The city has so many ruins they do not even bother to label them or secure them. Saw many people just walking through while shopping or family outings. But no controls were needed as it seems everyone was respectful of the ruins.

Green and vibrant city, great parks, picturesque river and bridges, lots of cafes, some interesting monuments.
Not impressed by a culinary side though - didn’t find any tasty food in both cheaper and expensive places. Got the impression that the real reason to go to a restaurant is to socialize only.
Surely way too hot in summer, as the seaside is about 100 km away. I wish they had more fountains at least!
Next time will only eat at home and stay in in the middle of the day.

Small city with lots of trees that give everybody around allergies.
It's very surreal to have mountains all around the city - kinda like a skybox in an old game. The sights are wonderful, especially in the evening. I wish I had my drone there to fly over - it would be so much better than what I had, but drone laws are cruel there (airport security doesn't do very good job of checking if you stay in the back though).
There's not too much to do in the city itself but it's a nice location to have 1.5-3h bus rides to other cities - we especially enjoyed going to Kotor mountains, and going to a nudist beach at Bojana island was also an interesting experience.
There are some places with nice food - just look for the highest rated restaurants in the area. I particularly liked the steak at the "Steak House - Grill, Fish & Meat" place. Food delivery is average. Taxis don't take card payments most of the time, and calling for a taxi without knowing the language is a pain. Tesla app is kinda ok in that regard, but it's only working in Podgoritsa.
People don't know how to drive and how to park there so pedestrian roads are blocked with cars, and traffic lights are challenging if you can't walk fast.

Very pleasant town, with green space and parks, safe and relaxing for long walks, especially by the river, and no problems at all with motorbikes (as in Tirana) and stray dogs (as in Durres). Guidebooks that underrate Podgorica are wrong!

The city is not very beautiful, but tourist-friendly.
The city is not very beautiful, but tourist-friendly. It is a good base for trips to other towns. You can get there very conveniently by bus or train. I recommend! There are a lot of green places and lovely corners by the river. The catering facilities are sufficient.

Podgorica
Podgorica is a very beautiful city.
Podgorica
Podgorica is a very beautiful city. It is very clean and organized with regular houses, shops and markets, although it is a small place. People are calm and very friendly.
It was quite a beautiful and special evening with bars on both sides of the main boulevard where people spent time with their loved ones.
I can mention the Munchen bar where we had a delicious dinner.
Another favorite bar in the city center with live music was Hard Rock Cafe.
lovely new clean property with excellent t upmarket bedding and furniture and decor and lots of space in the room, also balcony and elevator and great secure off street parking, walking distance to pharmacy’s and supermarket . lovely staff, they went out of their way to help us. and they were very generous with our late check out for a flight . it’s in a quiet area too. we stayed in the city for a month and we think that this is easily the best hotel in the city and the best one montenegro I think.
I was travelling for a conference in Budva Montenegro and I stayed in Simo apartments near the airport in Podgorica on the first and last nights to make travelling easier. I was met at the airport by the host (even though it was late at night) and dropped back to the airport when flying out - in both cases, free of any additional charge. The host was extremely friendly, professional and helpful. The accommodation was clean and comfortable. One of my best travel accommodation experiences for work.
Location was central..only 10 mins drive time from the airport...used as a stop over as late arriving flight. Checking in was slick and we used the underground parking. The rooms are exactly as pictured and of a very nice standard..the hotel has its own restaurant and bar and the food is very good and very affordable...good choice of montenegro wine in good setting. Everywhere was very clean and very well kept. Overall highly recommended.
Our stay at Marija’s apartment was outstanding. Communication with Marija was a great help . She was there for us related to all our inquiries during our stay in Podgorica! What a kind person!
Marija’s apartment can be comparrd to a 5 star hotel. Her place was spotless. We couldn’t have asked for a better location. The apartment had everything we needed. We will definitely be back and recommend it to all our friends! Thank you Marija?
The location of the hotel was perfect for an early morning flight at the Podgorica airport. A 5 minute taxi ride...cost 5 Euro. We had a spacious room with a large balcony. The restaurant serves very good food in super large quantity. We ordered 2 meals and should have split one! Nice grounds..well kept up. Our interaction with the staff was very positive and we appreciated their assistance, both at Check in and check out.
Great location in the center of Podgorica, next to Independence square. The hotel has a parking lot,
Staff were friendly and helpful.
The hotel public areas are very nicely decorated (stairs, corridors etc) - bright colours, artifacts, art, very well done.
Had a minibar fridge, a desk, an armchair and a chair. Wifi worked fine.
Breakfast was OK- fair selection of food.
The hotel is in the direct vicinity of bus and train stations, yet surprisingly quiet, so it is a perfect place to start exploring Montenegro. Good value for money. Abundant breakfast available early in the morning. Very helpful and friendly staff. They can organize a range of excursions to neighboring tourist attractions or a taxi to the airport.
This hostel is actually a private owned family business. very convenient, quite and calm place is just 5 minutes away from the Podgorica main bus, train station and Mall of Montenegro (hotel Ramada). Anybody can go to airport (aerodrom) from train station, for only 1.20€ . I will definitely recommend this place.
We arrived Podgorica via plane. Marko came and get us from airport. Our travel was in January and it was really cold outside. Our apartment was pre-heated. AC was working perfectly. Also location is very good. It was in the city center, near christmas market :) we stayed one night and everything was very good.
This apartment is a hidden gem in Podgorica! It’s gorgeous, super spacious and clean. There’s everything we needed and more. The hosts were absolutely lovely and we felt welcomed and taken care of. We definitely recommend it and we’ll book it again whenever we go back to the city.
Breakfast was delicious. The hotel is just in the heart of the city. Easy and affordable to reach from the airport. Hotel booked us a taxi which was on time and waiting for us although we had a delay. Easy to communicate with the reception through booking.com
The perfect room when arriving late into Podgorica airport, and the free collection from the airport from Simo was just what we needed after the flight. The room itself was amazing; large, comfortable and even had a stocked mini bar with local drinks.
Special thanks to Vera, she was so helping. She arranged me shuttle to the airport and the driver also so kind. Room was clean. There is a shared kitchen where you can prepare coffee. Hotel is located in city center you can walk everywhere.
Beautiful room, hotel and restaurant! Everything was clean and the hotel staff was superb! Very attentive and great service! The hotel is right in the tiny center of Podgorica in the perfect location.
Hotel architecture was magnificent. Room was large and comfortable, with the Moraca river view. The view was fantastic! Close to the city center so we could walk to the city for a drink and dinner.
Hotel is 5min from city center where night life is really in EX-YU style. A lot of open places for food and drinks. Beautiful parks and historical attractions.
