Whatever I can say about the manager Anu and her staff, it will not suffice. In all my travels all over, it is rare to find someone with her level of energy and enthusiasm to help. Her inputs were extremely useful and really enriched our holiday. For anyone not fussed about frills and luxuries, and happy to stay in a clean, comfortable place with great vibe and helpful staff, look no further. Didn't get to speak to the owner Arnab enough, but he also spends his personal time with guests and has a wealth of knowledge for those wanting to get off the beaten track. Overall, anyone who stays here once will be coming back and that includes us.
They also organised a really good driver for our long haul drives to Nubra and Pangong.

5 days in Leh with my spouse was pure magic! We explored ancient monasteries, gasped at turquoise Pangong Tso, and hand-in-hand, braved the high altitudes. Leh's beauty brought us closer, creating memories that will last a lifetime.

Leh is cold throughout the year.
Leh is cold throughout the year. That is the basic point we to remember. And at a altitude with its associated problems. Otherwise it is great holiday spot. So much to see.
A definite must to visit many times.

Most visitors to Leh prefer to stay longer to tour the valleys nearby. We went during the off-season and the main reason was to get away from the Delhi chaos over a weekend. So Leh served its purpose for us. The main market area has good cafes, restaurants and shops. Shanti Stupa is also present in Leh. Good vibes nothing less. Leh has a large Indian Army presence so we felt very safe and secure :)

Scenic views all around with the most amazing people! Momos were my favourite local dish that you can find at most restaurants. Love that Leh is more pedestrian friendly and quiet compared to the rest of India. Perfect destination for relaxation.

I was expecting a little more of the city.
I was expecting a little more of the city. The market is nice, I had some fine food, but the streets and sidewalks are too disorganized, there are signs "don't walk alone in the dark because of the stray dogs" (?!?!?), it's pretty smoggy and conservation in general is lacking. Came by bicycle through the Manali-Leh road, which was amazing, but the city itself wasn't a highlight of the trip.
This is the best place I have ever stayed through Booking.com. Staying in Thangkop House felt so cozy with warm welcome of the family. It was like an oasis after tiring days of travel.
The managers of the property (son and daughter of the family) Wong and Diskit are very attentive to every need of the guests. They were available for any kind of help in navigating Leh/Ladakh, but we also had great conversations about the local life.
Thank you so much and I hope to come back many times and more !
We were warmly welcomed upon arrival and given such good advice on the area. Each interaction with Arnab and Anu was thoughtful, kind, and sincere. The housekeeping and cooking staff were also wonderful. The room was clean and cozy, as described, a great value for the money. When we returned after a local trip, we were put in an even more comfortable room. This was truly a home base for us in Ladakh. Food was tasty and healthy too.

Loved the place.
The location is amazing, super convenient. The surroundings are beautiful. It felt like home. Since the moment I stepped in, Jimi was really helpful and welcoming. The food that Baskit makes is mouthwatering 😋 didn't miss home food at all.
Every minute I spent in the room was so worth it. Thank you Puma House for making my first Ladakh trip so great! Can't wait to be back!!
My experience in lhazes hotel was amazing! The staff and the owners there were very friendly and helpful. Although i was living in a hotel, it genuinely felt like home. The food was delicious. They guided us to where we can go to view the actual beauty of ladakh. They tried their best in making our stay comfortable and as they did so, my vacations there was very memorable thanks to them.
Sonam...the owner is a nice person...helped in organising the trip for us and at reasonable rates by leh standards. He also got the bed gadda changed and arranged for a hard bed. He even gave us a room heater as it was cold but at relatively high prices....we were charged Rs500/- a day for the heater whereas we had paid only Rs 100/- extra perday for the heater at tawang six months back
Hostel is very clean, nice breakfast included, luggage storage available during Ladakh side trips. The BEST staff and manager you can ask for - super funny and friendly guys always happy to help and meet your requests. I met other travelers at this hostel that I traveled with on some Ladakh adventures. I recommend this place to anyone staying in Leh!
The hostel was well located and the main market was just about a 10 min walk.
The room itself was decent, clean and warm.
Unlike many other hotels we stayed in Ladakh, they had a stand fan which was a good addition as at night it became quite still and even though it was not hot, this fan helped with much needed air circulation.
My daughter and I enjoyed our time in Leh. The hotel staff was incredibly thoughtful and friendly, and made arrangements for a driver who spoke English and took us to many beautiful places. Coming back to the hotel after a day of site seeing was comforting- warm room with a cup of tea and a sunny window to view the mountains.
We stayed here for 4 nights. It is one of those stays where words can’t describe the great views, great hospitality, great food. Nico and Mary have done the entire place very tastefully and helped us find out about open routes, guides, hotels in other places in ladakh as well. Would love to visit them in our next trip :D
So close to the main market and such comfy beds. A room with huge windows, I felt like I should've stayed there longer. The best part? It's a pet friendly hotel. They have two cute dogs who look after the property so always keep the main door close on your way out. I'd love to go to leh and stay here again.
Host were very helpful and welcoming. He helped us in booking vehicle to roam around Ladakh. Room had facilities like heater, hot water in bathroom and Wi-Fi. Though they don't serve food here, in 200-300 meter walking distance food options were available. Had a comfortable stay. Hassle free check-in.
Amazing homestay with lovely ladakhi family, everything is so perfect, the rooms are brand new, location is superb, even the food is like heaven, we wish we can stay longer, definitely we'll come back here. Great people with highest sens of hospitality
Walking distance to Leh Market. The owner and his family is very helpful in guiding me with some tips and recommended the best travel agent with reasonable price. Thank you so much for making my trip to Ladakh so memorable, Rigzin & Jigmet
The staff is so nice! Stanzin is also a mountain guide and he gave us great advice for do some trecking in Ladakh. Maybe the best place during our trip in India. If you go to Leh we highly recommend this place.
It was a nice experience for my family to stay in Chospa Hotel in Leh. The staffs were very kind to us and hospitality was also very good.
Special thanks to the manager: Ms Tenzin Nyima
