This is a nice hidden gem. I think it's a fairly new property (2017?) but built with repurposed materials so it has an old colonial feel. The pool was fantastic! large and clean and almost cool. The property's biggest asset is its chef. A man from Negombo who makes the most delicious food. Better than most hotels we've stayed at, and we have stayed at more than 50 different hotels over the past few years.

The hotel is easy to find. Our accommodation was a very liberating place for us. Our room was very clean. The bed was huge and very comfortable and I love the decor of the hotel. It is very tastefully done and many will like it. I found the reception staff to be very friendly, prompt and responsive. I was very happy to get a late check out after my little request. My girlfriend and I stayed for one day and ended the day very pleasantly at CTC Hotel..If I go to Anuradhapura again I will not think twice about choosing CTC Hotel.

The resort itself exudes charm and comfort. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the cleanliness and the tasteful decor that blends beautifully with the natural surroundings. The rooms were cozy, well-maintained, and offered all the comforts needed for a restful stay. What truly sets Miridiya Lake Resort apart is its staff. Every staff member I encountered was friendly and went above and beyond to ensure my stay was enjoyable. Their attention to detail and prompt service greatly enhanced my experience. The food at the resort was nothing short of amazing. Offering a variety of delicious, well-prepared dishes at very affordable prices, each meal was a delightful experience. The dining setting, overlooking the serene waters of Nuwara Wewa, added an extra layer of enjoyment to our meals. Overall, my stay at Miridiya Lake Resort was thoroughly enjoyable. Our room was lovely and spacious , nicely decorated, nicely furnished, clean, good bathroom, nice little balcony to sit out. Very high ceilings on the first floor rooms. Good air conditioning. Comfy bed and pillows. Electric shower worked well with plenty of hot water. Would have been nice to have coffee & tea making facilities in the room. Location was OK but we think the location of any hotel is not the best owing to the large area covered by the ruins. Unfortunately, you really need a tuk tuk to get anywhere. Restaurants were hard to find close to the hotel. The hotel does provide breakfast at extra cost, we did not have breakfast as we decided to eat out. The WiFi in our room was not good, infact is, was the worst we'd experienced in our five weeks of travelling in Srilanka. Otherwise all was good.

    I have just stayed for a day because I didn’t want to spent around 25 dollars for the ancient cite. But I have walked around and prayed in Siri Maha Bodhi Tree area which is a massive and fascinating place! I have visited some other places such as Isurumuni Royal Temple and even sat down in front of the meditation stone and meditated there for a bit and it’s a very chanting place to be!

    The old city and temple complex is huge and takes a long time to walk around. In many parts you are not allowed to wear shoes or hats, so if you don’t want burnt feet, take some socks and wear sunscreen and carry water.

    1) No hot water in the shower.

    1) No hot water in the shower. 2) A whirring / drilling noise that kept me up all night, perhaps coming from one of the hotel pumps / generators from above. When I enquired about this at reception I was told that “the hotel was full” and my questions as to what it could be were rebuffed with a “goodnight”. 3) There were no batteries in the remote for the tv. 4) Which didn’t make much difference as the tv didn’t work anyway when I swapped out the batteries for the air con. 5) The air con worked but didn’t turn down meaning that I had to constantly turn it on and off. 6) The swimming pool had safety issues in that the side of the pool had a suction hole which sucked people in if they got close. Thankfully it was only me that discovered it and not the kids. 7) our drivers quarters were full of cockroaches and he was asked to give up his fan for a “guest” half way through the night.

    This hotel has high cost-perfomance included thier hospitality and kindness. The biggest obstacle in my trip to Sri Lanka was transportation, but they told me the order to the hotel before arrival. Room is beautiful, hot There is no problem with the water pressure of the shower, and the hot water is solid. meal is also nice. We rented a bicycle and toured the temples of Anuradhapura. Finally,he consulted us about the next itinery and helped us get on the bus, which is difficult for travelers. Many thank, Amira-san!!

    We had an amazing stay at Hotel Heladiv and would definitely recommend it to anyone travelling to Anuradhapura. The staff were attentive, friendly, and happy to help with anything. The breakfast was great and we had a delicious selection of Sri Lankan curries for dinner. It was lovely sitting out by the palm trees watching the birds (and fireflies in the evening!). The pool was perfect for a dip after a day of exploring in the sun. Thank you to everyone at Hotel Heladiv for the best stay!

    Surrounded by nature, so it's not too hot. Nice, clean and comfy room. AC works perfectly. TV was also available. The owner helps a lot with finding transportation for affordable prices because the Tuk Tucks available near the railway station charges unreasonable amounts. Really friendly and helpful owner. Definitely a perfect place to stay if you're visiting Anuradhapura. It's just 1km away from the railway station as well. Highly recommend for anyone.

    Water Front Home Stay is a lovely place to stay in Anuradhapura. There are very cute and spotless rooms, as well as delicious breakfast and dinner (one of the best we had in Sri Lanka) that you'll take on a large terrace facing a beautiful garden. Wasantha, the owner of the place, is very nice and helpful. He can recommend the best way to go around the ancient sites and also arrange a lift to any place you'd like.

    Our host Mr. Wasantha and his family were so nice and helpfull.They prepare great breakfast with their own grown fruits and homemade food.     Rooms are very clean. All the equipment is new. They are very flexible with arrival and departure time. The food was very delicious. We are planning to visit this place again. Walking distance to Nuwara Lake. There is a nice place to have a safe bath. Staff is very friendly. You have two entrances for the room. One key is electronic card. One is the old method key.

    Great hotel to stay in Anuradhapura. In some of the other reviews the food gets some poor comments. We found that if you stuck with the Sri Lankan menu the food was excellent, particularly the chicken and fish curries. Very welcoming host and really attentive staff. They also made an excellent packed breakfast for our 5am safari start.

    Pali was an incredible host. We spent a whole afternoon visiting the sacred places in Anuradhapura and I was so lucky to do it during the full moon fest. Pali share all that energy with me.     I am a doctor and my wife and I stayed at this hotel one day when we went to Anuradhapura and the staff at this hotel treated us very badly. We were told to leave and after that we had to move to another hostel.
