I have just stayed for a day because I didn’t want to spent around 25 dollars for the ancient cite. But I have walked around and prayed in Siri Maha Bodhi Tree area which is a massive and fascinating place! 1) No hot water in the shower.
1) No hot water in the shower. 2) A whirring / drilling noise that kept me up all night, perhaps coming from one of the hotel pumps / generators from above. When I enquired about this at reception I was told that “the hotel was full” and my questions as to what it could be were rebuffed with a “goodnight”. 3) There were no batteries in the remote for the tv. 4) Which didn’t make much difference as the tv didn’t work anyway when I swapped out the batteries for the air con. 5) The air con worked but didn’t turn down meaning that I had to constantly turn it on and off. 6) The swimming pool had safety issues in that the side of the pool had a suction hole which sucked people in if they got close. Thankfully it was only me that discovered it and not the kids. 7) our drivers quarters were full of cockroaches and he was asked to give up his fan for a “guest” half way through the night.Eggleton - 10Scored 10

Stayed in 2 different rooms (last minute change of plan on our behalf) and both were beautiful, really clean and gorgeous view over the faddy field to roof top. Was clean and all amenities we needed. We even hired bikes for for the day to visit Anuradhapura with bike lock. The breakfast and dinner was delicious. Owner is a very good chef and the best food we had in Sri lanka .Would go back in a heart beat!

There is a small convenience shop next door and is ten mins walk down a main road from a couple of local restaurants.

The staff is very attentive and fulfills every wish. The very tasty meals can be taken on one of the three terraces, from where different species of birds can be observed. In the evening you have an impressive view over the lake to the illuminated pagodas of the Sacred City. It was very difficult for us to say goodbye.
