including vineyards & olive groves. Delicious and reasonably-priced restaurants at the very top, friendly people, tons of charm. Nearby are several vineyards & the local wines are very nice, and affordable. Easy day trips to Pula, Rovinj, Buzet & others.

This was my first time in Istria.
This was my first time in Istria. We checked out Kozlovic winery, we sampled their delicious wine and had a tour. View is spectacular. Had dinner in Motovun, tried gnocchi with truffles, very tasty! Pictures of the amazing views do not do it justice. Will definitely visit again!

Motovun is lovely little town in the heart of Istria.
Motovun is lovely little town in the heart of Istria. I really liked it. The prices at restaurants in general in comparison to offer are a bit limited. However we managed to find something for ourselves at the end. We missed bakeries. We did not find single one so we travelled to Pazin on our way back home and found amazing bakery.
Perhaps tourism board should create a special list with all possible places providing food and menu of same, all in one place saves from walking especially if one has slight walking disabilities.
Everything else is lovely and look forward returning to Istria
We absolutely loved our stay! Our host was so incredibly kind, offering us coffee and homemade cake (all made from produce in her garden), as well as, fresh figs! Such a welcoming homstay with a beautiful view of Motovuns surrounds. The little touches of lollies left on our pillows, sweet liquor offered in the room for a drink and slippers made the place have a sense of luxury without the huge price tag!
We couldn’t recommend Nena more highly and will defiantly stay here again in the future if we are ever visiting Motovun again.
The hotel is amazing. it’s perfectly located for a 20-30 min walk into Motovun. The service is incredible. The staff are all very helpful and friendly. The rooms are very different but really cool. You can do wine tasting in the evening which is very good. Breakfast and dinner is on the terrace overlooking the beautiful countryside. You can borrow bikes and cycle to neighbouring towns along a disused railway track. The swimming pool, sauna and steam room were all excellent. It’s a beautiful hotel.
Hotel Kaštel is fantastic place, very cozy and fully equipped. Hotel is very well located, on the top of city. Transportation and cheap parking is included in price.
Staf is 10/10, very communicative and nice to talk, very friendly and helpful.
We don't eat breakfast, because of very early check out but they surprised us with coffee and tasty croissants
It was perfect, like a dream place. Every detail was just perfect - general spirit, great furnished, lights, candles, coffee machine and millk in the fridge! Wine on the table. Music ♥️ View, place to drink coffee outside on the morning. Eco as well which is not common in Croatia.
The hosts are super friendly and helpful. The room is spotless clean and nicely decorated. Breakfast was not included but the landlady served coffee and cookies every morning. Very near to Motovun. Car parking is available when you come by car.
The rooms are comfortable and spacious. Beautiful scenery. Quiet. Excellent dinner and breakfast. We enjoyed Toni and staff. Don’t expect or look for a lot of interaction - simply enjoy their company and character. It was a very relaxing time.
Absolutely incredible!
Great house, view, location, patio, and Hot tub! This home has everything you could possibly need. The best possible location to enjoy Motovun and the surrounding area. We highly recommend Casa Histria!!!
Very friendly couple. Great to have parking available, and help getting the luggage to the guesthouse. Lorena made us very welcome and we had an excellent bed and breakfast. Motovun was an amazing location too.
The host was super friendly and helpful. The bedroom is huge. We were traveling by bicycle so there was plenty of space for our bikes and all our kit. As for Motovun, what a beautiful place with a stunning view.
Charming and renovated place located in the middle of Motovun old town. We had dinner in the restaurant of the same owner and the quality of food was excellent. Parking was free of charge and nearby.
Perfect location with great access to Fakin winery. Motovun was nice to visit but Brkač was better to stay in. Hosts were extremely hospitable and responsive with recommendations.
This is a large, spacious room really in the middle of so much. The hostess, Irena, was welcoming and helpful. Parking was extra but much less that the city rate.
