This is a nice hidden gem. I think it's a fairly new property (2017?) but built with repurposed materials so it has an old colonial feel. The pool was fantastic! large and clean and almost cool. The property's biggest asset is its chef. A man from Negombo who makes the most delicious food. Better than most hotels we've stayed at, and we have stayed at more than 50 different hotels over the past few years.

The hotel is easy to find. Our accommodation was a very liberating place for us. Our room was very clean. The bed was huge and very comfortable and I love the decor of the hotel. It is very tastefully done and many will like it. I found the reception staff to be very friendly, prompt and responsive. I was very happy to get a late check out after my little request. My girlfriend and I stayed for one day and ended the day very pleasantly at CTC Hotel..If I go to Anuradhapura again I will not think twice about choosing CTC Hotel.

The resort itself exudes charm and comfort. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the cleanliness and the tasteful decor that blends beautifully with the natural surroundings. The rooms were cozy, well-maintained, and offered all the comforts needed for a restful stay. What truly sets Miridiya Lake Resort apart is its staff. Every staff member I encountered was friendly and went above and beyond to ensure my stay was enjoyable. Their attention to detail and prompt service greatly enhanced my experience. Our room was lovely and spacious , nicely decorated, nicely furnished, clean, good bathroom, nice little balcony to sit out. Very high ceilings on the first floor rooms. Good air conditioning. Comfy bed and pillows. Electric shower worked well with plenty of hot water. Would have been nice to have coffee & tea making facilities in the room. Location was OK but we think the location of any hotel is not the best owing to the large area covered by the ruins. Unfortunately, you really need a tuk tuk to get anywhere. Restaurants were hard to find close to the hotel. The hotel does provide breakfast at extra cost, we did not have breakfast as we decided to eat out. The WiFi in our room was not good, infact is, was the worst we'd experienced in our five weeks of travelling in Srilanka. Otherwise all was good.

    I have just stayed for a day because I didn’t want to spent around 25 dollars for the ancient cite. But I have walked around and prayed in Siri Maha Bodhi Tree area which is a massive and fascinating place! I have visited some other places such as Isurumuni Royal Temple and even sat down in front of the meditation stone and meditated there for a bit and it’s a very chanting place to be!

    The old city and temple complex is huge and takes a long time to walk around. In many parts you are not allowed to wear shoes or hats, so if you don’t want burnt feet, take some socks and wear sunscreen and carry water.

    1) No hot water in the shower.

    1) No hot water in the shower. 2) A whirring / drilling noise that kept me up all night, perhaps coming from one of the hotel pumps / generators from above. When I enquired about this at reception I was told that “the hotel was full” and my questions as to what it could be were rebuffed with a “goodnight”. 3) There were no batteries in the remote for the tv. 4) Which didn’t make much difference as the tv didn’t work anyway when I swapped out the batteries for the air con. 5) The air con worked but didn’t turn down meaning that I had to constantly turn it on and off. 6) The swimming pool had safety issues in that the side of the pool had a suction hole which sucked people in if they got close. Thankfully it was only me that discovered it and not the kids. 7) our drivers quarters were full of cockroaches and he was asked to give up his fan for a “guest” half way through the night.

    Absolutely outstanding location!! Very close to the sacred city, temples and other attractions. Very well planned landscapes, clean and comfortable modern rooms that provide closeness to the nature - you will wake up to the singing of birds!! Nice pool overlooking the paddy fields that has a relaxing vibe to end the day with. Friendly and helpful staff, great food and nice rooftop views of the tanks and stupas! All in all, a fantastic place that I will recommend to all my friends traveling to Sri Lanka and the ancient city of Anuradhapura.

    It was a great stay. We were impressed about the service provided by MD and the staff. We had lunch, dinner and breakfast there. Food is so good. I should mention that, even if they don’t have something you want to try, they are willing to arrange it from outside and provide it to you. The best example is, we asked for a particular dessert and they didn’t have it in the restaurant. But they arranged it within few mins. This is the first point they made us impressive. We’d like to book this hotel for our future visits to Anuradhapura.

    The rooms are basic but you have everything what you need. The pool is really great on hot days. Ashoka, the manager of the place, is really helpful and caring with the guests. He recommended us when we should do the different sites and it was well appreciated. The driver - Kuma - that he organized for us twice was so nice and explained us so many things about the stupa, the temples, the trees, etc. He has well look after our children when they were too tired to do visit so that we could have a look. A great man!

    The host Pradeep and his wife are exactly how you expect a host. Perfect frindly and always happy to help. The hotel is perfect clean 10/10. Cleanest hotel I stayed for a long time! The stuff definitely makes a good job! You can rent a bicycle at the hotel. Super easy to get to ancient city and get around in generell. If I come back to Anuradhapura I will choose this hotel again!

    What stood out the most during our stay here was the exceptional service from all staff- we are especially thankful to Herath who was constantly making an effort to make our stay more comfortable! We also loved all the meals, especially the fish dishes! The view during sunrise was a memorable one - highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a place in Anuradhapura!

    I stayed 2 days in this hotel with my family and it was located only 10 minutes away from Sri maha bodhi and other places . Food was delicious and we enjoyed it a lot. The CEO of the hotel Mr. Sumith was very friendly and he personally looked after guests. He has friendly staff as well. I recommended this hotel if anyone is planing to visit Anuradhapura.

    Great location. .Few tropical fruits stand nearby and cheap SriLankan foods. 12 minutes walk to the central bus station. Good staff , they let us use the staff kitchen to use their utensils . Good size room. It's a good and big hotel but Needs a little bit of tidying the rooms.as well withe door locks. Everything is banging when closing their rooms.

    The hotel staff were so helpful and friendly. The rooms are nice and modern. The restaurant has great food! The hotel also arranged a private tourgide to visit Mihintale and the temples. He gave us the best Anuradhapura experience.

    Beautiful simple boutique hotel in Anuradhapura. The swimming pool is a dream and the staff is so friendly. Look for “J” and Harry and the manager of the hotel, they’ll take good care of you.
