This place is a little gem. Home from home, comfortable, clean, with wonderful, friendly and helpful staff & management. Couldn't fault their welcoming attitude & the general service they provided. The food was very tasty too. There was a lovely hot tub (Jacuzz)i, , which was great, with fantastic views. From the restaurant the sunsets were amazing... cannot wait to return ......

Miramare Hotel is situated about 5 minutes from Kolovare Beach and a 15 minutes walk to Zadar Old Town There is a huge supermarket nearby - only 10 minutes walk from the hotel (Interspar) The pool is a good size and we didn't have any issues with guests reserving seats by the pool - always manage to get a good spot! The staff were so lovely and helped out whenever they can - even gave us a basic introduction to what was good and where to go in and around Zadar - I felt like I was really well taken care during my visit!

FAQs about hotels in Zadar

Dalmatias Historical Heart

Tucked away on the crystal blue waters of the Adriatic Sea and surrounded by small archipelago, Zadar is sprinkled with Romanesque architecture, medieval churches and protected by 16th century fortifications and high walls.

As the waves crash along the shores, the sea organ will play its harmonic sounds and welcome you to Zadar’s lively and charming Old Town, located across from the mainland. It is lined with marble walkways, landmarks, fascinating museums, and priceless archives.

It is home to the National Museum, Five Wells Square, the 14th-century University of Zadar, and the Roman Forum which features the 9th-century St Donatus' Church and 12th-century St. Mary's Church.

Stroll along the pretty tree-lined promenades and enjoy a meal in the several cafés, restaurants and bars which line Zadar's streets. Visit the popular Peoples Square in the district Narodni trg and shop in the Mercator Centar or City Galleria.

Booking.com has places to stay in Zadar and across the coastline in cities such as Bibinje, Petrcane and Sukošan. Zadar Airport links the city to several European destinations.

The city was very family friendly, and the restaurants were lovely! So many ice cream shops and didn't feel too crowded. The sunsets are spectacular, and recommend going 45 minutes before the sun sets to catch a good spot! It gets really busy around the sea organ, but totally worth it

PuntaMika was fabulous & highly recommended a brilliant base of operations. So easy to get to old town Zadar I'd highly recommend walking down to the Marina & getting on the water taxi 10 euro return & a great way to Zadar from a different angle. Also you'll need to experience The Greeting To the Sun that can only be appreciated at night & the sea organ will blow your mind & ears. These things really are a must do !

The old town is nice but in general Zadar is nothing big.

The old town is nice but in general Zadar is nothing big. One day and you will see it all. The food is above average. I couldn't call it a beach. More of a shore with rocks with opportunity to swim. I understand people have nothing else to do around. If you come for a week or so book trips around because there is nothing much to do in the city. In general it is clean and nice and a good starting point for trips

We really enjoyed Zadar because it had just the right balance of being "touristy" without feeling overcrowded or like a party town. There are plenty of travel agencies offering excursions, which made it an ideal base for exploring other parts of Croatia. The old town is a pedestrian-only area, full of charming restaurants, cafés, and bars—perfect for relaxing. Everything is conveniently within walking distance; airport shuttle bus, intercity buses, or the pier for Adriatic boat trips. And the sea organ is absolutely amazing.

It is a beautiful (very) old town surrounded by a new town.

It is a beautiful (very) old town surrounded by a new town. There are many restaurants but not all are good. Prices have become much higher due to the EU and Euro. We found some spectacular cake and ice cream. Good opportunities for excursions: Kornati, Plitvice, Ugljan, ... In the harbors you can spot some luxury yachts. Public transport is said to be flaky, you see many taxis. It is doable without a rental car if you have good walking shoes. It is hot and the sun is bright, protect yourself. Read the reviews in order to avoid the tourist traps and find the good places.

Ideal for our short stopover in Zadar- only a 15 minute stroll into the old town. In a lovely quiet area with access to a pebble beach area. Spotlessly clean room and hotel overall. Our room was large room with 3 balconies (i think we were upgraded as it was low season) and sea view. Breakfast buffet was surprisingly good and included lots of local specialities to try. Great pool area for relaxing (but didn't swim as its early in the season and too cold for me!). Easy access free parking.
