We were on our way home so we didn't really plan for time in Mexicali. The hotel was very good and safe. We used the google maps app to get to the border. Do not follow this app. It took us to the sentri lane which we had to turn around in. Sentri is for those with special passes. I went to search them and let them know I took them. aha and they never replaced it. Just two sizes in the bathroom, hair rinse was born. I think next time we will opt for Fiesta Inn. Bathroom has no privacy. I do not understand the logic of having an open bathroom. This was very uncomfortable and the reason for not staying there anymore. The beds, TV, staff and cafeteria are great.

Was worried about my personal safety and the safety of my vehicle and it's contents. These worries proved to be a non issue as the hotel was first class and it's location was excellent in that it is surrounded by new upscale restaurants and other well known hotels. The breakfast was outstanding in that there were several dishes to choose from, all very tasty. The staff were bilingual and very helpful. I would highly recommend this hotel. It worked perfectly for me in that I was able to get up early the next morning well rested and cross the border into the US without the long wait.

A GREAT CITY MOST PEOPLE WERE VERY FRIENDLY AND WENT OUT OF THEIR WAY HELP. (EXCEPT FOR OUR HOTEL.... ONE MEXICALI GREAT STEAK HOUSE "STEAK AND CHEESE". 'FAR+CIA" PHARMACY HELPED IMMENSLY SOURCING OUR MEDICATION. LACK OF STREET SIGNS (as in most cities in Mexico) AVOID RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC

The seafood restaurants are amazing. The pharmacies, which are everywhere, have prescription drugs at lower prices than USA and you don't need a prescription. I recommend Ahorro, because they are a national chain and you can go to their website and check prices before you arrive.
