It is right across from the tram so it was easy to get from the hotel to the bustle of the city. The location was convenient and although it wasn't near the main attractions of the city it was a quick tram ride away. we often took the tram to Jervis where there were a bunch of cute little cafes and walked across the bridge to the city center.

Loved being able to arrive from an international flight to the hotel at 10:30 am and get real scones and decaf coffee. The location was perfect as it was a short ride by bus to the city center, a Lidl was literally next door (we kept popping in for this or that) and the bus stops in each direction were just a few hundred feet from the hotel entrance.
Boasting a 21-yard swimming pool, a spa bath and a steam room, this 4-star hotel is just 10 minutes’ drive from Dublin Airport.

The location of the hotel was exceptional! It was close to the harbor, with lovely views, but also very walkable to town and a bit longer walk to the Malahide Castle and Gardens. I loved the covered parking, where I could ditch the car and explore Malahide on foot. The room was quiet and comfortable, the bathroom was exquisite (and sparkling clean). The reception area and lobbies were calm, serene, and beautifully decorated. Finally, breakfast was fantastic, with kind, attentive staff, and a ton of options to choose from. Finally, the Dublin airport was a quick, easy, toll-free drive from the hotel, making that the icing on the cake!
Attractively located in the center of Dublin, The Mayson has air-conditioned rooms, an outdoor swimming pool, free WiFi and a fitness center.

The location is good if you want to stay near the business district or the Point. The breakfast is good (if you get the full Irish). I'd personally prefer a buffet breakfast. The view from the restaurant on the top floor is nice enough. Prices are a tad on the expensive side upstairs, but there's good value to be had in the downstairs restaurant if all you want is a decent enough meal without too many additional trimmings. The rooms were very quiet - I normally don't sleep well in hotels, but this was one of my best 'away' sleeps ever, so that's a big thing for me.
Poor service, understaffed and slow. Room was grubby with bird droppings all over the window, There was a hole in the carpet in my room. The breakfast was poor, soggy hash browns and cheap produce . Drinks are very expensive and the hotel is in serious need of a makeover. It is a real shame because it has the potential to be a great hotel.

Good location - you can get to the city centre easily in approx. 30 minutes but avoid the hustle & bustle. It's lovely to sit at the end of the day either in the restaurant or outside on the terrace with the beautiful view of Dublin Bay with a meal or a drink & maybe finish off the day with a lovely walk along the beach. You can get a bus outside the door that will take you to Howth with it's lovely harbour, cafes, restaurants & the beautiful cliff walks.

Stay away from this hotel!
Stay away from this hotel! We only stayed one night thank goodness on our way back to airport and last night in Dublin. Thought we would have a quiet stay near the ocean. The hotel had booked a wedding party that had taken over all the space in the hotel. There was no restaurant as advertised, they are not within walking distance of anywhere else to eat. So the only thing available is the bar . The bar was packed with the wedding party and one bartender. I couldnt even order a drink at the bar as I couldnt get his attention. We finally found a dirty table to sit at and sat there for 2 hours with not one staff member offering us anything or to even clean the table. We finally complained to the front desk who found us someone to take our food order , after we ate we never saw them again. The room faced the courtyard which was bright and loud with the wedding but if we shut the curtains we got no air at all as there is no AC and not even a fan. The windows are filthy and the gate to beach overgrown with weeds. To top it off in the morning they included breakfast as we were leaving we went down as soon as they opened. We were the only guests in the place but they wouldnt let us sit near a window to enjoy the view as it was reserved for the wedding party. No one else even came in the place while we were there!

You can take a bus into the centre of Dublin or to Howth with harbour, coffee shops, restaurants & lovely cliff walks.
Sutton is a very safe area, there's plenty of parking, the railway station takes you into the ciry centre with access to trains all over Ireland.

Wee were at a Wedding here. It was absolutely fabulous.
Wee were at a Wedding here. It was absolutely fabulous. After 1.5 HR wait to get my room wee weren't getting in to r room to after 5. Absolutely madness. The Beautiful Lady Connie who works there deserves a medal. Seemed to be the only 1 who new what she was doing. She was delightful.
The breakfast was lovely. The problems were the long wait to get to our room. The key not working a few times. And the moulded shower. Toilet not working properly. And the dated decor....

Lovely area within a short reach by DART of Dublin centre.
Lovely area within a short reach by DART of Dublin centre. Short walk to Burrow beach which is definitely worth checking out. On a hot day it’s literally like the Copa Cabana. Full of Brazilians and Dubliners!
Great coastal walks around the area.
Seafood on Howth quay is amazing. Lots of local catch and an amazing array of cuisines.
I keep coming back when in Dublin.
Hotel is conveniently located by the dart (train lines that takes you directly into town in less than 20 minutes). The room was nice and quite spacious. I selected the superior room with the view and I would recommend it. The hotel also has a pool and a small sauna room. The breakfast was continental and they had a warm buffet as well. Very simple breakfast. It costs 20euro unless it is included in your room price. I would suggest eating out at the many caffes around the hotel. Overall a nice stay.
It was such a beautiful location on the beach. Our room overlooking the ocean was very comfortable. The room was very quiet too. Every staff member we met was super nice and helpful. Breakfast was very delicious with lots to choose from. Fresh flowers through out the hotel were so pretty. We enjoyed walking on the beach, picking up shells and seeing the sea lions in the distance. Grocery store, bank, church and a couple of restaurants within a short walking distance.
The room was luxurious: pretty big with an enormous bed, large TV, a desk and armchairs, the shower room was big too, plenty of space to stock luggage. We were lucky to have sea view from the window which was beautiful. One may enjoy a walk on the beach outside the hotel. We didn't have a chance to enjoy the swimming pool though. 7 minutes walk to the train station that brings in 20 minutes to Dublin city center - good location. 15 minutes drive to the airport.
Beautiful, cosy, comfortable hotel. Easy and quick check-in and check-out took 10 seconds! Very friendly and helpful staff. Room was cleaned daily, with change of towels. Nice to have the tea/coffee facilities in the room. We wanted to use the pool and sauna, sadly did not have time. Location is ideal for North County Dublin and very near to train station (5 minute walk) to go to city centre. I would definitely stay here again.
Fabulous views of the bay from my room and also the restaurant. There's a nice green lawn between the hotel and the beach, and the walk along the beach is very restful.
The close DART station makes getting to Howth and Dublin easy.
And there's a grocery store across the street in a shopping Commons, convenient if you need something.
The staff was so accomodating when I mistakenly booked fie 1 and not 2.
Friendly staff on arrival for check in, lovely view at the back of the hotel, and if booking a room highly recommend one of these. There are 2 restaurants there but one closed, food being served in the main dining area and was very tasty and generous portions, also good choice for breakfast. Bed very comfortable.
Great location and very handy for the DART into Dublin or walking around Howth. A spacious car park. A fabulous room and ensuite, and I felt that paying extra for a sea view was justified. A really good breakfast.
The location was very good. It was easy access to Dublin via rail and the area was good for dining outside of the crowds of the city.
The staff was very attentive to all of our request.
I love this hotel and stay here whenever I'm passing through Dublin Airport. It has so much character, very nice grounds. Lovely view of the bay. Cool little shops within easy walk.
if you know Sutton Cross you know this is the only hotel… easy access to Howth and it’s own dart station. newly renovated rooms in an old hotel. beach access. breakfast included
Hosts were super nice, breakfast was great, the house is beautiful and it's a super quiet neighborhood with easy public transit access to either Dublin downtown or Howth
