Ice House Hotel, hotel in Ballina

The beautiful Ice House Hotel is right on the River Moy Estuary at Ballina. It has stunning views, ultra-luxury bedrooms and the award winning Chill Spa with its Waterside Garden.

We had the most wonderful time celebrating our engagement here! We checked in early and enjoyed a lovely cocktail in the bar before heading for the spa. We both really enjoyed the treatments and the unique setting - I had a seaweed bath while looking out on the river. The room was beautiful and the hotel helped to arrange lots of little surprises to celebrate our occasion. The staff were so lovely and helpful. We had a delicious meal in the restaurant - incredible food in a beautiful setting. We can't wait to come back!

Quignalegan House, hotel in Ballina

Just a 5-minute drive from Ballina center, the award-winning Quignalegan House offers hearty breakfasts and 3-star rooms with free Wi-Fi. The cozy B&B is located on the main N59 road.

The owner/hostess, Breege, could not have been more lovely, pleasant, accommodating and helpful. She made a beautiful breakfast of eggs and toast, with buffet options of cereal, milk, fruit, yogurt, coffee, tea, etc. The house was quiet and clean, with en suite bathroom/shower, comfortable bed, flat screen TV. The location was A+ for me as it was central to all of the local villages i wanted to see. But just be aware that if you are coming for Inishcrone beach, it is an approximate 10-15 minute drive. The house is very easily accessible, plenty of parking, and quiet.

Ballina is a friendly and very interesting town.

Ballina is a friendly and very interesting town. There are many places of interest with interest boards and murals explaining about people and places. The Jackie Clarke Collection is well worth a visit, and it is free. You can read about many people and events in the town and surrounding area then go visit them. It is clear the War of Independence and the Civil War had huge effects upon the town and surrounding area.

Plenty of shops, pubs and restaurants in this picturesque town on the river Moy. We can see why Jack Charlton loved the place. We enjoyed watching the anglers waste deep in the river fishing for salmon. We had dinner in the hotel on both evenings and the food was great.

A lovely town, with lots to see and do in the area, nice places to eat, close to many other nice places to visit, so a good base for the area. Get out and enjoy the music and arts, and its ambition to be the most climate friendly town.

The Loft is right in the center of town, but I could only tell from the amount of people in the ground floor pub. The hotel above was very quiet and comfortable. The staff couldn't have been kinder, helping find shelter for the bicycle I was riding along the Wild Atlantic Way. The trad breakfast in the pub was terrific. One thing to note is that there are many stairs to get to the rooms, so take caution if you have ambulatory difficulty. If you are staying in or passing through Ballina, stay here; I would again.

Great location, beautiful and peaceful place at the coast. Close to the big , amazing beach, great place for surfers or for nice long walks. Around 30 min drive to Ceide Fields ( archaeological site of North Mayo) and around 20 min to Downpatrick Head. The host Michaela was amazing. Very nice and helpful person. She provided all the information about the area, what to see, where to go. And breakfast...very very good typical irish breakfast with joghurts, cereals and fruits. Highly recommended place!

Great central location. Apartment was absolutely spotless, very clean and tidy. Lots of facilities/utensils in the apartment provided. Kate was on hand via text to answer any questions and replied fast. If you don’t know the area kate provided videos for parking and various ways to access the apartment depending which way you would be coming into Ballina. Ideal for anyone new to Ballina prior to arrival!

Everything! From the moment I booked it til the day we were going home we had easy communication with our host. The best time in the most comfy stylish spotless accomodation full of little quirks. A welcome pack & message on arrival. Walking distance into town. Shop/petrol station across the road. Central location to explore the Mayo North coast. We will definitely be returning!

The location was perfect for the areas we wanted to go sightseeing and the staff were accommodating and friendly. We had breakfast included and it was excellent in quality and quantity, we also chose to eat our evening meals there as it was such great value for money. The room was very cosy, clean and perfect for downtime after travelling around Co. Mayo.

The room was spacious and beds were comfortable. We were on a motorbike trip so needed parking which is why we used this hotel as it had on site parking. Ballina was a perfect spot to split up our trip up the west coast. We also used the hotel as it had a pool and sauna etc and we thought it would be nice to relax after a long couple of days on the bikes.
