The farm house
Reynivellir is located 12 km east of Jökulsárlón and is one of the oldest farms in the area. There are two farms in Reynivellir and this is Reynivellir 2. Reynivellir has through the centuries been owned by leaders in the community. In 1976 Eimskip bought Reynivellir 2 and renovated it as a holiday house for their staff. Then Suðursveit ehf bought it from Eimskip in April 2015.
Reynivellir is owned by the corporation Suðursveit ehf that is owned by two nephews. One of them is born and raised here in the area and is running Guest house Gerdi where all guests at Reynivellir check in. The other one has his roots in the area.
