BelgiumThe conservatory was such a wonderful little area to sit and read. Our daughter especially loved the ability to roam around the farm, making wishes in the well, talking to fairies, searching for kittens, and following our hosts around like they were her long-lost grandparents.

United StatesThe hosts were marvelous and very attentive. They provided a lovely brunch spread for the 4 of us that took us through our entire stay. We were in walking distance to the Castle, village of Birr and the pubs and restaurants and it's central location in general put us in reasonable driving distances to explore the surrounding areas. A beautiful sitting area in garden area was very nice.

Birr might be a small town but it (like many small Irish towns) is full of history with plenty of places to eat and shop and a wonderful castle and grounds right in town. Everyone we met was so friendly and nice; we were even invited to stay with a local at their home if we wanted to return to the town in the future (in a serious way, not a casual "I'm-just-being-polite" kind of way). Because of it's central location, it's a good launch point for day-trips to other parts of Ireland as well with lots of natural and historical points of interest within a 30 min drive. Birr is a lovely town - we visited family and friends and spent some time exploring the town. We visited Birr Castle and gardens, which are spectacular. We visited the castle grounds which were excellent and much better than we expected. Town centre has everything and reasonable cafes. Lots of pubs but then it was Ireland! Visit the castle. You could around the grounds for hours. Lovely science museum in the castle. Lots of shops. Park and walk around it’s busy for driving. Pay your parking ticket wardens around all the time. Didn’t have time to investigate it further. We had all our food a Dooley’s it was fabulous.Guest review byLilian

We arrived early and asked was the room ready. We were told that it could be at a charge of €25. On payment of the money we were handed the keys and were told the room was ready.
