chidambaram is a must for everyone interested in indian culture and spirituality , its main tempel is wonderful , the friday evening puja ovewhelming , a once in a lifetime experience . having visited india 8 times since 1971 i have really seen a lot and love this country , chidambaram is among the few very best there is .

It's a Temple City so one who is looking for Spritual travel and love to see South Indian Architecture, then must visit here. Food is really good at a Sri Lakkshmi Restaurant near South Gate of Sri Nataraja Temple. Buses are easily available but be aware of Mal practices of Auto Drivers. Most people speak Tamil only so it's slightly difficult to communicate with them but one can manage.SaurabhIndia - 10Scored 10

Awesome temple , a must go . Planning a re-visit on the next available opportunity . The architecture is a must see and preferably visit in the evening at about 6 ish for witnessing the grand aarthi . In the evening the columns and beams are highlighted with subtle well placed light sources which really bring out the beauty . Stay away from the priests who will insist on getting your contact details and ask for money to send monthly prasad . Dont visit the temple in a hurry , keep aside at least 3 hrs . One of the high lights is the gold covered gopuram and dont forget to inquire about Chidambara Rahasiyam ( secret) . Best visited if you can get the services of a guide to explain everything.MahalingamIndia
